- This video is a mix of things really but the main subject is me telling you all why my 1979 Lotus Esprit S2 is up for sale as some of you have been asking and I thought it's about time I addressed it. I know some of you may disagree with my reasons but they are MY reasons and it is how I feel which I hope will be respected.
Myself and Mark also go out for rides in each others cars as Mark never drove his before the work started so it was a big thing that I thought some of you would enjoy watching. We took them both out within five minutes of each other on the same stretch of road so we could do a good comparison.

Very entertaining and educational video. Kind of bittersweet, having to sell your Esprit, because you are worried about repair costs, but that's part of the game. I think it's very responsible of you to find a good home for her, just in case the worst happens. I'd love to own an S2 Esprit (or especially an S3, but they are exceptionally rare here in America). But at least you got to live the dream for a while, and those of us in the business always appreciate when you turn the music down so we can hear the exhaust note. Well done.

@@calazam118 I get it to some degree - I love my elan but sometimes struggle with the what if something big breaks! Where will I find 7k to rebuild a twin cam … possibly the most fun stress free classic car I had was a frog eye sprite - just a joy to own, drive and tinker on.
Great video. I am curious about what spring rates Mark settled on. I am also interested in doing an Esprit resto mod.
The stock cars have VERY soft springs.
The springs aren’t original so I can’t really help you, I’m afraid. If you do ahead with a restomod you kinda have to feel your way, and things like suspension setup depend on many other modifying factors like wheel size etc. best of luck.

If the steering wheel was on the other side , I'd consider buying it and giving you visitation rights.
Indeed it’s a tough decision and I hope to sell it to someone who would potentially sell it back to me in the future as I do love the car.
