I had been in Kentucky visiting family and the flight back to Florida was VIA Detroit first. In Detroit I get bumped up to first class. The guy I set next to had on an expensive suit, brief case and sun glasses, me being from Florida I thought nothing of the sunglasses. This guy starts up a conversation while we were still at the gate and we ended up talking to Atlanta. We walked through the airport, got on an escalator and he took off the sunglasses. I said you look just like Don Knotts and he smiled, I said oh you are Don Knotts. One of the nicest people I had ever flown with or had a conversation with.

I will always see this man as the wonderful comedian that he was, and he will ALWAYS be missed. This should all have remained private. Shame on this " daughter", this was NOT something to be noted. I don't see anything his daughter wrote about, that shouldn't have been said or told about. Don knots was a wonderful actor and one of the best comedians, to ever grace the programs. There just wasn't anyone, ever, who could match him in acting.

Why is it that when a celebrity's past is revealed it separates what we see on screen as opposed to reality? Does anyone think that because he was funny and famous he was always that way? Many entertainers had tough childhoods...Jackie Gleason to name one. These people were super special because they were vulnerable to the fringes of society. It reminds of a Frankie Valli song...RAGDOLL. These people scratch and clawed and some never made it to the top. Many did. Who can you say had a perfect life? I can think of no-one. Although his childhood was somewhat erratic in nature he had the fuel and courage to ride out the bumps in life to make it to the top. That us really what life is about. God gives us every day as a gift to succeed. What we do with that gift is up to us. Never give up.

I’m a 70yo Veteran and I grew up on Long Island NY and always enjoy Don Knotts. Every time I would watch the Andy Griffith show or any of his movies it would always make me laugh and smile. When he passed away I was very sad. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

I have a few of his movies 😀 I told my youngest son about Don Knotts and how funny he was. This is when my son was six yrs old. So, I bought two of his movies The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and The Incredible Mr. Limpet. I'm still adding more of his movies. Boy did he laugh so hard and so did my daughter. That brought joy to my heart because they enjoyed those movies just as much as I did. Mr. Knotts was such a beautiful little man. Thank you for all the great movies and tv shows and all the laughs. I'd heard ab0ut his childhood before. /Aside from that, to this day, I still watch the Andy Griffith Show. When Don left the show it was just not the same, so I only watch the episodes with Don Knotts in them. Best sitcom EVER!
