I went gentle on the neckFX cause some of you guys found the previous version too shaky. This one tells you what's going on on the road surface but acts like you're not going thru 3Gs on every corner. Played online and was pretty competitive with it (i won).

Tetri Dildo : shiny and warm.
Tetri Sad Reality : dull, greyish and sadly realistic.
Tetri Intensity : contrasty, colorful and warm
All the Reshade presets are named accordingly with the ppfilters they're supposed to work with.

This is the first time I see assetto corsa actually look like real life, and your way of driving these coffins is insane, cheers for that

I highly recommend to check out Vision Reality filter, it is one of the most realistic filters in my opinion, it is just insanely good

Everyone in Assetto likes those super saturated graphics mods and says "It looks like real life". This is the only time I have seen Assetto graphics that actually look real. The colors are spot on.
Not everyone likes the saturated look. We have so many ppfs to choose from now, but just the standard ppf from the PURE mod works perfect.

Been driving in AC since 2013, and the lotus 49 still scares me everytime I drive it. Imagine the courage it take to drive this thing back then.
I couldn't agree more, especially on AC
I "drove" this car the first time in project cars 2 then I tested assetto corsa and this car, I was so disturbed by the difference I had the impression of driving an uncontrollable monster, the sensations of speed, the force feedback, the fact of losing control at the slightest wrong use of the gas pedal... afterwards I never played project cars 2 again

This was a pleasure to watch. I've been away from Assetto Corsa for a few years and seeing the quality of this is just shocking at how good and real it looks. Great video.
Same here! I actually got bored of competitive online racing and came back at AC for very specific mods and tracks. Still having issues with the poor AI, the online netcode issues and other small things, but the immersion is so genuine! And it's quite enjoyable to just dl a car/track combo and go for an hour of good fun without thinking about it. Really different from how i use to simrace.

Wow Longford Australia, I was there in the 60’s when the likes of Clark, Hill, Brabham, McLaren, Youl (local), Stewart, Spencer Martin (Aust), Frank Gardner and a bunch of other Australians and New Zealanders. It was my local ‘international track’
Me and a couple buddies just put a couple hours in on L.A. Canyons. I’m running 4k @120hz. CSP and SOL tuned up at that almost looks like real life. It never gets old.

The telegraph wires could do with looping lower between the poles, that's how I remember them.
Still have Gpl, I have to break it out occasionally. Spent countless hours with it, and raced in a league years ago. Good times!

that's just because he was changing gear. The animation wouldve included right hand on wheel at that point in the rotation had it not been occupied with the stick

I need to be aware of others' speed , have bad habit of running up on them at corners. Why is the front moving so slow at turns. Always backups. I dislike Ramming anyone. I think game graphics has reached the best level necessary. Now they should focus on photo realistic colors instead.
Agree! It's super hard to get vibrant color without scripting the shit out of the ppfilter. For each CSP and Pure upgrade i have to work thru each setting again and again, but color grading is on my list.

just the taste of the real thing via a computer game imparts the utter machismo & brute strength involved in successfully rounding a circuit to race completion in the mid to late 60s ... let alone the straight up luck youd have to find to not just become a fireball or bathtub slingshot pellet you could so easily become then....
(gated shifter & clutch you dont use if you can drive ...+ , if im not mistaken, nylon or polyester tires, as well? hf😮)
Assetto has an incredible modding community but I wish it were easy to mod
Add some dirt on the visor and it would be difficult to tell this from the real thing.
I play it in VR and it looks beautiful. Just dont turn your head and stop. Your mind and body will trip out. Plus, after a good face I feel like I just went through it.
There is a new The Crew Motorfest with no mirrors and then I see these super realistic mirrors in the first AC which is like what, a decade old game and I pray to all the gaming gods to burn the nowadays AAA gaming industry to ashes. It is not even funny anymore.

The shadows under the cars are probably the most unrealistic part. But even with the bad shadows it looks very impressive.

@@Andy-yy2fg bruh, open headers do spit flames on heavy decel. that was a thing in the 1960's (these are not 1950's fomulas, as they were all front engined till 1957...) now well into the 1970's these cars ran on various methanol blends.. which, as you may know, burns clear.
so in a game primarily designed to picture non methanol burning cars, flames make sense.

I had the GPL demo on a machine years ago and had downloaded various tracks that would work with it. I spent a lot time and laps back then and lots of fun. Seeing this brings back those memories.

Great video! Your game looks amazing! I love watching these cars race and i love learning about them too. But whenever i try to drive them myself i can never drive more than 3 corners without ending up in the wall 😅
These cars are always sliding to some degree on the front or the rear, so maybe try a slower but very loose car and see if that lets you get more comfortable with the aluminium bathtubs.

Looks very good. And very similar to gp legends. Is it more accurate?
It's a bit different. Modders tend to apply a softer road surface (for your usual simracer to ride them with modern GTs) and i HATE when the road surfaces feel flat.
Other than that, the physics are quite cool. As in any videogame you find the loopholes and exploit them (this car being overpowered i tend to use rally skills instead of proper racetrack ones) but as for immersivity... AC may take my crown.
Its weak point is the AI. The actual feeling of being part of a true championship like in GPL has yet to be parralleled.
Considering its super low price, the insane amount of modded content available, the community that keeps updating everything, and the growing community around vintage stuffs, AC remains one of the best GPL grandson. AMS2 is promising but i still have issues with its physic model, it seems a bit glitchy to me.

The CSP settings are easy to fix at first, and make up for 70% of the job. Easy to try, just click on the links.
Pick you favourite ppfilter (either mines or others. Ipersonnally prefer washed colors and crude light, but Natural Mod, Aegis or SKY ppfilters would do a perfectly good job)
Reshade adds a 10% framerate drop but gors for the polishing : sharpness, contrast, lightning, and depth of field.
Anyone else find the shifting animation awkward and distracting? Ain't nobody shifting so softly when driving like that..

Are you using auto-clutch? I can't tell.

I could, but i still have to accomodate analytics and it shows the average watch time is around 3 mins on these vids. Watching a lonely car for 35 mins doesn't seem really appealing to anyone, which i tottally understand.
