I absolutely LOVE the “Academy Cities” idea; it not only makes the Grimm seem much more like a threat to human civilization when most of humanity has to live off the surface of the world in order to survive, but it also makes the setting feel more mysterious and ripe for exploration. What exactly are the lands dominated entirely by the Grimm outside of the few safe areas like? How big is this world? Why and how was the moon shattered in THIS universe? Color me VERY insterested for what’s to come.
I loved the redesigns, hope to see Ruby getting her cape later on too, but daaaaaamn Yang's redesign is my favourite by far, she looks SO good. The flying academies is also very interesting!

Based on what I'm seeing at least, KRWBY has a bit of a favoritism thing when it comes to who can criticize their show. Some videos are even being taken down just because they pointed out the negatives of their show's writing.

I've been following Remnants for awhile, but I had no idea it'd grown this huge, or become this professional until now; seeing it expand from Syto's kickass design work to the various videos was already a trip and a half, but this? This is bigger than I could've ever imagined, and I am *so* hyped to see RWBY: Remnants grow even more!!
I realy love all RWBy Aus out there who are more character driven. They tend to explore the teams interactions better. For example Ruby and Blake in episode two seem to have a start of a charcter plotline when they meet and interact for the first time. Their contrasting views of the world (Hopefull huntress in training Ruby who wants to make the world a better place vs Blake who was just like her until she was crushed by cruelty with the White Fang) to later never interact again up until volume 8 compared to the rest of her teamates. Anyways Im very excited for this project and will be waiting! Good luck guys
I love the musical leitmotifs for team RWBY. Ruby with the Spanish Guitar, Weiss with Piano and Violins, Blake with Piano and Cello, and Yang with Rock Guitar. My personal favorite has to be Blake because of how the Cello and lower strings fit more to Blake and the moody vibe it brings. I remember listening to Blake's leitmotif in Rooster Teeth's score soundtrack (like this one th-cam.com/video/3KDjeQpd_H4/w-d-xo.html), and the Cello is a great pick for Blake alongside the Piano. In my first listen, I thought it was Oboe, which I think can also fit her when played in the lower register. This is good stuff. I'll be looking forward to this.
Perfect idea to give her a tail, it’s the one thing about RoosterTeeth’s RWBY that’s been bothering me for a while, but I also thought it was a very unique idea so I didn’t complain too much.
Damn that intro was cool! This is incredible syto! Also damn phyrra looks awesome! As well as jaune, I love the white hoodie with the design and how it goes with his hair, skin and eye colors. Man I love the school uniform designs in this! They each feels unique to the individual characters wearing them making them stand out more, especially with how they wear them. Good on you guys!

While there are some designs I like more than others (I’ll need to see more of Ruby’s hoody to be sold on it) I love how each of your takes help to focus in on the characters, and makes them feel unique. One of the things I like most about RWBY is how diverse the character types are, and I’m glad that shines through this project as well. I love hearing about how you made the different design choices, and the thoughts that went into building this series. I’m fact off you ever wanted to release more videos like that as a side extra I know you would have at least one person watching. Great work and I can’t wait to see more.

For Weiss I'd recommend to keep the red as it was something that kept the design from being too white or too black. For example, if you want to keep the main design with the same color palette, you could make Weiss' scar bigger and red. That way, you can keep the red without changing too much of the Snowpea inspired outfit. 12:17 For Ruby, this outfit is the best one for me imo. It's the simplest yet most recognizable.
As someone who was very into RWBY and as someone who has steadily lost interest in continuing the story as it progressed, probably for similar reasons as numerous others.. but this looks genuinely intriguing and the open and honest approach that your team seems to be taking on your AU has my hopes up. Im truly looking forward to seeing where you take this
Really appreciate your approach to retelling this story and acknowledging that your work is not above the same criticisms as the original. As much as I am anticipating this project I know me and many others will keep in mind the storytelling and world building to see it as the best it can be.

After re-watching this video numerous times (10 to be precise), I cannot get over Blake and Yang's design. I'm even more amped up to see what Cinder, Roman, and Salem's designs look like. I know that's more down the road and you guys presented Mercury and Emerald in 11:48 and Neo in 11:54. Overall, I'm so hyped up for this project! Side-Note: I don't know who that is on the left side of Neo in 11:54. I'm thinking Cardin, but who knows? Side-Note 2: The fact that this is coming out (hopefully) the same year as RWBY: Ice Queendom makes me faint from utter excitement!
I feel as though my only gripe with this is either Weiss's or Yang's uniforms should be changed. If you were to change Yang, she should be given more of her color yellow. I like the idea of her outfit enough, but the accents on her I feel do not show enough of her signature color to make it feel like her, and her outfit then looks too similar to Blake. Maybe give her a yellowish shirt or give her more yellow on the gloves or bottoms. If you don't change Yang, I'd suggest Weiss. With the other three, they have the same idea for their outfits, but they have unique attributes to them. Weiss doesn't really have that, and it makes her look out of uniform. Maybe give her a smaller black jacket (like how she wears it in Volume 1) or a black vest, so she can be in uniform with the rest of her team. I otherwise think this is all fantastic so far. Amazing job to your team!!
I feel like Yang’s uniform is fine, as she can have a bunch of yellow in her combat outfit, but I agree with you on Weiss, something as small as a black vest would massively benefit her and how well she fits with the others

I really like your design decisions, for pretty much everything, including music, voice cast and world-building. On a purely biased opinion: special mentions to the designs for Ruby, the sneak peek at Pyrrha and, dear lord, "delinquent/banchou" Yang is simply genius. 4:10 so apart from the huntsmen are there other human groups that are combative in nature like militaries? I noticed that one of the academy cities had a fleet around it and unless the huntsman are more enlarged then in canon I don’t see them as the sole protectors of humanity just the best.
After everything presented I hope you guys get nothing but, the best support & influx of help for this project! The whole concept did not once turn me away from thinking that this could be it's own tale of a show we can support despite the cannons short-comings. Which is why what really made it for me were the redesigns for are main girls, with Yang winning my heart cause of the dragon of her name coming through. I wish you guys nothing but, good luck, love what your going for, & keep with it!

As a longtime fan, I’m relieved to hear that this is being made out of love/passion, and not just opinionated vitriol towards the canon series. Volume 9, Ice Queendom, Arrowfell, and now this. 2022’s turning out to be quite the year for a RWBY resurgence.
Oh my gosh! You know, when I first watched the opening theme of RWBY volume 1 and when I saw that flying vehicle that Ozpin and Glynda were in, I got this feeling of like this flying mobile school thing like their school took place in the sky and it was always mobile.
I love the idea of Ruby's design. How the red in her design starts out as being mostly hidden, and in time she would adopt a look more akin to her original design where the red is proudly and prominently displayed with her trademark cloak. Idk why, but I kinda imagine it being a gift from Weiss to her after recognizing that yes, Ruby does deserve to be here, and be a leader, despite being younger than everyone around them. Assuming you still go that route, anyway. I think it's the White Rose side of me thinking it'd be really cute to have Weiss who's number 1 character trait in the early episodes being that she was a bitch to Ruby also become the one who, over time, adds the most to Ruby's confidence, self esteem, and social ability. Second only to probably Yang. And SPEAKING OF YANG... BEST. DESIGN. Athletic Asian Women are my weakness. I dunno why. I guess I just love the aesthetic, especially with Yang. It feels like all too often the athletic female characters are the colder, more distant characters in manga and anime. Yet here with Yang I'm over the moon imagining my favorite character aesthetic with frankly what I believe to be the proper personality type to go along with it. If you have the strength to beat the asses of over half the people around you, you should have the shameless confidence to let everyone know it, with dangerous looking smiles and all. So in summary, my favorite design from a thematic, or potential character development perspective would be Ruby's. Meanwhile, Yang is just stealing my heart away with one of my favorite designs I've EVER seen, and in no small part because of the personality that just oozes from it.
I can just imagine her kicking down a door and shouting "yippy kiyay mother f#*kers!!!" Also dear god she is also most likely taller then me... Point is in in love with this Yang design!
Lore's way deeper and philosophical in my opinion and I can't wait for you guys to flush it out. Ruby's new look is amazing. A great blend of V1 and V7 designs. While I am sad to see the red removed from Weiss, I cannot deny how pure snow white looks gorgeous on her. Definitely a fan of the more professional look for Blake and yes tall jeans with a white office shirt fits her so well. The tail was a nice addition, I always wanted Blake to have more animalistic features. Yang look way more punk badass but with enough professionalism to balance it out for a glorious design. Artsyle looks very inticing and colourful. Now I'm just scared for Volume 9 because this preview alone got me more hyped than Volume 7-8 combined.
Finally, a decent, cohesive AU project. I was looking for something other than "RWBY Alternate". Looking forward to what you create. Cool artstyle btw.

Alright, this is just awesome, the ideas for the world building, the academies being flying cities makes them look even more impostant and impactful, like they are really fortresses protected by trained warriors, these ideas are just very creative and entertaining, in my eyes at least, and also I don't know why but I can feel some Destiny 2 vibes in them As for the redesigns, they are really really creative and really fits the personalities of each girl, love how there were used multiple places to einspire each redesign of the main cast and can't wait to see what else you guys have planned for the other characters Also, as a note, I will be honest, I lost interest in Rwby for a while, mainly because the main show really didn't made me feel the same way like how it used to when I first dicovered, however this video, your ideas are reigniting that spark, I can feel my excitement growing with each second I watched the video, can't wait for the project to finally be out and I congratulate you and your team for such amanzing work, keep up the qood work 👍👍😊😊

You should make one of the characters dedicated to exterminating the Grimm and Salem. Not just being a protector but actually taking the Salem threat as serious as possible.

I love the place of motivation your team is coming from in producing this upcoming content. This is interesting to see. It is nice how the flying academies are properly built into this world, and if what I have seen before indicates at anything, this project will be a rather unique take. In a way, it reminds me of fanfiction I'm working on which has a similar mentality (although a completely different approach on how to tell the story). Very intriguing and very nice. As much as I would like to join in, I don't have the lungs for a voice work nor am tech-savvy enough to save my life. At best, I'd probably be good with plotting out story beats and characters arcs (more from my time writing fanfiction), but I think you have a good handle on that. In any case, I do wish for the best.

As you can see, the vibe we're going for with Yang here is very specific and different enough from her canon version that we felt a recast was necessary. Yang's VA is still very much on the team, we just cast her to a different, still important character. :)

I can't wait to see the final product and it all looks great! The designs really say so much, as when showing all four members of RWBY, they are in the same pose, with the hand over their chest, but they are not copy and paste. They may be doing the same action, but their own personality comes out in how they do it, from slight body positions, to clothing, to expressions.
if thats ren at 11:50 he's got some serious yyh vibes going on with that outfit and I am loving it!! and yang pyrrha and nora all visibly buff in a way and the varying body types and heights. im so excited they look so cool! well yang less so buff but she's got the look of a brawler and thats her whole fighting style so
Everything about this is amazing, the redesigns, beacon academy and the Grimm is a sign of people who have done hard work at this project. And it may come out this year, bring on the Huntsmen and Huntresses!

I'm sorry I missed the premiere. But good word. I'm amazed truly I am. I especially love how you tackled Yang. She's always the toughest one for me. Not just for character but also aesthetics. But I am glad you got rid of the tans and browns. The rest are charming. I especially have to give a massive bone breaking thumbs up to the academy sky cities. Many rewrites often neglect the sci fi angle or lean far too much towards it. Granted lol i need to see more of this particular world. But from the previous vids, seems like you got a good balance so far! Hope to see more~

What exactly are the lands dominated entirely by the Grimm outside of the few safe areas like? How big is this world? Why and how was the moon shattered in THIS universe?

Based on what I'm seeing at least, KRWBY has a bit of a favoritism thing when it comes to who can criticize their show. I've been following Remnants for awhile, but I had no idea it'd grown this huge, or become this professional until now; seeing it expand from Syto's kickass design work to the various videos was already a trip and a half, but this? This is bigger than I could've ever imagined, and I am *so* hyped to see RWBY: Remnants grow even more!!
I realy love all RWBy Aus out there who are more character driven. They tend to explore the teams interactions better.
For example Ruby and Blake in episode two seem to have a start of a charcter plotline when they meet and interact for the first time. Their contrasting views of the world (Hopefull huntress in training Ruby who wants to make the world a better place vs Blake who was just like her until she was crushed by cruelty with the White Fang) to later never interact again up until volume 8 compared to the rest of her teamates.
Anyways Im very excited for this project and will be waiting!

I love the musical leitmotifs for team RWBY. Ruby with the Spanish Guitar, Weiss with Piano and Violins, Blake with Piano and Cello, and Yang with Rock Guitar. My personal favorite has to be Blake because of how the Cello and lower strings fit more to Blake and the moody vibe it brings. I remember listening to Blake's leitmotif in Rooster Teeth's score soundtrack (like this one th-cam.com/video/3KDjeQpd_H4/w-d-xo.html), and the Cello is a great pick for Blake alongside the Piano. In my first listen, I thought it was Oboe, which I think can also fit her when played in the lower register.
This is good stuff. I'll be looking forward to this.

Not only will this fan project be out soon, but the RWBY series is getting an official Japanese anime.
For Weiss I'd recommend to keep the red as it was something that kept the design from being too white or too black. For example, if you want to keep the main design with the same color palette, you could make Weiss' scar bigger and red. That way, you can keep the red without changing too much of the Snowpea inspired outfit.

As someone who was very into RWBY and as someone who has steadily lost interest in continuing the story as it progressed, probably for similar reasons as numerous others.. but this looks genuinely intriguing and the open and honest approach that your team seems to be taking on your AU has my hopes up. Im truly looking forward to seeing where you take this

Really appreciate your approach to retelling this story and acknowledging that your work is not above the same criticisms as the original. As much as I am anticipating this project I know me and many others will keep in mind the storytelling and world building to see it as the best it can be.

After re-watching this video numerous times (10 to be precise), I cannot get over Blake and Yang's design. I'm even more amped up to see what Cinder, Roman, and Salem's designs look like. I know that's more down the road and you guys presented Mercury and Emerald in 11:48 and Neo in 11:54. Overall, I'm so hyped up for this project!
Side-Note: I don't know who that is on the left side of Neo in 11:54. I'm thinking Cardin, but who knows?
Side-Note 2: The fact that this is coming out (hopefully) the same year as RWBY: Ice Queendom makes me faint from utter excitement!

I feel as though my only gripe with this is either Weiss's or Yang's uniforms should be changed.
If you were to change Yang, she should be given more of her color yellow. I like the idea of her outfit enough, but the accents on her I feel do not show enough of her signature color to make it feel like her, and her outfit then looks too similar to Blake. Maybe give her a yellowish shirt or give her more yellow on the gloves or bottoms.
If you don't change Yang, I'd suggest Weiss. With the other three, they have the same idea for their outfits, but they have unique attributes to them. Weiss doesn't really have that, and it makes her look out of uniform. Maybe give her a smaller black jacket (like how she wears it in Volume 1) or a black vest, so she can be in uniform with the rest of her team.
I otherwise think this is all fantastic so far. Amazing job to your team!!
I feel like Yang’s uniform is fine, as she can have a bunch of yellow in her combat outfit, but I agree with you on Weiss, something as small as a black vest would massively benefit her and how well she fits with the others
As someone who loves a good story, I am excited to see where you are going with these ideas. The character designs you have planned look crisp and unique and the setting you have planned is solid. Looking forward to the future.

4:10 so apart from the huntsmen are there other human groups that are combative in nature like militaries? I noticed that one of the academy cities had a fleet around it and unless the huntsman are more enlarged then in canon I don’t see them as the sole protectors of humanity just the best.
Loving the source material as well as being excited as hell for this new thing are things that can and should coexist
After everything presented I hope you guys get nothing but, the best support & influx of help for this project! The whole concept did not once turn me away from thinking that this could be it's own tale of a show we can support despite the cannons short-comings. Which is why what really made it for me were the redesigns for are main girls, with Yang winning my heart cause of the dragon of her name coming through. I wish you guys nothing but, good luck, love what your going for, & keep with it!

As a longtime fan, I’m relieved to hear that this is being made out of love/passion, and not just opinionated vitriol towards the canon series.
Volume 9, Ice Queendom, Arrowfell, and now this. 2022’s turning out to be quite the year for a RWBY resurgence.

This looks and sounds absolutely amazing
Oh my gosh! You know, when I first watched the opening theme of RWBY volume 1 and when I saw that flying vehicle that Ozpin and Glynda were in, I got this feeling of like this flying mobile school thing like their school took place in the sky and it was always mobile.
I love the idea of Ruby's design. How the red in her design starts out as being mostly hidden, and in time she would adopt a look more akin to her original design where the red is proudly and prominently displayed with her trademark cloak. Idk why, but I kinda imagine it being a gift from Weiss to her after recognizing that yes, Ruby does deserve to be here, and be a leader, despite being younger than everyone around them. Assuming you still go that route, anyway. I think it's the White Rose side of me thinking it'd be really cute to have Weiss who's number 1 character trait in the early episodes being that she was a bitch to Ruby also become the one who, over time, adds the most to Ruby's confidence, self esteem, and social ability. Second only to probably Yang.
And SPEAKING OF YANG...
BEST. DESIGN.
Athletic Asian Women are my weakness. I dunno why. I guess I just love the aesthetic, especially with Yang. It feels like all too often the athletic female characters are the colder, more distant characters in manga and anime. Yet here with Yang I'm over the moon imagining my favorite character aesthetic with frankly what I believe to be the proper personality type to go along with it. If you have the strength to beat the asses of over half the people around you, you should have the shameless confidence to let everyone know it, with dangerous looking smiles and all.
So in summary, my favorite design from a thematic, or potential character development perspective would be Ruby's. Meanwhile, Yang is just stealing my heart away with one of my favorite designs I've EVER seen, and in no small part because of the personality that just oozes from it.
I can just imagine her kicking down a door and shouting
"yippy kiyay mother f#*kers!!!"
Also dear god she is also most likely taller then me... Point is in in love with this Yang design!

Ruby's new look is amazing. A great blend of V1 and V7 designs.
While I am sad to see the red removed from Weiss, I cannot deny how pure snow white looks gorgeous on her.
Definitely a fan of the more professional look for Blake and yes tall jeans with a white office shirt fits her so well. The tail was a nice addition, I always wanted Blake to have more animalistic features.
Yang look way more punk badass but with enough professionalism to balance it out for a glorious design.
Artsyle looks very inticing and colourful.
Now I'm just scared for Volume 9 because this preview alone got me more hyped than Volume 7-8 combined.

Alright, this is just awesome, the ideas for the world building, the academies being flying cities makes them look even more impostant and impactful, like they are really fortresses protected by trained warriors, these ideas are just very creative and entertaining, in my eyes at least, and also I don't know why but I can feel some Destiny 2 vibes in them
As for the redesigns, they are really really creative and really fits the personalities of each girl, love how there were used multiple places to einspire each redesign of the main cast and can't wait to see what else you guys have planned for the other characters
Also, as a note, I will be honest, I lost interest in Rwby for a while, mainly because the main show really didn't made me feel the same way like how it used to when I first dicovered, however this video, your ideas are reigniting that spark, I can feel my excitement growing with each second I watched the video, can't wait for the project to finally be out and I congratulate you and your team for such amanzing work, keep up the qood work 👍👍😊😊

This is interesting to see. It is nice how the flying academies are properly built into this world, and if what I have seen before indicates at anything, this project will be a rather unique take. In a way, it reminds me of fanfiction I'm working on which has a similar mentality (although a completely different approach on how to tell the story). Very intriguing and very nice.
As much as I would like to join in, I don't have the lungs for a voice work nor am tech-savvy enough to save my life. At best, I'd probably be good with plotting out story beats and characters arcs (more from my time writing fanfiction), but I think you have a good handle on that. In any case, I do wish for the best.

As you can see, the vibe we're going for with Yang here is very specific and different enough from her canon version that we felt a recast was necessary.
Yang's VA is still very much on the team, we just cast her to a different, still important character. :)

I can't wait to see the final product and it all looks great! The designs really say so much, as when showing all four members of RWBY, they are in the same pose, with the hand over their chest, but they are not copy and paste. They may be doing the same action, but their own personality comes out in how they do it, from slight body positions, to clothing, to expressions.
if thats ren at 11:50 he's got some serious yyh vibes going on with that outfit and I am loving it!! and yang pyrrha and nora all visibly buff in a way and the varying body types and heights. im so excited they look so cool! well yang less so buff but she's got the look of a brawler and thats her whole fighting style so
