Thanks man! I bought this truck almost 2 years ago with everything ive done in mind. I knew i needed a flat bed with enough room for a welder and torches, removable gin poles, and still enough space to use the flat bed for hauling.
You need ; slip-ring, brushes, brush rigging. EMF going through bearings causes ; voltage drop. Wasting current at the bearings, you need that current at your rod. They also make 2" pipe flanges and bolt/nut insulator that fits into 2" flanges, they sell them as a kit.
May be a dumb question have you had issue with arcing the bearings? Im in the middle of making a similar set up and thats my only concern, after running rods for a solid shift have you had the bearings stick??
Not at all man. I have a little over 100ft of leads and used them Wednesday for a good 4-5 hours with no issue. The key is to make sure you can't send any positive current to the negative side at all times. Thats why i used that plexiglass type stuff.
Theyre not load bearing bearings, and they can easily be relubricated. It works perfectly for the application of rolling and unrolling my welding leads.
Are you talking about the spools? I cut them with a plasma cutter and welded them to spme pipe, the heat alomg with the thin metal and lack of clamps , warped them
Nice job dude! I’m gonna build myself some a bit different but I’m super stoked you shared the video!
Heck yeah man! Just found your channel looks good!
Great DIY that does the JOB!!! That is all that matters…people will people and say what they can do better…
Great Job!!
Youre absolutely right! I use them daily and they still work amazing!
Thank you buddy!
Your truck is damn near the same idea i had for the past 6 months for mine btw you have best video i found for a gin pole

Thanks for the information 👍 just about to build some
How does your welder connect to your reels?
At 10:45 he'll use little pigtails from machine to reel. By bolting the lead to those tabs he welded on reel side of the defuser.
I have a question do you have another welding Channel because I another Channel and the guy can be your twin
I dont! What channel ?
👌💪💪🔥🔥💎💎💯💯
My question is where the bearings conect to the reel i think that is a weak point?
How so?
Why would you weld on a bearing?
Welding on a bearing will ruin it and burn out on the lubrication out of it.

HogOn
Why are they bent so bad
