No, actually, they aren't words to live by. They are a deepity. Something that is actually really stupid, but to listeners that are even more stupid, sounds to them like it is deep and profound. For instance. Abraham Lincoln. Would you say people aren't sure he did anything at all? Case in point it is a false statement. When you do things right, the effects will be profound. Unfortunately when you do things wrong, the effects will likely also be profound.

Even the devout man did not see God was acting through them. The Holy Spirit is alive and acts through us all. It is said that even the Devil is used by God for his works, showing God's absolute authority and his subtlety.

i don't believe in god...but fry's "i wish i had bender back", and how he "pinged" god hit home. i had this cat, and he started getting this stuff in his eyes. so many cats i had died that way...so i looked him in the face, closed my eyes, and prayed for real for the first time in my life. all i said was "please don't die...". craziest thing? he didn't die. even through more craziness.

TO ANOTHER GALAXY! And not just the next one over! Distance doesn't mean anything in FUTURAMA. "God" gets the signal from Fry in a few seconds, but it might be a million light-years to travel... a LOT of sci-fi is like that. Everything in Space is more or less touching, you run into people you know out at the Galactic Rim, which it only took you a few minutes to reach....

You could also take the stance that, in the absence of any god with total cosmic awareness, your own awareness has the greatest claim to being god within your personal existence-- after all, your own mind is it's ultimate creator in every moment, and is by far the most actionable entity upon your own reality. I like that approach because it emphasizes personal responsibility far more than many religions that would rather leave things in "god's hands".
Why not say your hands are god's hands? You'd just need to take special care as a fallible and finite god.

Hey bro, it's ok. I've met God and he's pretty cool. And how it went down for me was like this. Religion matters~ish. He will work on your training ie Religion, he will work on your hear, expose that you care and grow it, work on faith (this comes in two parts) when you're at a place specifically crafted for you as long as you hope or even wish he will show up. For this period he will stick close by and respond to everything u need in nearly an instant. 2nd part is he will leave you but keep an eye on you)
One to give you something personal to fall back on, and the other to grow your independence. I remember and he showed more then enough proof of himself, but when he left I questioned whether he was there, was he real it's almost amazing how completely different my outlook on the world was. My issue was science, but after my experience shit got a little dark but that little bit of hope and I had came back in unmistakable ways that left me with no room for doubt. Then he answered many of my questions.
Alot of the time it's because of the roll you have. He is always watching out for you. But sometimes he needs you to live your specific experience in this life so that when he comes to meet you, you are learned, experienced, and capable of helping your brothers and sisters with little judgment.
At the point I'm at now he's like a father on one side and a brother on the other. I get dad jokes too.
Experiences may very, but he will never give up on you or leave you.
Question, doubt, fall, fail and then fail again... he will never forsake you.
Just keep walking sibling, are we not God's, if we are is children?

I'm wondering if the god here is actually god, or just pretending to be to teach Bender something. I mean how does god not know English until that moment he spoke to Bender? Or where Earth is, but knows when people are praying to them? If all prayers were reaching them, surely this god would already know these things.
This god didn't even know it was god when Bender asked, they just said it was possible. I might be wrong, but it seems like this god just wanted to help Bender. And thought posing as god was the best way to do so, to teach him not to be so dependent on a god. And not to let people get so dependent on you.
Just a theory though, idk if it'll hold up under scrutiny
