But it was a interesting POV this man had as well. I can agree with him fully regarding all the indulging that the flesh is sought after that can lure us
The coachman is definitely satan in disguised. It makes perfect sense he punishes those that indulged in their vices and have lived a sinful life. In the original that devilish look he gives confirms it all. He is indeed on of Disney’s most underrated, sinister and darkest villains.
I did throw a joke on this version (since Luke Evans, the guy who played Gaston in the 2017 version of Beauty and the Beast plays the 2022 Coachman) stating that "A pirate who looks like the infamous Capt. LeGume killed the old guy from the 1940 version and took his place as the Coachman"
Fun fact: considering the original story was based in Italia, being called a donkey is a synonym there of being told that you are dumb or not intelligent. Same applies in Spanish culture. By the way, original story of Carlo Collodi was even more disturbing. Pinocchio even died hanged at the end, but that ending was changed after some demands.
In the 1940s version if you hear the boy running around he says help help I've been framed, but he doesn't say it clearly and it sounds closer to raped. And jimney says Pinocchio as he only has ears and a tail, and says let's get you out of here before you get worse. As in more corrupted to the worst extent.

As crazy as it is. Something brought me to this video. About how once they indulge they never escape and as i got into the Bible i remember reading how the devil hides in plain sight openly deceiving people into believing he doesn't exist as hes trying to drag as many people to hell as possible. Then i came across a meme about the transformation in Pinocchio which tied it together (ive never seen Pinocchio so i never knew it was in the same movie!) followed up by searching pleasure island and finding your video. Dude, me realizing how terrifying pleasure island was all those years ago, the donkey transformation was definitely dark when it was lampwick, but seriously learning how terrifying it is now............😨
I often seem to make a jackass out of myself because when I was free to do what I wanted to do and was not going to be told no, after a while because my behaviour seemed cheeky and mischievous, I kept getting donkey brays in my laugh. Fortunately, I didn't transform into a donkey....🤣🤣🤣
While I actually love the live action version, I still prefer the original. Also honestly, this scene was SCARY. (Yes I love this version too be nice) 1:28 Also I laughed at that line tbh 😂
Loved your explanations in this video. I feel a lot of things in this movie only make sense by giving it some thought, not quickly judging something based on what you saw or what you didn't see. Robert Zemeckis stated that people need to use their heads not their eyes for somethings. I feel contended that a lot of things in this movie are misunderstood and while there were some things that I didn't like such as the poop scene and a few other scenes, it never deserved any Raspberry Awards.
I took it ... That the big corporate sell little children.... And do what ever they want to them. Especially take there innocent. Henceforth they turn in to donkey's (aka asses) . Poor unfortunate souls (🤣) well that's my opinion of it anyways.
In the original Italian novel the Coachman is described as.simply.luring children, with no specific mention of gender. It was English translations that described them exclusively as boys.

1. Desire is not evil. Disordered or inordinate desire is. When we become slaves to our passions is when things go wrong. When our passions an appetites rule us, instead of us ruling over them, that is when we get into trouble. When we act on our desires in a manner that is opposed to reason, live life not according to reason, but according to whatever we happen to feel like doing, that's when everything goes to hell. This is a recipe for misery and self-destruction as the lower appetites are unruly and must be ruled over by reason and disciplined to play their part correctly. They were created by God, so they are good per se, just unruly because of original sin. Original sin did not destroy goodness, it merely corrupted us and introduced into us concupiscence. The lower appetites and passions are like a beast; the rider is reason. The beast needs the rider to restrain it and direct it toward its proper end. 2. The sun does not revolve around the earth. Stop making a mockery our of Christianity with this nonsense. The descriptions in the Bible are not meant to be scientific or literal. We still say that the sun rises and sets. It's a phenomenological description that is used illustratively in the Bible, not literally, and Scripture does not hinge on a literal reading of the sun and earth's rotations. Say no to fundamentalism (a recent 20th century development in Christianity).
Excellent video dude. It’s great to see someone approach this movie and scene from a Christian perspective.
