      I've been looking for a sock pattern that I didn't have to deal with the heal.. I need to make them longer though.. Luke knee high length-- what section on pattern I need to add more yarn to in order to reach my knees and not be so tight around?

I have crocheted and knitted socks before and I prefer the traditional way to make a sock-very simple! I stumbled upon this pattern this morning and I’m currently finishing up the cuff of the first sock. I’m using little heavier than worsted weigh yarn. While it’s a fast pattern as I’ll have this completed by Thursday it’s taken me a whole day of working on it it’s 12:30 am now.
    I’m making these into slipper socks for my moms Christmas present. This pattern is very straightforward and easily customizable. Like I’m doing a shorter ribbed cuff. I made all the gifts I’m giving all crocheted because it’s faster. I’m really on a crochet kick. This won’t be my last pair of these socks. I have puffy fabric paint I plan on using on the soles of these socks to make them nonslip.

    • @Sarah-with-an-H
      @Sarah-with-an-H 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@razanhassan909 I went by the video instructions for measuring the foot the width of the foot and the ankle. The socks where a Christmas present for my mom. She prefers shorter cuffs so using the same hook size I did a couple less rows of half double crochet and for the cuff I followed your instructions but instead of 6 stitches I did 4 stitches. I also added puffy fabric paint on the sole of the foot once I stitched the whole sock together. Her feedback is the slipper-socks are the most comfortable socks she now owns. I made them out of yarn that was about American worsted weight or slightly thicker. I used a hook that was just easy to crochet with with the yarn I was using and focused on getting the measurements right. It's going to be a go to pattern for me now. I had the socks completely finished in 3 days. I'm not the fastest at crocheting but that's still really fantastic I made them with less than a week till Christmas.

    Hi Bruna. Thank you so much for the instructions for the tricolor socks. You are very good teacher very detailed instructions given in a calm way. I loved it. It was my first pair of socks I made, after having witnessed my Nonna make socks for the whole family, including me. She knitted them with 5 needles, I keep one sock she made for me when I was very young.
    I followed your instructions and was very easy. I did have a problem with the ribbing, not your fault, I could not see well what I was doing, so I did a couple of extra rows.

    Hi. I already knew this method for knitting but this is the first time I see it in crocheting. And I loved it. I also loved your explanations, the tips and tricks and that you gave the sizes in many countries including Brazil, as I am Braziliam ! We are in Autumn, so it's time to begin making socks! Our Winter is not so cold as in the US ou in Europe, but in the south, were I live, it's colder than in other regions of the country, só socks are good gifts. Thanks for your video!.

I don’t know how to do naalbound ribbing, though… Might have to omit that bit lol; just do the larger top bit in a slightly different stitch. Thanks for the pattern! I’m so excited right now I had to stop the video immediately and say something. My daughter loves hoodies and I make several every year for her, my granddaughter, my nieces and myself. My daughter always wants sleeves with thumb holes and a front kangaroo pocket. The pocket never looks like I want it to so she only has one right now with the pocket. I have 3 more that are almost finished except for the pockets. The problem is that they don’t look smooth when I do the decrease stitching. The way you do the decrease with the half double is exactly what I needed to know to make my pocket look like it is supposed to. The first one I did I actually just wrapped the yarn around the last and first stitch of each row multiple times to smooth it out. This worked for that sweater because I used a light weight yarn and I tightly wrapped it so there’s no space between the strands. When I have tried it with the heavier yarn it looks so bulky that I had to pull it out. I can’t wait to go back and try this method. I could easily see from your video how it works and it looks awesome. Thank you so much.

      @@english_with_arina6853 All of the lengths and widths are customizable. Rather than following the exact stitch and row counts in the video, work each section to your foot size. So you start with however many stitches needed to cover your foot width, decrease for a few rows, increase for a few rows, then do the bottom of the foot to the length you need, and repeat those sections. Then you can make the ankle any width you need by adding or removing stitches.

    I think this pattern would look beautiful with double layer socks/slippers too, for example fluffy yarn on the inside and whatever color on the outside when you crochet the sock together you could do both sides simultaneously making them stuck together I definitely will experiment😊

      That's actually a really good idea! Would be EXTRA COZY! If you try that let me know how it went! You made it want to try that out too now! hehehehe 😍😍
