Am currently dealing with this, We live in a single wide mobile home and they have like 5 entrances. My roomate used to leave cat food outside. The cat comes inside now so no more need to leave it outside. Mating season is a nightmare I think we have a single female and 3-4 different males show up each night to take an opportunity at her. Between her fighting them and spraying and the males fighting each other and spraying. My roomates nose must not work. The stench drives me insane. I am in the process of blocking their access to under the house. They are so damn tenacious. You really have to take great efforts and measures. You can't just put some rocks or boards they just dig under them. There is no way I am going under there. I have a camera set up on the one closest to my room once the others are closed hoping to see when they go out for the night then close that one up too.. and PRAY they are gone. Precautionary tale. Sure they are cute but our dogs have to be kept in, the dogs lose their minds when they hear them fighting/ mating under the house, I am losing sleep. moth balls haven't worked, pine sol hasn't worked. cayenne pepper another fail There is no way I am going to let her have her babies under there.
Hey Danielle, I really feel your frustrations. I'm not sure if you are at this point or able to exhaust a lethal countermeasure, but I can highly recommend anything by the Brand: OUELL. Google them. Just be really careful if you plan to use it in a place where you have your other pets going. One thing you can do, is mount the trap securely with hardware to a long piece of wood. Something like a 2x4 perhaps, then you can slide the trap deep underneath your residence in a place that hopefully is only accessible to the skunks. Not ideal, may not be legal to dispatch animals like this in some cities, but hey...if all else fails and you are willing to do this, it's kind of like the final measure...
Thanks for posting. We put drop lights under our crawl space little basstds probably use it to warm their young. Next were going with the kids halloween strobe light. hopefully lights will keep them away. We also put hot chilli pepper under there.
Did you smell skunk poop come up from the crawl space? If so was it a strong smell? The spray just fills our house and the smell of poop woke me up. Trying to kid ourselves it was dogs outside me window but probably not!

I finally trapped mine after a month and half of doing all the things you tried except the strobe light. I trapped it and relocated it.
That's awesome news Rhonda. I had tried traps for a good bit but couldn't get them to take the bait. What sort of bait ended up working well for you?
They love Carmel popcorn. Make a trail of the Carmel popcorn, leading up to the trap. Then throw some in the back of the trap. Caught 4.
