THANKS FOR DOING THIS I’ve been looking for ages for vids on ltu couldnt find nothing n then i saw your video and its made me excited to move into uni xxx
Hi, sorry to ask but im from Ireland and have got an offer from leeds trinity. I just havent a clue about the place and wont get to see it in real life because of coronavirus. What is it like? is being out of the city a bit a pain for the nightlife and such or is it okay? loved the video :)
Hi! Congrats on the offer! I absolutely love it - we're about 20-30 minutes from the city centre, so you have a nice mix of city with countryside. There's one bus that takes you right outside of university into town (I think it ends around 11pm/midnight), but there are other local buses too that are about a 10-15 minute walk down the hill and go to town and other areas. We do have a discount with one of the local taxi companies too, so you know there are several safe ways for you to get home from a night out. Uni also have a shuttle bus to help us get to the local Morrisons, train station, and doctors, so its really easy to get about. If you think you'll travel a lot via train or bus, I would highly recommend looking into a 16-25 rail card or the term passes that First Bus provide (they run the majority of the buses in Leeds, including the one that goes to uni) - trains are cheap (about £2-4 for a ticket to the city centre), but buses can cost around about £6 for a day ticket. Feel free to have a look at my instagram (@Becca_LTU) for photos and videos that show the area off a bit (or to ask more questions), and check out Lydia Violeta as she goes to Leeds uni (so many of her videos show the city centre). I'm hoping to edit my videos from freshers and the start of uni soon, so hopefully they may answer your questions too!
Hey, sorry for the late reply! I'm not too sure for January intake - I believe it may only be September, but you can always email the university for more info!
Hey! To be fair, I don't feel like I know enough to comment on whether it's diverse or not. I believe it is, and I know that there is support available from the student council (there is a BAME officer) and the university. I would highly recommend exploring the Leeds Trinity Student Union website/Facebook page if you want more info, and you can always ask questions there!
