I hope you love it, its your car, but all I can see is how much wider your tires could be....Curious....you seem more focused on the aesthetics than the performance, why did you spend on the STI vs WRX?
Yes I did spend a lot on the looks of my car. I did this since I didn't want to go down the performance hole of wanting to always add more power. I also don't drive the car year round so it's stock power never got boring to me. But if you look in my later videos I did do a fair amount of performance upgrades. I also went for the STi since it's what I've always wanted, the engine, 6 speed sti transmission, 6 piston brembos, Recaro seats, and the sound. Overall a more premium feeling car in my opinion. But more power will come eventually, I do promise you that.
@@zach_lush You didn't mention the suspension....one of the biggest differences. If you love it, that's all that matters. I love it just because you do. Doesnt matter what my taste is, and anyone who tells you anything different isn't really a car guy. But as far as performance, whether straight line or going around corners, I think you'll be looking for a much larger contact patch in the future. Your fitment, while not my taste (I'm old) does look pretty good. But you could have a GREAT driving car, just a little bit higher, with a little nicer ride, and 9.5" wide tires that would run circles around your setup. And it'd look better IMO.
@@zach_lush I did, most importantly, mean to say, strong work on making a video to show everyone how easy it is to do an alignment at home. Saves $80 a pop at the cheapest shops, up to $200 at others.
@clamboni9 thanks, I'd like to consider myself an all around car guy, I love all types of setups and builds. Also you are absolutely right, having a smaller wheel would allow for a wider tire and give me a ton more grip. However, currently I've had zero issue with grip (surprisingly), but its currently setup for looks! I don't think I'll have this wheel setup forever but currently with my power level I'll probably keep it for awhile. I'm sure once grip becomes an issue I'll be ditching it and getting some coilovers for the car.
@@clamboni9 thank you, I appreciate it! For most people I'm sure it makes most sense to get a shop to to your alignment, but I like to challenge myself and try something new. I take great pride in saying I do majority of my work, big or small! I'm also a cheap ass so that helps too haha!
i got alignmented but im gonna need to try this.
If your a cheap ass it's a good trick, but takes a lot of time.
