Get a cat. Million of cats would love to meet you and be your forever kitty - just choose one (or two). Cats are sooo much better than kittens; all kittens are cute but cats have 'personality' and you can pick the one (or two) that suit your lifestyle; a cuddle-puss, an independent character; one who loves to play or one who only sleeps on your lap ... I adopted an adult cat and that was one of the best things I ever did in my entire life. Go get a kitty!
Drunk Vegan Gal Not everyone can get a cat. They might not have enough money or not have the right home for it. My brother and I want to get a cat, but we can't change the fact that the last person who owned our mom's house let their cat "mark it's terrritory" everywhere.
If51aj - there are cat fostering programs at most no-kill rescue shelters. Fostering is a great option for you and kitty. You get the company of a cat till it can find a forever home and cat gets to relax in your place instead of a cage or crate in a shelter. They pay for vet bills and usually food and litter too. Although cats marking is a problem for some kitties - others wouldn't ever pee outside their box ^..^< I don't know about Zeeahko's situation; landlords can be anti-cat as well :(
I found my silver marbled bengal kitten at an L.A. county shelter. Look in shelters before buying! The mother was also in the shelter with 5 other kittens.
My mom and I also found one in a shelter, and then a year later a stray started showing up on our doorstep. They both had extreme behavioral problems and would destroy a lot of stuff in the house, so yes people often buy them and put them up for adoption later when they realize it's too much

The dogs and cats in these shows compete from young ages and are very well trained and socialised. If a dog is sensitive to noise or movement, that’s a sign for an anxiety problem and of course owners at these shows wouldn’t keep them in that environment
These professional animal trainers will say anything to defend their abusive practices, these animals are their slaves, they make an easy living from them. Circus animal trainers say the same things and they’re mostly out of business now.
Yea it could be overwhelming for the cats and dogs at the shows at times but I think some cats and dogs love the extra attention haha By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel just might change someone’s life!
As Bengal owner I strongly advise people not to get these designer wild cats. It's not fair to them to be confined and restricted away from their wild nature. They're just TOO MUCH CAT for most people. Once the novelty wears off, then you're stuck with a very energetic cat you can't deal with. very-very few people can provide an adequate home for these cats. NEVER GET AN ANIMAL BASED ON LOOKS! they never say what they do with all the cats that don't make the grade?
They sell the ones that don't make the grade after they get them fixed. That way they control the future look of the breed, but people who want them can have them. But I agree that F1s shouldn't be sold to city dwellers. But for farmers and people with lifestyle properties, it should be an option as long as they realise the commitment they're getting themselves in for. Some people want that much cat.
I have an F5 and an F6, both rescues. My F5 Princess is well behaved and looks wild. My F6 Fluffy is alternately scary or cuddly, possibly because she was abandoned and bottle fed, and looks nothing like a Bengal.
I have a bengal and he’s absolutely beautiful!! As I’m typing this right he’s on my back looking over my shoulder 😂 it sounds like you can’t handle your bengal..
My two rosetted bengals are both purebred rescues, which is quite rare to find. They had been dumped in a plastic bag and left in a rubbish bin, all because Luna had a 'too short' tail, and Kuro had a missing leg. I love my Luna and my Kuro, and I'm so thankful for the amazing person who found them.
Wild simmer there's is a stray Bengal running around my neighborhood from the glance I got of her. Absolutely gorgeous. We tried to trap her, but she was too smart. I've never seen her since.. But she was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. better than the cats in those pictures. She didn't have the stripes, just straight up spots.
Thank you for rescuing! My first two Bengals were rescues and fantastic pets. I now have a retired breeder Bengal and a rescued F1 Bengal. Rescues are great and in the future I do plan to rescue more Bengals. They are, in my opinion, the most wonderful pets.
I own two pure breed Bengals named Anubis and Hermes. Hermes tail is shorter than it should be, he has a unusual nose shape without the dip in the nose bridge(I can't even really see and has no negative health effects) and he is overall stockier than most Bengals. He has shorter legs and is much more muscular and not as skinny than other Bengals. Makes him unsuitable for breeding somehow. He just turned 2 a few weeks ago and he is perfectly healthy and a sweet cat. Anubis had a typical Bengal body but his coat doesn't have the most desirable markings/rosettes. Both of them are awesome boys and we love then to pieces. They come from the same breeder but aren't related at all. Which was important to me. I don't want beautiful cats. It want happy and healthy cats.
@Oritra Kar in my opinion, adopting can help cats without homes. Your opinion is still valid because breeding is good(if you want specific cat breed). And every cat is better not just bred cats.
That Woman that was breeding them basically said, "I know there's an overpopulation of cats right now but I don't care, I want this cat." Honestly as cool as these cats are they'll probably end up being more prone to problems. It's not worth the damage just to have a cat that looks like like a tiger.😔
Liam Lab lets be honest. When ppl get tired of these cats (which I’m sure will happen since they get treated like a show piece) they’re gonna be abandoned. Like huskies and wolf dogs.
It’s funny that we went overboard with dog breeding. I have a Weenie Dog and I’ve done lots of research of how to care for her. Then I came to a stop..a video that showed how we corrupted the dogs heritage...(I think). The German Shepherd is shorter and is fatter than it was. My dogs breed has a longer body and if not hold correctly, its spine can be cracked(or broke ). The pugs face is more spatted in , and you can barley see the muzzle (that’s why they have breathing problems). But my point is that I hope they don’t go *TOO* overboard like we did to the dogs. Hopefully they do it carefully like they said. :)
yes!! unfortunately we're sort of well on our way there with munchkins and persians. they're cute (well... some of them; i'll never understand the smushed face appeal), but there's something vaguely horrific about willfully choosing traits that you know will decrease their quality of life just because you think it's cute.

Back in the Victorian times and a little after that, they looked a lot more like other cats and didn't have the pug-like face. Sure, they have adorable faces, I think, but they have problems due to the noses they now have. They were perfectly beautiful before. There's always going to be people that think that they can be good owners until they don't want the pets any more. Stopping breeding won't stop pets being abandoned
My parents had an elderly Ragdoll cat with no hunting skills or killer instinct. The local birds loved to flutter around and make fun of.her. When she died, my dad got two young Bengals, and sadly a feathery bloodbath ensued.
Alexander Oquendo nope, not kidding you. A domesticated animal can be perfectly content living with humans. Cats, dogs, horses, etc. have evolved for thousands of years to live in human conditions. Dogs can digest kibble, cats can live in houses there entire lives. An exotic pet has needs that a suburban family can’t heed to. How happy do you think a tiger that lives in a cage in someone’s yard is? A wild bird that’s lived it’s entire life flying long distances being out into a space they can barely stretch their wings? Exotic pets and domesticated pets are different.

Overpopulation is not coming from these cat breeders. It’s coming from everyday people who pick cats up from god knows where and never get them fixed, then dump them outside or let them out unsupervised. Bengals are $5000+, nobody is dumping that out on the street, and most if not all are fixed before purchase because breeding licenses are hard to get and required.
I personally shop but that's because I have cat and dog allergies so I want to make sure that I get a purebred cat or dog that's hypoallergenic because I get sinus infections around non-hypoallergenic pets. However, I do agree that people should adopt and not shop because there are lots of animals in shelters that need homes.
Yep, I’ve found that it’s pretty rare to see a purebred cat in the shelter. I was looking at ragdolls, which led to long haired cats in general. And there are very few being regimes, and if you research breeders, it’s often the same people going back to get another after one of theirs dies, or gets old.
i dont think you what breeding is, they're not being experimented on, they just choose the partners of this cats to breed with that's all. They are taken care of and loved
Selective breeding isn't the cause of all the cat overpopulation, it's unspayed and unneutered cats producing much too many offspring that causes the overpopulation.
Yeah, I agree people should also not be letting their cats out to rome free in the first place. We should accompany them on walks similarly to what we do with dogs.
And the fact that we need to neuter/spay feral cats in a catch-and-release program. I would like for people to "tame" them but that requires a lot of time that could be better spent providing for a cat that isn't unnerved by the presence of a human.
@Sea Level Cain And that's the problem, morons and ignornts adopting animals they know nothing about. But there are selective breeding that is good, I think these cats are fine as you see the breeders really care about the health too. The problem is when someone wants to breed for a stupid reason like French Bulldogs or Pugs that can't even breathe right.
I'm glad they mentioned the fact that there are so many shelter cats. I love these wild patterns too but can't justify it to myself until cats are no longer being euthanized for no good reason is shelters and living on the streets.
As a veterinarian who has seen bengals and savanna cats in practice, I think it is important to warn people that these two breeds are much more likely to be aggressive than your average domestic shorthair. I have met friendly bengals but they are the rarity not the norm. If you really want one of these cats I recommend getting one that's at least 9 months old and has a friendly disposition. Also visit your breeder's facility and see if the animals they are using for breeding have good dispositions. While you may want a tiny leopard or serval in your home, I am sure you would prefer a cat that lets you pet it.
My two bengals are daft as a brush but they only show agression to each other and it's more like wrestlemania. In 9 months I've only seen them hurt each other (nipping ears rather than anything serious) twice. Any scratches on us have been accidental (hadn't trimmed their nails and they jumped over us to get chase a fly or similar) or during play. They are defintely willful and energetic but I have been late for work several times because they were being so cuddly. I agree with meeting the parents. Our cat's parents seemed very calm and good natured. I read somewhere that you should avoid any breeder who won't let you see the parents.
That's awesome :). I have met friendly Bengals, don't get me wrong! But they tend to be more likely to bite me than the average cat. That being said 90% of cats hate the vet, so even cats that are great at home may be aggressive here. I have had more than one owner of Bengals tell me they would have gone with a different breed had they known that Bengals tend to be more aggressive. I have had two owners who expressed regret at purchasing their Bengal because they cannot pet or hold their cat. I think there are Bengal breeders who care about temperament like those in the video, and others that just care about looks.
Yeah, it sounds like bad breeders. Bengals certainly need a lot of attention and things to do and they can be quite vocal too. Ours went to the vet yesterday and yelled all the way. Once let out one of them was totally chilled and the other went and hid behind the vet's computer and refused to come out. One of the reasons they were there was to get a tick removed and even then he tensed up but was OK. I suppose it's the same with normal cats. If the breeder sucks or the initial owner does then the cat grows up mean. It's the same with raising children. :-)
Clandes7ine Indya I find bengals take a lot longer to adapt to new environments, and while they can be super friendly, it's usually them petting you, not the other way round. You can't treat a bengal like a house cat, it's definitely a wild thing, and owners who try and treat their bengals like one breed distrust, anger and dissent in their animals, which can lead to aggression. It's taken 4 years for our cat to settle down to the point where you can stop her and pet her while she is walking around the house. I also feel that you shouldn't get a bengal to be an indoor cat, and they require a large roaming outdoor territory. While I am sure there are bad bengals and bad breeders out there, I'm certain it's more down to bad owners.
as long as the cats are being bred responsibly and given good love and treatment i don't see any problem with this. humans have been selectively breeding since the first days of agriculture
El canal de Tomy: Videojuegos que compartir Actually they do, even if you aren't able to see them. For example, 60% of golden retrievers die of cancer - it's just part of the faulty DNA we bred them to have
Dogs that are being selective breeding like this, often suffer from horrible sides effects; so this could also happen to cats as well. There's also, an awful lot of over population of cats (mostly feral and stray cats). Which can be VERY bad, for numerous of reasons. These are things to just keep in mind. www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/dogs-that-changed-the-world-selective-breeding-problems/1281/ m.humanesociety.org/issues/pet_overpopulation/ www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-21236690

i share my life w/two rescued bengals, littermates named ben and jerry. they're 19 years old. we'll have been together 15 years in december. bengals have a certain blood curdling scream they like to make, esp in the early mornings. it sounds like they're going to shred their vocal cords. i've learned how to do it, and we yell and scream at each other. it's our morning game. they're exceedingly lovable, and the smartest cats i've ever met. and yes, i am biased :))
@@michellemooresings let's not confuse socialization with putting a cat outside their environment with hundreds of people. They're territorial animals and very cautious, even the most social cat will feel overwhelmed and stressed on this situation.
As gorgeous as these are and no matter how mouth watering it is for me to be able to hug and pet one, I can't justify overlooking those millions in shelters who are desperate for loving permanent homes. Another thing that really enrages me is that most, of not all, people who buy these end up breeding them (often irresponsibly) to make money. I am told that breeders who sell them charge twice as much for the un-neutered ones, but people don't mind paying up because they can make it all back...and then some.
So what if there’s millions in shelters? People have the liberty to buy what they want, and besides, our own domestic cats had to undergo a selective process to acquire the vast variety of cost colourations that we already have. Just euthanise the cats in the shelters if they’re too much in number.
That’s how “breeding” any animal works… the worry I have is one of the bengal cars getting loose & breeding with other feral cats… 🐈+🐆=☠️to bird populations in the US
Night Shadow Breeders are a problem, and its not just people who abandon cats but also the overpopulation from unfixed cats reproducing. Those people who are buying from breeders could be adopting from shelters with many healthy cats and kittens that are at risk for being euthanized.
Yep, that's why TNR should be applied to ferals and strays everywhere. Not only does it prevent future cat overpopulation, the neutered cats won't be miserable from being in heat all the time
Yes, but those cats are in those shelters because of people abandoning them and/or irresponsible breeding (just thinking: i'd like my cat to have kittens and not having anyone who wants to adopt them). I don't see why breeding is even an issue, there are also a lot of human orphans, yet the same people advocating cat adoption only do get pregnant and never adopt a child.
I mean, I specifically wanted a ragdoll mix with short hair but a sweet temper. You won't find that in a shelter. And ever since I got her, people are like oh my god she is beautiful and sweet, if you ever breed her I want to buy one. Never said that I'm going to breed her, I don't know yet, but I believe that's very different from just letting your cat wander outside to get pregnant by any stray and then finding out when the litter is born, then not being able to find homes for them because no one is interested in another "average" cat, etc.
6:01 is just kinda awful? i think adopting a rescue cat is a better option but im not gunna judge some one for getting a pure bred cat, but that lady makes it sound like the thousands of cats dying in shelters dont matter because her "prettier" cats are worth more and better. she talks about them like objects and its frustrating,,

It's possible but highly unlikely that someone will be able (without a dna lab) to create a cat breed like those dogs that can't survive without humans to care for them. Cats are predators (proper dogs are too). Don't believe me, just watch them hunt. This is Nature we are talking about, only the strongest breeds will survive by themselves with no handouts..... Edit: they are beautiful tho..... Fierce I'll bet too.....
The character of the cat is more important than the looks. Black cats can be very fierce. Scottish folds are often clean and more homey. Some cats just yell to get out all the time, while others are happy to be lazy at home and create less trouble for the owner.
epSos.de I have zero clue where you got your black cat information from but it isn’t true at all. Black cats tend to have unique personalities but they are most definitely NOT fierce by nature. No cat is.
well i have a black cat but she is very playful and nice to me. if she didn't see me just for a night she will look for me untuil she found me. i love cat. no matter what color is it.
Black cat is not even a breed, it's a simple American short hair or American long hair (at least that's what I know). I have a black cat and he is very sweet, outgoing, and curious. Even then it doesn't explain the whole picture. All cats have different personalitys, same breed or not. I know that some breeds may be more interested into food or wild, but that's it.
Everyone's here arguing over adopt or shop, but my argument is that if LOADS more people actually did research on animals before buying them as pets, adopt vs. shop wouldn't be an issue. Please, everyone, consider your life with a pet similarly as you would consider having a baby. They are both expensive, require lots of time and effort, need to be taught life skills, and need proper nutrition/space/enrichment. DO YOUR RESEARCH and really consider if a pet is right for you, and if so, which breed/species. Adopt from a shelter or shop from a reliable breeder.
PangoPixel I do agree with what your saying to a point but part of what your missing is that there are already cats in the shelters far before these people started making more cats. Whether or not they’re cool looking is not justification for adding to the problem. That’s just another version of ignorance when it comes to owning pets. People are only concerned about what they want out of an animal rather than treating it like a living being
@@wyvernnymph5757 Responsible owners don't choose an animal based on just how cool it looks, there are several factors. Some people want a specific temperament to match their lifestyle, or want to avoid problems with the animal's health or mind. Some folks need hypoallergenic breeds. You can't always get that from shelters, which often have mixed breeds and animals that need special care/training. My point is that if more people DID start treating their animals like living things and realized the care they need, there would be less animals in shelters in the first place, and we would mostly get our pets from good breeders. "Adopt don't shop" is a fine sentiment, but I feel like it's disrespectful to the pet owners who choose to buy from ethical breeders and treat their animals to the best of their abilities, but because they didn't save an animal from the shelter they're bad people I guess?
@@0hnutty455 it's the same as people who turn an ignorantly blind eye to the conditions puppies from Mills live in. It's nothing short of sadistic and barbaric abuse, but they don't care, they just want that cute little puppy...
yes don't get a dog if you can't take care of a dog, or cat for that matter.. i've had my cat for years and he still surprises me sometimes they are hunters by nature and if let outside will kill on average 12-13 animals for sport... look at australia's problem with introducing cats without spaying and neutering.. TLDR: cats will destroy an entire ecosystem for fun
Domesticating is much different than breeding these cats for the reason “I can’t have this, so I’ll make this.” It is nice seeing this, but it’ll cause many problems.
I had two bengal cats, which were the cats bred with leopards to get the pattern of their fur, and they were absolutely wild. They’d go on top of the wardrobe and jump from wardrobe to wardrobe and even climb ladders as well as get on ceiling beams and climbed whatever was tall. Apparently had some mice in the roof that they killed before me and my mom even knew of their existence. They didn’t like physical attention much, always jumping out of our arms and allowing pets at most and yet never preened against our legs either (we allowed them to get on our beds, but they didn’t cuddle and sleep on your chest or neck like usual cats do). They are good cats for those who have pests often and don’t like cats who are all too clingy and affectionate, though those who want cats to grab and kiss and cuddle with are better off adopting a different breed unless you want a domesticated animal to clean up any pests.
I am a huge advocate of adopt don’t shop, but I think it’s important to support good breeders as they keep species lines healthy. The sad fact is, most of the cats in rescues don’t have the best health. They may not different genetic and health defects, and while they may make for amazing pets, in the future, the species of cats will suffer. Breeders like these help keep a line of extremely healthy cats. I’m not sure if that’s exactly made sense, it’s less about the shelter cats being sick and more about them not being a perfect representation of their breed. They may have long legs or small ears, all of which are fine and still make for great pets but it’s important to still Worry about the species and the breed as a whole.
i think one of the reasons for that (the unhealthines in shelters) is puppy/kitten mills that just breed for profit (meaning they dont care about inbreeding) people will buy something from a "breeder"(meaning a mill but people buying do not know this because they didnt do much research) and then they see it gets sick or its not what they thought it would be and so then they get rid of said animal always research breeders and ask your local trusted vet because they will know a good breeder
MiiaBournewold yes well said! Most petstores that say they get their animals from reputable breeders are lying Also not all home breeders are good breeders and often lack the proper paperwork or knowledge. If you want an animal from a breeder, you have to be willing to pay. If you don’t have the budget, go to a shelter.
Actually inbreeding, which is common when your goal for the offspring relates to their appearance, is off course more common if you are getting your cat from a breeder, rather than adopting it. This increases the chances of genetically inherited diseases as it increases the degree of homozygousity in the offspring. Additionally, if you buy a cat the cats in shelters don't just disappear, they still usually breed plenty before dying which just further contributes to the cat overpopulation problem, so even if their genes were for some reason less fit, they'd still be contributing them to the population and possibly in much higher numbers as this is less likely to occur if they are given a good home and spayed or neutered.
Proffessional cat breeding in general is better controlled than most dog breeding. Most cat breeders breed for color and pattern and registered breeders are very careful to prevent inbreeding unlike many dog breeders. In general carefully bred cats are far more healthy and have less defects than most common domestic cats you find in shelters or on the streets because many of those cats are severely inbred.
Nyla Vox ASMR I own a Bengal and she was an adopted cat. The owner had other cats and the Bengal was too energetic for the other cats. Even though she was less than a year old. She was out playing the other adult cats. These people aren't the problem. People who abandon their animals are. I've owned 3 cats. My first as a child lived for 18 years and died when I was 23. My adopted cat died after only 1 year as she was an old cat. And now I'm 28 I saw a Bengal and I wanted a Bengal. I would never abandon a pet that isn't something in my DNA. People who decide to buy a pet should be well aware of what they are getting into.
I don't really have a problem with the breeders, (when they are responsible,) and for some folks, that's the only way to have a cat. I have friends who bought a hypoallergenic Burmese due to allergy issues. I've gone with adoption for decades, and my last adoption was a Bengal Hybrid. Far and away the sweetest, smartest, biggest cat I've had.
I did. I adopted a rescue part-Bengal that was 12 weeks old. It had been dumped somewhere proabably because the owners probably assumed it could not be trained, and it was very inquisitive and active. Some idiot had taught the cat that during intense snuggling, it was supossed to bite the human oin the nose. I have decades of training my own pets cats and it was love at first sight. We had an instant connection and when I asked if he wnated to go home with me, he understood and immediately beagn loving on me as hard as he could. He was eager to learn because he loved me and he foudn the lessons enriching and meatlly stimulating. Cat boredom is the enemy.
Victoria Vamos Right?! Some of these exotic pet owners want the “look” but have the cat have a domesticated temperament?! Good luck as long as those cats have wild genes in their blood, the more difficult it is to deal or handle a cat - especially an F1 since is essentially a wild cat... these cats most likely will be abandoned based on that difficultly adding further to the shelter problem. But hey.. justification, right?
lol, noob. Selectively breeding for personality is really easy and is simply done on top of breeding for optics. Also, fancy high-end cats never stay at a shelter for more than a day, its like a ferrari in working condition showing up at a low-level used car dealership.
i mean.... we kind of already do that. We all have preferences in people with their looks, it's kind of an unconscious decision, but we do mate with our eyes.

As long as those cats not chosen for breeding find good homes and there are no major health conditions that result from the selective breeding, I have no problem with them.
Some domestic cats already have a hint of a mane. A little lion cat would be cute, but I'm not sure it wouldn't be harder than the Bengals and Toygers.
I don't think they can. No lions can be bred with domestic cats as said within the video. And it's gonna take a long time to make a cat naturally have the physical characteristics of a lion. I know it's a joke but I just wanna leave it here
"Just look at these cats, I mean, you look at them and it makes all the breeding worth it" no, you can get the same, or better personality depending on how you treat the cat by just going to an animal rescue league.
My mother rescued a Bangel cat, Monkey, from a neighbor. He is domesticated but still a little wild. He picks fights with strays and even chases our other domestic cats around the house. If not let out he will ruin the carpets. He likes to be held for a short time, something even the domestic female cats hate, and has a loud purr and cries like a baby. He is fun to chase around the house and is not afraid of dogs. He even likes being touched by visiting friends and neighbors.
David Smith we actually show cats. When I go to cat shows there's many bengals and a few breeders. Just look up a bengal cattery and you can possibly get one.
Or you could just realise that these animals weren’t put on earth for humans to change and alter? If you want a cat because they’re pretty and you’re gonna show them off, you don’t want a cat, you want a handbag.
your reasoning is valid, but look at how humantity has come by altering plants for medical use and if they want a hangbag why would they want to use the skin of a thousands of dollars cat that went through several of years of selective breeding????
@@uri151 not that good at explaining, but i'll give it a go op never said anything about using the skin of a thousand dollar cat that went through several years of selective breading to make a bag! op meant that these people are just making these fancy cats just to flash them about and treat them like objects, you also literally heard the woman agree that there is an overpopulation in cats,, but basically, she doesnt care. if they wanted something to flash around and treat like an object, they could get a fancy handbag instead. no one mentioned anything about altering plants! i do acknowledge how far we have come from altering plants for medical use, but this is altering in animals where if bred incorrectly may hurt these animals, arent even necessary, and dont contribute to anything besides that persons want. hope i cleared things up? or maybe i missed your point as i didnt clearly understand what you said either :'))

This is exactly how horrible genetic mistakes like Persian cats and Bulldogs come to exist - poor animals that exist in pain from beginning to end. No amount of “cuteness” or “style” is worth subjecting a living animal to this.
Well dinosaurs/ some reptile species evolved to walk upright and became reptilian and progressed scientifically and technology wise enough to leave this planet. They had pet primapes that absorbed enough knowledge and natural evolution to become humans. Now we have pets of our own for 1000's of years, cats and dogs.

CATMANTOO I love my Bengal. She was a rescue and she’s amazing. I’m lucky!

And the fact that we need to neuter/spay feral cats in a catch-and-release program. I would like for people to "tame" them but that requires a lot of time that could be better spent providing for a cat that isn't unnerved by the presence of a human.
True people just blame it on breeding
@Sea Level Cain And that's the problem, morons and ignornts adopting animals they know nothing about. But there are selective breeding that is good, I think these cats are fine as you see the breeders really care about the health too. The problem is when someone wants to breed for a stupid reason like French Bulldogs or Pugs that can't even breathe right.
Cats and overpopulation? That makes no sense to me.
I agree, I have a savannah cat and he's pretty agressive, loud, and energetic. He's also pretty rude at first.

Dogs that are being selective breeding like this, often suffer from horrible sides effects; so this could also happen to cats as well. There's also, an awful lot of over population of cats (mostly feral and stray cats). Which can be VERY bad, for numerous of reasons. These are things to just keep in mind.

That’s how “breeding” any animal works… the worry I have is one of the bengal cars getting loose & breeding with other feral cats… 🐈+🐆=☠️to bird populations in the US
The problem about overpopulation of cats in shelter is not due to breeders,it is due to people that adopt/buy a cat then abandon the cat
Not only does it prevent future cat overpopulation, the neutered cats won't be miserable from being in heat all the time
Most animals in pet shelters are sterilized anyway
As a foster mom of many many litters of cats, I still can't deny that these cats are awesome. This was a fascinating post.
6:01 is just kinda awful? i think adopting a rescue cat is a better option but im not gunna judge some one for getting a pure bred cat, but that lady makes it sound like the thousands of cats dying in shelters dont matter because her "prettier" cats are worth more and better. she talks about them like objects and its frustrating,,
melkeveien. New breeds are way better. They can make new kinds of mammals like how humans did with the wolf and dog.
Rather rich of you guys to be judging her for pursuit of carefully breeding animals (which is her right to choose whether or not she will breed or adopt cats) when the animals in shelters are the result of careless owners who are not the same person as her and which she is not responsible for their bad decisions.

Corgis too
The character of the cat is more important than the looks.
Black cats can be very fierce. Scottish folds are often clean and more homey.
Some cats just yell to get out all the time, while others are happy to be lazy at home and create less trouble for the owner.
+epSos.de Idk if it's because of the NC feral breed but my cat is black and he's very nice
epSos.de I have zero clue where you got your black cat information from but it isn’t true at all.
Keeping them in is more trouble
Beautiful kitties. This is true. But, there are are millions of homeless cats at your nearest shelter just waiting for you to give them a home. 😺
It's sad how people say this, but really only 1% of people change their ways and will actually research as a result of seeing a comment like this.

Domesticating is much different than breeding these cats for the reason “I can’t have this, so I’ll make this.” It is nice seeing this, but it’ll cause many problems.
@Moon Jar how did we need domestic cats?
They may have long legs or small ears, all of which are fine and still make for great pets but it’s important to still
Worry about the species and the breed as a whole.
What I know is hybrids have more health problems .
i think one of the reasons for that (the unhealthines in shelters) is puppy/kitten mills that just breed for profit (meaning they dont care about inbreeding) people will buy something from a "breeder"(meaning a mill but people buying do not know this because they didnt do much research) and then they see it gets sick or its not what they thought it would be and so then they get rid of said animal always research breeders and ask your local trusted vet because they will know a good breeder
MiiaBournewold yes well said! Most petstores that say they get their animals from reputable breeders are lying
Also not all home breeders are good breeders and often lack the proper paperwork or knowledge.
TomCat Bill, out of all the comments, yours made the best point.
My cat is better than those, I trained her to scream at me defiantly when I say "no" or "get down from there"
Haha, my cat isn’t advanced enough for that, but she can play fetch
Proffessional cat breeding in general is better controlled than most dog breeding. Most cat breeders breed for color and pattern and registered breeders are very careful to prevent inbreeding unlike many dog breeders. In general carefully bred cats are far more healthy and have less defects than most common domestic cats you find in shelters or on the streets because many of those cats are severely inbred.
Im fine with breeding if it's not excessive and that the breeders take GOOD care of the dogs/cats.
If the toyger really is just selectively breeded from domestic cats, thats really cool
These are beautiful but please~

These people aren't the problem. People who abandon their animals are. I've owned 3 cats. My first as a child lived for 18 years and died when I was 23. My adopted cat died after only 1 year as she was an old cat. And now I'm 28 I saw a Bengal and I wanted a Bengal.
I would never abandon a pet that isn't something in my DNA.

I don't really have a problem with the breeders, (when they are responsible,) and for some folks, that's the only way to have a cat. But hey.. justification, right?
it justifies the breeding but not the eventual slaughter of those homeless cats

"Just look at these cats, I mean, you look at them and it makes all the breeding worth it" no, you can get the same, or better personality depending on how you treat the cat by just going to an animal rescue league.
@herkeda ok so you just want a cat to flex
They're not items! They're living creatures. That's the most selfish thing I've heard.
Celena McLaren He never said that-
@herkeda my cat has a lotta unique marks and everyone calls him a pretty and spoiled boy xd anddd we got him for free so that was nice B)
@@ceelmcl he didn't say he was gonna show them off tho 🧍♂️
The hybrid cats' personalities are a bit different than domestic cats so it's not just about the look. But they're not for everyone.
I wonder how morally acceptable is to breed cats for entirely whimsical goals.
The goal is to shower a beautiful cat with love and affection. Is that entirety whimsical? If so then ask God about us, first.
@@sapienx99 you don't need to breed them for that. Go adopt
@@sapienx99 no

Toygers look really cool but I'd still rather get a random rescue cat, if I could.
Pick me. Pick me. 😿
David Smith there are so many cool rescue cats! I bet you could find one that isn't a toyger but fits your lifestyle and personality better! :)
He even likes being touched by visiting friends and neighbors.
hackman669 Good for it. If there is Bengal or Toyger cats at the pound, then I would get them, if I didn't already have enough animals. 🙂

@@uri151 he didn't say anything about cat leather handbag tho
@@uri151 dont think you understood what op meant, read it again, maybe?
@@quinie6986 I'm not sure what your implying
@@uri151 not that good at explaining, but i'll give it a go
op never said anything about using the skin of a thousand dollar cat that went through several years of selective breading to make a bag! op meant that these people are just making these fancy cats just to flash them about and treat them like objects, you also literally heard the woman agree that there is an overpopulation in cats,, but basically, she doesnt care. if they wanted something to flash around and treat like an object, they could get a fancy handbag instead.
no one mentioned anything about altering plants! i do acknowledge how far we have come from altering plants for medical use, but this is altering in animals where if bred incorrectly may hurt these animals, arent even necessary, and dont contribute to anything besides that persons want.
hope i cleared things up? or maybe i missed your point as i didnt clearly understand what you said either :'))
Disgusting. No living creature should be referred to as designer.
Why not? That's what they are.
I’m not Referring to them as designer nobody said that in this video Bengals act like dogs they’re just cats I have much more break a personality than a Regular house cat
I am from West Bengal,India. Domestic Cats which looks like these are pretty common and naturally occurring in my area. 😅
May be it is because of the fact that wild Fishing cats (Prionailurus viverrinus) are still found in village areas nearby.
That's nice
Yes infact i have seen similar coat stray cat in Maharashtra too
I love that two of the hybrid cats are named after regions of India, Bengal cat and Bombay cat
Pretty cool that you wouldn't need to spend a lot of money to get a cat like this.
So wait they trade cats with each other for breeding? I couldn’t do that, I’d cry every time I trade one.
It isn't easy for them to pass them along.
They don't care about cats thus they don't really care about all the kittens, only those that have the specific looks.
Marianna Ark ikr it is so annoying
No emotional attachment. Its business for them.
Clearly you never played pokemon
Every kitten deserves a chance.

Michael, our Bengal, is probably the best animal either one of us have owned in our lives. Will definitely be getting another one at some point
But it wasn’t for his fur that made him the best as that is all these people can see.
@@healingandgrowth-infp4677 Respect others, I saw you answering in other places. Not everyone thinks like you, they don't have to, and people have different priorities in the world. If you care about adopting it's fantastic, others will look after humans as doctors, others will work for charity, others will look after endangered species of animals, etc. But you can't expect everyone to think and act just like you, that's unrealistic.
Such an interesting video about a bunch of humans putting in practice their materialistic conceptions about life of other animals and playing with life and genes. This video has a great scientifical meaning but those people are so ethically wrong.

I “love” how there r still people that just want cats that look exotic when they could get any cat that’s in any animal shelter waiting for a family
Some of these cats on shelter looks even more exotic because they are not similiar to any other cat ever.
Well the make-up industry didn't take off for nothing. Aesthethics matter. Sadly.
Joaquim Fonseca yeah it’s called choices
Joaquim Diniz da Fonseca I don’t think you get to judge people who don’t want to adopt a cat. Get over yourself.
you mean they could get a cat that is 11 years old, full of health problems and who refuses to get petted because he was traumatized? yeah sounds awesome. Or they could get a cat that has been bred for his qualities so they know what kind of personality they're getting with each specific cat.
All these people pissed off about these cats but go home to their Corgi or Pug.
My rescue dog just told me youre an idiot :D
The Corgi breeds were made for herding cattle so there was a purpose to their creation other than just looks.
still unhealthy, if it's a pug or bulldog
That’s a nice strawman you got there
If the corgi or pug is a rescue, it's a lot different than the owner breeding them themselves.
“I’m trying to make a very specific cat.” What a creepy, weird thing to say. This is exactly how horrible genetic mistakes like Persian cats and Bulldogs come to exist - poor animals that exist in pain from beginning to end. No amount of “cuteness” or “style” is worth subjecting a living animal to this.
Hey pursians are not a horrible mistake >:((

Well dinosaurs/ some reptile species evolved to walk upright and became reptilian and progressed scientifically and technology wise enough to leave this planet. They had pet primapes that absorbed enough knowledge and natural evolution to become humans. Now we have pets of our own for 1000's of years, cats and dogs. After we leave this planet they too will walk upright and evolve into their version of humanoids. The same way dinosaurs did and we pet primapes of the reptilians did. We maybe have 1 to 10 thousand years left until we too leave this planet for the evolution of species.

I adopted a kitten from the streets. The best decision ever, I will never have that guilt people who buy animals often have, plus the connection you form with an animal by rescuing it is so strong and unique
what do they do with all the 'excess' kittens that dont cut the grade?
R LM
I guess they sell them off
R LM there sold or used to breed with others
They get turned into mittens. ;)
they simply sell them to new homes, sterilised, and then keeping the ones they chose to breed on.
