This is a nice video, highlighting all the breeds, and probably was a lot of work to put together. I appreciate these owners, loving their cat breeds. But I encourage everyone to check their local shelter if they really want to find an amazing variety of beautiful one of a kind cat. You will find them in all shapes and sizes, and they are all looking for loving homes. The shelters are bursting at the seams. The most beautiful cat is the cat you love.
🐈🐈⬛❤️ Your last sentence made me teary eyed since I remembered my black cat Sushi who crossed the rainbow bridge October last year 😢 . God bless you 🙏❤️
Very true. We had two domestic shorthairs from the county shelter in FL. One died at age 17 -- she was a real cuddler and just so sweet. The other is still with us, an old gent of 18. We also have an Abyssinian who is now 16 that we found at the same county shelter. You never know what you will find at the shelter. Just go and handle the kittens and cats; go several times until one strikes your fancy whether it be their personality, coloring, fur type, etc. Our tabby shorthair was a juvenile and pacing back and forth in his cage and so interested in our fingers at his cage. We named him Zenda because he was a prisoner at the shelter and obviously wanted to get out of that cage. Having just watched that old movie, The Prisoner of Zenda, that is how he got his name.
I agree 100%. If you must have a purebred cat, there are many breed rescues you may find one at. Both of my cats are mixes and were adopted. I love them so much.
In the last 40 years, every cat I've had was homeless- before he/ she came to live with me. I've never had a purebred cat. I've fostered ragdolls & siamese, but that's as close as I've come to having a purebred cat. One time I fostered 17 cats, 12 of whom were kittens. Now I have a fluffy shy guy who came from a feral colony. 😊✌✌
God bless you. My favorite cats are all cats. I believe every cat is a work of art and beauty to behold. And nothing better than providing a home for a beautiful kitty in need. And they are all beautiful!
Love all cats. Just wish some rich people will help save all the stray/abandoned cats in the whole world and build no kill super shelters to take care of them in every countries.
Mine have all been rescues who I have found or have found me. My only "pure breed" was my female Snowshoe, Phoebe. She implemented a pecking order for the household shortly after I brought her home. We'd never had a pecking order before, and I was at the bottom! I'm assuming because I was a _mere_ human. Her nickname became "Queen of Egypt, Ruler of Lower Tacoma". She loved strangers and Jell-O banana pudding. Oh, how I miss you girl! 💖
They all just described my humane soceity adopted cats to a tee. They do all the things fancy bred cats do without the price tags. They cuddle, they are clowns, they open doors, they go limp when you pick them up.....i can go on and on. All those traits are not only found in certain breeds, they are cat traits. Ive had many cats in my life and they all are wonderful and when they leave they leave a hole in your heart ....bless them and thank God for creating them.
I am watching the video with my burmese lying in my arms. They are so affectionate. Like dogs in cats. My burmese always sleeps with me, always waits at the door for me when i get home. God i love her.
I have an American Bobtail Cat . H has Blue Eyes and No Tail. He’s short haired and loves to snuggle. I adopted him the shelter when he was 5 months. He’s now just over 12 years old. He’s only a one person cat. But he loves to be brushed, I should say that he Demands to be brushed after every meal. He sleeps between my legs every night ❤
I’ve had darling Russian Blues since the late 1970s, alongside many shelter & stray kitties. Always a Russian or a pair of them - gorgeous, intelligent, sweethearts. 💙💙💙💚💚💙💙💙
We have an Aby that we got at a county animal shelter!! You can never tell what you will find at the shelter. He was just a kitten and was very active, talkative and curious and he still is. However, as he has gotten older (he is about 16 now) he has become a lap cat. He also will dig under a cover if you are under that cover reading. He loves to be surrounded by soft donut beds, or under a blanket. He has a welcoming personality. If someone rings the doorbell, he is in the foyer waiting to see who it is and to welcome them as if to say, "I am Lionel, your cruise director! Come right this way!" I would love to have so many of these breeds but we are seniors now and do not want to get another cat because they would probably outlive us. We also have a DSH which is also a shelter rescue. He is more mellow, loves his warming cat bed (he is 18), and still enjoys his food and being with us.
Glad to see you posting about another show!! When I lived in the Cincinnati area I got to know Brooke Cole at their local shows, so good to see her again (I had a retired white NFC from a different cattery; miss him every day). Now that I live in MO again I do occasionally manage to make it to shows in the Kansas City area.
Pumpkin I stayed overnight in a cozy little motel in Kentucky on my return trip from a conference in Texas. I decided to read awhile before going to sleep. I went to my car that was parked outside my room. I left the door to my room open. As I closed the door to my car, I looked at my hotel room door. There was a magnificent cat peeking into the room. As I approached the door, I meowed at the cat and the cat entered my room. I put a bowl of water on the floor for the cat and prepared for bed. A few minutes after lying down on the bed to read, the cat approached me and gently laid down on my abdomen. I was amazed! The cat laid there and purred. The cat had wrapped me around it's paw! The next morning I asked the wait staff in the motel restaurant about the cat. They said the cat had been around for a couple weeks. I asked the maid and she told me the same thing. As I was getting ready to leave, I preformed one last test. I put the cat on the ground. She rubbed against me and purred. I followed her to a U-Haul vehicle. She purred around my legs again. That was all of the encouragement I needed. Off to a store to purchase litter and litter box, food, water, and bowl. I soon discovered I should have purchased a house as she decided the best place to be was beneath my feet next to the clutch! Oops - not a good idea. Eventually the cat decided the next best place was in the litter box on the back seat. That evening I met my husband and a friend who were attending a meeting. By now I was covered with white hair, but no one noticed in the dim lights of the night club. I said to my husband, I picked up a hitch hiker. He replied - cat or dog? By now the cat had gone 24 hours without urinating. We carried all of the cat items I purchased in the hotel room. The first thing the cat did was jump in the litter box and pee! The next morning my husband purchased a carrier for the cat, and the cat and I continued our journey home. He also named the cat Pumpkin - because of her color. When we took her to the vet we were informed that she had a bad case of ear mites and quite a few fleas. She underwent a hysterectomy only to discover that she had already been "fixed". The incision was not mid line and no one thought too look on her side, which is where the surgery is conducted when a cat is in heat. Ultimately Pumpkin became my cat. She would come to the living room to remind me that it was time for bed. She had several physical problems - thyroid (received radioactive treatment), small tumors, and ultimately she was on chemotherapy. She died in my arms. Her picture is next to our bed. I never understood how anyone could let such a precious cat out. The next time you are staying at a motel and see a friendly cat, find out if it belongs to anyone and then, if you can, don't hesitate to "adopt" the cat before it suffers the indignity of a shelter! The life you save will reward you with more love than you can imagine! peace and joy, Katherine
We have 6 cats: a brother and sister - she is a tortie, their names are Miriam and Moses. Samantha is my gold cat who loves to sit on my lap. After my cat, Pumpkin, died I brought Buttercup home thinking she would be like Pumpkin - boy was I wrong. Snowflake, so named for the white dot on the tip of his tail, knocked on the door every morning at 0330! He is handsome and loves to sit on my husband's lap.. Paul discovered Cutie Pie on the deck. He is loveable.
I have a cat that's believed to be a Turkish Angora mix. Since she's a rescue with a largely unknown past, I don't know what else is in there but she has that soft Angora coat and the large pointy ears, her eyes are also set in a very Angora-like way. (My best guess is Turkish Angora/European Shorthair.) She's a sweetheart too and has been sleeping in my bed from day 1 at the foot end. Not much of a cuddly one yet but maybe in a year or two. My other cat has an unkown breed but I love her all the same. Another rescue cat. I chose her according to her personality, not her breed or coat color. I did think about getting a purebreed cat but .... eventually veered towards adopting rescue cats. You can also find purebred cats as rescues though.
I had a total of 5 purebreds for the 15 years that my husband and I were together. Four of them were retired adults, which enabled us to give a good loving home to cats that were basically surplus at that time in their lives. The 5th was a breed and color that we really wanted (black smoke Turkish Angora) but we got her from a good place.
Good responsible breeders can really do a lot of good for cat quality of life. Because they see patterns across generations from start to finish, and they are invested in the well being of their animals, they are often full of important knowledge. I had planned to adopt but Covid got in the way. I ended up getting my cat from a breeder instead and she had so much information about best practices like getting immunizations in tail or paws, the importance of nutrition and getting whole prey items from reptile food suppliers when possible. That’s info I never got in all my research or personal experience.
My first cat was a Snowshoe Siamese, cat two and three were Bluepoint Siamese, and my first pair now I think are British Shorthair. They’re dark gray, golden eyes and they have frosty white on their muzzles. Brother and sister. My only regret with cat ownership was waiting so long to have a pair. My girl is official lap warmer, her brother is Guardian, supervisor. I’m especially grateful to my girl cat, Money. She warned me of a fire simmering in the upstairs bathroom by looking up there from my lap. She never did that. I went to check, had to call the fire department. My girl saved everyone’s life thanks to her sensing something was wrong. I didn’t see smoke from downstairs. I don’t have a sense of smell but watched her tense, looking upstairs and thank goodness I checked. I’m still not right from the smoke two months ago. Caught it in time.
That norwegian forest cat at 5:53 looks like my cat minus that pink nose cause mine has a black nose. Plus he has hazel eyes with a brown/black and white bicolor fur.
The Bombay is my favorite. I adopted one that idk was a Bombay until after. They act like a dog, kid and monkey all in one. They are very intelligent. Don't get 1 unless you can always be 5 steps ahead of them. They love dogs and kids, dominant over other cats. If you have a submissive cat(s), they will work out great. They are little heat seeking missiles. They do great on a leash and like going bye bye.

The cat got pregnant and had two curly coated costs. In a previous litter she had some curly coated kittens and some hairless ones. She is of unknown ancestry . Just a short haired grey cat. No curls at all. And the male was one of her previous litter kittens and he was partly hairless and part curly. The father of that litter was of unknown ancestry too. I am wondering where the genes for that came from. I know the Cornish and the Devon Rex are two different mutations. If the Devon and the Cornish are bred together they will produce only straight coated kittens. I wonder if the ones I got are a new mutation. Oops I think the Cornish Rex was a mistake I made. It was probably the Selkirk Rex I meant to write.

@@koopakape sad that you’re not smart enough to know that it has nothing to do with the video. Genuinely sad that you have to ask!

We adopted our pure white kitty from an animal shelter early in 2024. We adore her.
Ditto! We got a kitty DNA test on him and he is 92% Turkish angora. Long white fur that magically never gets in knots. I love my shelter babies.
Adopted both my cats from shelter and they are the love of my life. Appreciate all the cat lovers out there

It's an insult to say like dogs in cats. Ill-informed.
I find the cat karaoke absolutely hilarious 😂 especially the Beyonce one!
I miss my Siberian cat - he was the best, most loving, most playful, and biggest breed ive ever had.

Nice video, however no mention of my favourite, the Himalayan.
I have been waiting for you!
What a great video I watched it all the way to the end. I have two American bobtail from Shelby. Love them.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I don't know anything about cat breeds, but I was quite pleased by this video
I wish you got to spend more time with the Havana Brown kitties! I have a Havana brown and she is the sweetest 🤎🤎🤎

❤Korat Sat the end!
You didn't cover the Siamese cats which are my favorite breed. 😢
I wasn’t able to get a shot of one as they were being judged when I stopped by. Sorry!
And Tonkinese too but it's alright 😢 there was some other breeds that I liked here still like the Bengal ❤
British Shorthair ❤❤❤❤
Chupie was there! 😻😻😻😻
What about the Manx?

No Cornish Rexes :( My personal favorites
I have a munchkin Scottish fold named Margot. She’s so sweet and mellow. Shes a very good little kitty

Where's the SNOWSHOE?? There was one playing the piano. They were in Las Vegas shows.
Any Korat breeders in the northeastern US? Our late, beloved Korat came from England.
Pet piano is nothing: your cats play ping pong.
thanks haha!
No Siamese?
The only thing I worry about when they have these breeds that are based upon genetic mutations is breeding for that be genetic mutation
Do they do for dogs as well
Sad to not see Burmillas here!
Surprised there were no Siamese!
There weren't many, so I didn't get a chance to catch one. The few were being judged!

@ merci beaucoup 🥰
Where was the Siamese??????
No sign of the British Marble either and Ihave three
unfortunately I wasn't able to capture a video of one. Most were being judged when I swung by their section
Were there no Chartreux breeders at the show?
?
There were, but not many. So I wasn't able to get a shot of one as they were being judged.
I thought Mainecoons were like 30 lbs? My Ragdolls are well over 20.
Ma sha Allah MashAllah
They are all God's creation. It's nice to see people treat them with gentle kindness.
Turkish Vans?
There were none at the show. It’s not very popular breed in the United States
Was also looking for Turkish Vans. I have one & he's gorgeous. Fate allowed him to come to me when his owner went into a nursing home. He's almost human like. Definitely the most dog-like cat I've ever had. And funny how cuddly he can be but don't try to pick him up! Lol Such an amazing breed. 🥰
poor exotic cats, they have all the same issues of pugs
Did i miss the Siamese or did you not mention them?
I didn’t see the Himalayan Breed or Siamese …. Unless I missed it
What about La Perm cats?😢
I'm hoping they show a Cornish Rex or a Devon Rex. Curly coated cats. I got a cat that belongs to my granddaughter and left with me when she left for Texas. The cat got pregnant and had two curly coated costs. In a previous litter she had some curly coated kittens and some hairless ones. She is of unknown ancestry . Just a short haired grey cat. Oops I think the Cornish Rex was a mistake I made. It was probably the Selkirk Rex I meant to write.
There is different kinds of cats?
But how do the cats feel about it?
Does anyone know of a Bombay Breeder?
No munchkins?
Unfortunately there weren’t any at the show :(
When I saw the grown adults on stage “meowing” songs….I lost all faith in humanity. 😑
Where's Somali cat?
