What better gift for xmas than a reminder of what friendship is. Thank you. I did lose it when Sultan diss'd Stylus. These continuing interactions are how I've been rewarded by subscription. More power to you all.
Just a note btw (which hopefully will please you), no need to house rule oath of moment staying on the leader - it does as its a persistent effect and sticks with whichever units had it, so the split when the bodyguard dies doesn't affect it! Sadly the leader abilities do go :( Oh, and you asked about vox static and the captain ability. If you remember GCSE maths, its BODMAS! So you reduce to zero first, then add the 1 from vox static, so you were right and it still costs one.
Vox static doesn't add one, it just makes the cost 2, so not clear cut what would happen. Not a modifier, more like a rule change for the mission. Edit: I base this on Vox static as it is described in Wahapedia, so maybe that one is off.
Awesome report but noticed some things played wrong in game. Mission tactics are a once per battle round rule, same as in the gladius task force. You can't run the mission tactic all game. Adaptive tactics allows two squads to change army tactics however. Tome of the etcoclades is a once per battle enhancement, i noticed sultan played it twice. The ability for the speeders +1 to wound is only against vehicles or monsters. Sorry to be "that guy" but its understandable if they haven't been played in 10th yet. Deathwatch is a lot to get your head around at the best of times.
Fun game! Sorry about getting the mission tactics wrong, I misread the index (even after double checking it)! Oh well, we both had fun and no harm done! Hope you enjoyed anyway!
You might also want to reread storm speeder thunderstrike which only grants the +1 to wound v vehicles and monsters :) Its easy done, so many unique datasheet abilities to keep track of...
Unless it has been directly FAQed, you put Oath on a Unit, and when a character looses its bodyguard, the rules say that the leaders (if more than one) become different and separate units. So I think that Winters got it right...
@@ikarian8318 any effect that would affect a unit with any characters in it for a set duration of time eg. til your next command phase continues to affect all models of the unit even if the body guard unit dies and the characters separate.
@@ikarian8318 the way to think about it is if you were to select a unit containing a character to pour water on, the character would still be wet if the rest of the unit died
Sees a near two hour battle report ✅ Sees Death Watch ✅ Sees it Sultan running them (come on hero black shield!) ✅ AND it's Sultan's birthday!? Thank you for the present today, Gents. Happy birthday, Sultan, I hope its been full of family, fun, festivities and FLAMED ENEMIES OF THE IMPERIUM!
Not sure how to run Annihilation Legion. Seems like you need non-annihilation support. Maybe barges to deliver stuff? Put stuff in reserve? Plus, better Res. Orb rolls..lol
The detachment is just..... bad. I haven't seen anyone able to make it work yet. Especially since reanimation isn't great on elite models (or anything anymore tbh) it seems like you need a LOT of luck to even survive.
I think the Death Watch will be banned from our games, just way too much cheese, every army has gimmicks, but these just have gimmicks on gimmicks, that bounce off and add to more gimmicks. As for the Narrative, if you allow oath and buffs to continue after a character's unit is wiped out, then by the same token shouldn't the Necron res also still apply if the character attached to that unit survives, after all the narrative is basically calling for the character to count as part of the targeted unit?
Those Deathwatch need investigated for Heresy, such a psychedelic base seems a sign of slaneesh or tzeetnch corruption. Not sure I like how this table was set up. Seems to give the necrons a shooting advantage, given to be on the objective for 2 mid field their exposed to the necron backline. Doesn't change my view that models being removed before the end of their team's first battle phase is stupid for balance, though. Luckily for Deathwatch the Necron fed their surviving melee for points instead of letting Deathwatch come forward to get shot. Basically this is mostly an example of why Necrons need to move in a way their units can't be focused down one at a time to prevent reanimation.
Deathwatch and marines in general, with the amount of rerolls they have both slow down the game and just don't feel great to play against. It really feels like your high toughness units just fall over, as evidenced by Winter's T5 and T6 destroyers.
also oath of moment is considered a persistent effect so the character keeps OoM effect once the unit is destroyed. It is under the persisting effects in the rules commentary
i know this is a bit weird but i just got to the bit about how rites of war interacts with vox static, I believe it is covered by modifying a stratagem's CP cost on page 18 of the rules commentary. Which is badly written but because vox static has no "duration" stated in its rule you apply it at the time of using the stratagem. This give the order of making the strat free then applying +1 modifier. Hope this helps. 👍
Since vox static is just changing the base cost of the strat to 2, an ability that allows that strat to be used for 0cp,will still do so. You are thinking of when a strat is 'vect'd' , in which case it is reduced to 0, then increased by 1 per 'vect'.
Enjoy watching your 40k bat reps and seeing you play Sultan but have to say adverts every 5 minutes is so frustrating and ruins the viewing experience. 😢
Sultan ran the deathwatch detachment rules completely wrong. Deathwatch don't get a doctrine each turn, they can choose to do one each turn and then if they do they can pick each one only once and the Fortis killteam only gets +1 to hit if they are attacking a unit that is below half, not if the killteam is injured.
Happy Birthday Sultan and BLESS YOU FOR THE LOKHUST
glorious deathwatch army there. Feels like each model has its own personality
I feel like what Sultan really deserves for his birthday is to film a new narrative campaign.
Oath of moment does stay on the character it is in the rules commentary under persisting effects

I thought mission tactics were a once per game thing, meaning you get to use each tactic only once for one full round?
That explains a lot. The entire army getting sustained hits on everything seemed too good - and I guess it was.
Fun game! Sorry about getting the mission tactics wrong, I misread the index (even after double checking it)!

Sultan finally correcting your pronunciation of Lokhust made me so happy it cured my common cold
12:42 Lokhust issue addressed 🙏🤣❤️
Thank god!
Oath of moment persists to any characters that were part of an oathed unit. Also thunder strikes buff only works against monsters and vehicles

Glorious, just glorious! And i like how Lev Dred was stomping and punching faces)
p.s Sultans painting and conversion job is just WOW!
The absolute joy of Sultan at his HKs finally working. 😃
Happy Birthday Sultan 🎂
Great battle report. Love it when Sultan is on the report! Your Black Templar Captain just taught Winters Dynasty what hth means… booyaa beotch 😂
Brilliant report! Have a fab birthday Supportbubblesultan!
What happened to the plasmacytes? They cost nothing. Could have been doing devastating wounds
Also, Skorpekh lords forgot they had guns
Just like with Gladius doctrines, the DW mission tactics can only be selected once per game

You don't fire both parts of the Deathwatch Infernus Heavy Bolter - you need to choose one or the other profile
Yup unfortunately true. 9th Ed you could shoot both parts so likely just thinking of old rules which is understandable
Sultan, you must be the Emperor of Mankind with all your Space marines 😁
Great to see different lists being played for Necrons. Carnage v Death Watch. Awesome game.
You guys are gold! Can't wait to see you do Hypercraft! I see those two Monoliths!
I love the colorful tufts of grass on Sultan's DW
Thanks for sharing. Wish Flayed ones got fights first even a strat..
Sultan! Birthday! 🎂 yay!
happy Birthday Sultan!
Sweeeet!! Deathwatch for the win!
Can deathwstch stay in the same mission tactic? I thought you always had to choose a new one or none.
Deathwatch hell yeah! 👍
Thx for this content. Cheers
That death watch army is gorgeous.
Where can I get that center terrain piece? 🤑

It's ok Winters. Some of us remember Thundercats,
Twas awesome and much missed.
Time is short, i dont have much spare capacity, no tv. This is respite, thanks guys.
Winter you can't roll one dice for the life of you.
You can roll many dice, but not just one.
heh
Lol
Enjoyed Sultan take on 10th rules sounds a lot like me😂
Great game, Good fun.
Damn. I read this as death guard. Sultan playing death guard? Ooo. I’m an idiot. Still a fine bat rep though. My compliments.
Thundercats! Ho-oooooh!
Fantastic game
SNARF SNARF!

The librarian has thief of secrets and he's a Blood Raven. I see what you did there,
edit: oh my, round 3 was painful to watch
Oath of moment persists on the "destroyed" unit.
The destroyer lords have a 5+ fnp

my house rule is deadly demise or blowing up is on a 1 not a 6.............
Hey guys, fun video. Just a small note the thunderstrike stormspeeder is just +1 to wound against monsters and vehicles
also oath of moment is considered a persistent effect so the character keeps OoM effect once the unit is destroyed. It is under the persisting effects in the rules commentary

Hunter killer doesn't explode. It's not a bolt weapon
Nevermind. That's the detachment rule. The strat won't apply to it.
My mistake.
