Just used my new DE89LBL for the first time this morning with a Gillette Nacet. Got a very nice shave, although I think it performs just a wee bit more aggressive than the Merkur 34C with the same blade.
As always, it was very nice to look at one of your shaving videos, Kensurf! You are a friendly jewel on TH-cam! :-) When it comes to the razor of the day, the Edwin Jagger DE89, it was noticeable how relaxed you were under the shaving, probably because you felt safe and did not have to show the same attention to your moves as with more aggressive razors. I have never try this razor, which I regret, since the shaving community overall seem to think that this is one of the mildest safety razors in the world, at the same time as it is efficient. In the future, it would be nice to see you do a comparison shave between some of the Merkur closed comb razors, which also seem to be regarded as mild and so to speak safe safety razors, and the EJ DE89. Maybe you should tried them both, at the same shave, with more gentle shaving blades and some other time with Feather blades, just to see how these two razor perform under different conditions. I wish you and your family members good health and all blessings from God!
Believe it or not my first razor was the one advertised on tv from the guy who was on pawn stars SOTD will be the 34C with a med prep blade and Palmolive menthol

Hello Kensurfs! As you stated, many of your viewers HAVE been waiting for you to review the DE89 from Edwin Jagger. I find it a very effective and comfortable razor, and I think that its design aesthetics are elegantly and distinctively done. One simply has to look over his/her shoulder to view the hordes of clones that have "borrowed" the head design from the DE89. "Often imitated, never duplicated."
Another great review, on EJ DE89, I need to order one for me, I order one, unfortunately, based on the pictures I saw during my order it was not the one I wanted, I have to keep doing my work and find exactly the one I want from Edwin Jagger, and absolutely, yes we, you and everyone must keep safe, unfortunately my Mother in Law got this virus + a stroke 4 weeks ago, so she is fighting for her life, again, thanks for the great review and stay safe.
Love my EJ DE89, first razor on my wet shaving journey after kicking the carts. started off with astra blades until I git my technique down then moved up to the feathers that came with the razor, you think that the Gillette blades you used were good in the 89? just try the feathers, you won't go back. I too got the EJ pre- cream, its good but makes my eyes water so I stopped using it. still have the half full tube though. Nice Shave by the way, thanks, even though I'm a week behind, bit of trouble with my vpn lately down here in China so its hard to get into you tube etc.

Great shave Ken 👍🏾👌🏾 Do you have any Wet The Face shaving soaps? I would love to see you use one of Don Youngner’s Wet The Face shaving soaps! Have a good week, stay safe & God bless!
I’ll try
Hello Kensurfs! As you stated, many of your viewers HAVE been waiting for you to review the DE89 from Edwin Jagger. I find it a very effective and comfortable razor, and I think that its design aesthetics are elegantly and distinctively done. One simply has to look over his/her shoulder to view the hordes of clones that have "borrowed" the head design from the DE89. "Often imitated, never duplicated."
Thank you👍💈💈
Another great review, on EJ DE89, I need to order one for me, I order one, unfortunately, based on the pictures I saw during my order it was not the one I wanted, I have to keep doing my work and find exactly the one I want from Edwin Jagger, and absolutely, yes we, you and everyone must keep safe, unfortunately my Mother in Law got this virus + a stroke 4 weeks ago, so she is fighting for her life, again, thanks for the great review and stay safe.
🙏🙏🙏I hope she gets better fast. My prayers go out to her
Love my EJ DE89, first razor on my wet shaving journey after kicking the carts. started off with astra blades until I git my technique down then moved up to the feathers that came with the razor, you think that the Gillette blades you used were good in the 89? just try the feathers, you won't go back. I too got the EJ pre- cream, its good but makes my eyes water so I stopped using it. still have the half full tube though. Nice Shave by the way, thanks, even though I'm a week behind, bit of trouble with my vpn lately down here in China so its hard to get into you tube etc.
👍👍
Have you ever tried the Parker 99R? I like that razor a lot, you might like it too!
Greetings from The Netherlands 👍🏼
Great shave Ken 👌🏼
👍👍👍💈💈
Best wishes from north-germany, stay safe Ken and everybody
👍👍
Hi Ken
Just wanted to let you know, that I just ordered from DS cosmetics your blue and green handled brush
Thank you👍👍👍👍
Great shave Ken
Thank you 👍💈
I can't believe you got the one without the "ball" end on the handle!!dude!
Lol
Hello, Ken, how are you, EJ de89 is a beautiful and nice razor, I own Merkur 34c, 37c and EJ 316 but I don't have DE 89, and planning to purchase it after lock down as the prices at present in INDIA of imported goods are very high, Sir, can you please tell how this razor is in comparison to the Merkur 34c or make a comparison video 👍👍👍
I find it exact to a 34C with a bit longer handle
Hi Ken, I started Wet Shaving 1 year ago with the Dorco Razor from Amazon. Looking to move to a little more aggressive "man's" razor. Which would you recommend I get? If it's the Mercur - which model? Thank you.
Merkur 34, EJ89
The de89 sings with a feather blade ken
👍👍👍
The DE89 head is identical to the Mühle R89 one, right?
very similar but not exactly the same i believe :)
Very close
I want to decide what is better between Merkur 34c or Edwin Jagger D89. What is the best for you and what is the differences? Sorry for my English.
Handle but both perform similar. Smooth and mild.
Nice video. How come all my razors come with horrible Derby blades....wish I got some Feathers. Btw, do you have an EJ synthetic brush....they are supposed to be "really good".
💈💈no EJ brush yet
Hey, what happened with your red Vostok? Didnt see it at any vid recently.
I’ll try to add it back
Wax on...
Wax off...
Great Ken!!
👍👍👍
Ken....? For you...who was ( is) your favorite James bond actor?? Mine is and always will be Sean Connery....my wife loves Roger Moore...id love to know who's yours. Have a great one. Keep those shaving vids comin

@@kensurfs awesome Ken!!! Yeah I will always know the one and only James bond. And that is Sean Connery!! Ty for the reply....stay safe out there too with all those terrible fires
I wonder if they are really into air guns since they can't have the real deal? That looked like a really great shave. I like my 34C, but still gotta try that DE89 out.
I think you are right
Speaking of airsoft I have a Hatsan Model 95 vortex.25 and a Glock 19 Gen 4 blowback replica
I hear those are awesome
As a shaver that uses Feather Blades i have taken the "burn" to whole new heights ! A shave is not complete until i splash on some "Fine" or "Polo" and reveal in its sterilizing qualitites ! After shave balm is for teenagers that use disposable bics !!
That must burn good👍👍
Hey ken, great video as always! Do you use the front or back camera on your phone? 🤓
I use the screen. The back camera is much better I bet
@@kensurfs Thnx! Might have to try it out. Looking to do some headshave vids

Hello! Which razor is the best for daily use for you?
34C or DE89
I saw "The Curse of La Llorona" on Netflix the other day, now that was a scary movie. 😱 Really good aswell. 👍
What year did that come out?
👍👍👍
MrTantraMan 2019 I believe
Great soap this Edwin Jagger, you can't beat a Yorkshire brand ken
I'm a Yorkshire Man, and I buy their soaps direct from The English shaving company website
Awesome🇬🇧🇬🇧I’m originally from Newcastle
@@kensurfs I know ken, I went to Newcastle once for a Comic Con event.
Congratulations ! No cuts today. You're making progress ! LOL
😲👍👍💈💈
Have you heard anything about the fat guy being shipped any time soon? Great shave as always Ken!
I just got an email and Sheldon put out a TH-cam video
The Karate Kid is my favorite movie of all-time, man! Check out the new show, Cobra Kai, on Netflix. It’s amazing! And great shave, always, Ken. Take care!
👍👍

Lol
I think the soap is a little dry
👍👍
Hahah sometimes I do talk to myself (audience of one) in the mirror!
