    Someone said you were the gold medalists at the Olympics for shaving. I believe it. After watching your videos I bought a cheap safety razor and first time using it I had a good clean shave and no irritation like multi blade cartridges. Thanks Geofatboy.

    Hi Geo, wonderful Germany vs. England, a old fashioned soccer final. Sport by side, I own both and I've to say for the price those are 2 wonderful razor, nice, smooth and efficient. Always a pleasure to see your videos, buy both!! As I did

    I have a Mühle Rocca and for me it's the perfect combination of efficiency and smoothness (especially with a Sputnik blade). Since I have it I don't use any other razor. It's not only the performance that is superb, it's one of the most beautiful razors on the market imo and due to the small head you can use it perfectly for trouble spots (under the nose).

    I just received my Muhle R94 today and haven’t used it yet, but it is a beautiful. I can’t wait until tomorrow. I must admit however that the little pamphlet included in the box would scare the bejesus out of someone new to DE shaving. A little common sense is all it takes. Your videos are terrific and appreciate your prompt service.

    The DE89 actually scratches my face more than the 3ONE6, because of that sharp-ass baseplate. I guess I win "Sensitive Shaver Of The Year" Award.

    I own both in the stainless steel version with the stainless steel handles.
    The Edwin Jagger handle is too thin for my liking and a tad too short.
    I bought an extra Mühle Rocca with the stainless steel handle and placed the handle on the Edwin Jagger 316 head.
    It’s now a far more well balanced razor.
    I also own the Mühle Rocca in the jet black version and in the Birchwood version.
    All my Rocca heads are version 4.
    While the Edwin Jagger 316 is a great razor head design and gives me great shaves, my overall favourite razor head deign is the Mühle Rocca version 4 (v.4)
    It’s the overall best DE razor I’ve yet tried and I’ve owned more than 50+ different DE razors over the last 10+ years.
    I’m going to buy more Mühle Rocca v.4 razors whenever I see them on sale for a good price as this razor simply performs so superbly for me - so I want to stock up on them in case I drop one of my Rocca’s on the floor or in other ways might lose them.
    Cheers, Claus from Copenhagen in Denmark

    Nice comparison shave Geo💈💈 Well matched pair for this shave-off. I had the 3ONE6 SS Knurled Handle version, a bit heftier than the aluminum handle version. Got it as soon as available so no experience with reviews. My expectation was the SS 3ONE6 would shave the same as the DE89, so I proceeded to shave and after the first two/three strokes, I knew I'd messed up. I was surprised to say the least as the geometry was totally different and the shave was much more aggressive for my skin. Passed it along to my son who likes it so no loss there. Thanks for the video, well done as always. See ya next time. Enjoy!

    I have been getting a lot of razor bumps lately esp on my neck with gillette mach 3 turbo since my skin is quite sensitive. I switched to Skinguard which is nice but does not shave very well. Your videos have inspired me to switch to a DE razor and I have already ordered one. I already follow the pre-shave routine with mach 3 which you stress a lot on but I am terrified about cutting my whole face as I have never used a DE razor. I have watched most of your videos and have some theoretical understanding but do you have any last minute tips for someone about to shave with a DE razor for the first time?

      Hi there…..Preparing is key. Get a good quality shaving soap/cream and don’t hesitate about using plenty of hot water. Keep a sharp blade and don’t get in a hurry as you use very little pressure during your shaving stoke.
      After your shave, be sure and hydrate your face with a non alcohol balm or lotion.

    Muhle Rocca Geo my all time favorite. Used it 165 times with the following blades:
    1.Wilkinson Sword
    2.Muhle
    3.Gillette 7oclock green
    4.Tiger
    5.Merkur
    6.Shark
    7.Derby
    8.Boots unbranded
    9.Treet
    It's a razor blade transformer no matter what blade I used it transforms it. I follow manufacturer's advice with the grain and gives me a smooth nick free shave. I love it!!!

    I have the 3 one 6, and the R41. The Rocco is on it’s way. I look forward to getting it as I shave daily. The 3 one 6 is great but I want just a little more aggression where as the R41 is just a little much for a daily driver. Lol that thing is a straight edge disguised as a safety razor lol.

      I agree, I have the red handled version and the all stainless. The balance is better on the all stainless. I also have the Rocca all stainless. Neither of them are my Favourites though. I prefer my 6s, Karve, Blackbird, Masamune & Nodachi. I have much more aggressive razors than these two but both of these make my skin sore. Glad some of you out there love them though.

      Dave, I am hearing more and more about the Blackland razors, in particular the Blackbird and the new Era. Perhaps we can get Geo to incorporate these razors into the “face-offs.
      Todays competition with the Rocca looks like a perfect blend of the Muhle R41 and the 89.

    • @davesheppard8797
      @davesheppard8797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@butchwaxx2652 Hi Butch,
      Lots of people said in videos, "Jim will shave" for one, that it is as close feeling to a straight (cutthroat) that you can get. I have never used a straight but I get what they mean. It doesn't have a huge blade gap (I will try and find out what the gap is) but it has quite a lot of blade exposure. Incredibly close feel though. A beautiful razor too, all Stainless and modelled on the Blackbird stealth aircraft. I have 28 razors, most high end and none feel like the Blackbird.
      Dave.

    • @butchwaxx2652
      @butchwaxx2652 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again Dave…I agree with you that blade exposure and angle can certainly trump blade gap.

    • @davesheppard8797
      @davesheppard8797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Butch, Further to my previous comment. Blackland say the Blackbird is 7/10 on the aggression scale. They don't give a blade gap or exposure. I have a shaving log to record all my Shaves with the aim of getting my perfect shave. Razor, blade, brush and soap. I also have about 17 shaving brushes and at present around 35 different types of blade. With some razors having 3 or more plates it's quite a task! Each shave is like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle, ending hopefully in a picture of my perfect shave. I'm not there yet but I'm learning a lot. One thing that is becoming very clear, is just how good the Rockwell 6S is. It is great with any blade I put in it and unlike a true adjustable all plates are smooth shaving!!
      Dave.
