Great video - brought back plenty of memories from an interesting weekend. Oh, and thanks for including my van and it's flags! (24:17) Nice to briefly speak to Shaun and Harvey on Sunday when I'd got back from the show absolutely soaked and mud-splattered (I'm still cleaning mud off my kit) about the irony of your last year's video being about the challenges of it being absolutely sweltering, and this year's being drowned! Congrats on the progress with the Crafter. Maybe see you next year! PS: well done on extracting your van from the mire without being towed. I also managed it, thankfully, in my T5.
I was there too - think it was your video from last year that gave me the idea. The campsite did an amazing job dealing with the mud, I managed to get out without being towed 😀 I'll be there next year - I'll look out for you! Great vid as always 🍻
Great video. All the campsites around the base were the same. I was on Kempsford campsite. Even with the poor weather it was a great show. I was in the FRIAT stand on the Saturday and at one point they told everyone to leave the stand as there was a severe weather warning, only lasted about 10 minutes. It was the U2 leaving most of the mornings, very loud alarm clock.
Gotta go next year! Reminds me of Biggin Hill air show used to go to as a kid. What are those campaign chairs? They look amazing...but maybe take up quite a bit of space
Great video. Loved seeing you guys again. I would love to go in my van next year. You need to advertise it on your channel when it is almost upon us. Love you all xxx.
Brilliant video. It felt like I was there. Shame about the weather and mud, but you all seemed in good spirits after your adventure. I'm looking forward to the next video and the progress of the van. Thanks Kev
Great video. I've done RIAT 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, (then we had that COVID thing!) and 2022. This year we had a year off as we didn't think we'd see anything that we hadn't seen before. Looks like you had a great spot on the campsite to see the Airshow. Wow! what a contrast from last year with the weather though! Last year, as you'll know was scorching! I plan to go to RIAT next year and plan to do it in a Crafter that I will convert into a camper (I still have to pin one down and buy it yet), but will hopefully have one and get it to a useable state by next July. I enjoy your vids and have gained some good tips on how to convert a van. Keep up the good work. Might see you at RIAT next Year 👍
Great video. We were there on Saturday, so sorry you had so much mud. We usually stay at the camp site but stayed in Cheltenham this year. Shame ,crap weather this year but onto next year 👍🏼
I had tickets for the Friday but by the time i had quit my job it was 10:30 and i had to drive down to RIAT from Cumbria , so didnt do it ....next year ;)
Not having to put your baby through x-ray definitely is a win :D Btw congrats on your lovely family addition! And I think it's brave you're testing the Crafter as crude as it is with a family of four. But it sure ticks a box of (hopefully happy) life experiences! Cheers!
Great video thanks. We were there also, on the orange field. It was our first visit camping and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The organisation was unbelievable. I see you bought a radio this year. Would you mind telling me what make and model you got and whether it was easy to use please.
Are you attending again this year? In all my years visiting, the Friday of 2023 was probably the worst I have ever seen the weather. Luckily the rest of the week wasn’t too bad.
The weather was a bit grim all weekend. We were at Kempsford Camping and for the first time ever had to have our Knaus towed ONTO our pitch (we did manage to get out unaided on Sunday though). We were like drowned rats by the end of Saturday (our day at the show). A complete reversal of last years event. Great show again though
I wish there was more on your self converted camper van since that was the title of the video and less about rain/planes/babies. Like what worked and what didn't work in your campervan, any new solutions etc
I don’t think the title is misleading, when we make a video on what works and what doesn’t work I think it’ll be titled “What we like and don’t like about our self-converted camper van”. 🤙
The chairs are from Bo-Camp, they're quite hard to find those specific ones now unfortunately but they have similar ones - amzn.to/44X6gM the actual ones in this video are much more expensive but are very good I just can't find them l'm afraid. (Affiliate link)

Lovely video!
I live in the village along from Fairford, so get free shows from my back garden! It’s my absolute favourite time of year!🙈

Fab video, wonderful filming of the airshow, so glad you didn't get stuck in the mud on the way out 😊xx

Run with the weather and just count your blessings when you have a lovely family. . .
We have a wee place in Spain next to the airfield where the Spanish Patrulla Aguila is stationed and regularly see them training, very cool!
I’m guessing the good weather is a bit more guaranteed too 😂

Thank you so much!!
Great video! Lovely young family.
Just seen myself on your vid yep the mud was definately interesting see ya next year
We stopped at Townsend too. The mud was horrendous, but it hilarious that people trying to get out became a spectator sport😂
It absolutely did 😂
Great vlog definitely would like to do this next year! Hopefully the weather will be better! X
Thank you! Fingers crossed!
Excellent just loved the vid…x
The great British weather eh? Fab to see you guys using the Crafter and have to say the children are gorgeous 🥰🥰
Aw thank you so much! It was great to get away, despite the weather!
Great video. I really enjoyed it. Such a shame about the weather! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much for watching 😊

We’re due perfect conditions next year now I think!
I lived there as a kid in the 70's - got to see a Concorde their 😀
Looks like you had a great time i see summer hasnt changed much.
So true! Thanks for watching!
Looks like a fun air show even with the rain.
Great vid peeps
Loved it.
Thank you!!
Great to get out in the van. Congratulations on the new addition to your family
It sure is! Thank you!
Loved your videos and this makes me want to go. Can I just ask what brand your orange chairs are please and what the one is you got for Harvey please
Brave with the two little ones - well done!
Which awning have you got (the orange one)?
Thank you Nicole. It's just a cheap one from amazon (worked a treat) - amzn.to/44Y6DHQ (affiliate link)
Thanks - I got one, and my son immediately stole it for his camping trip to the Peaks/Lake District this week!
Will I see it again? 🤔
great video, thought i would be in the background getting towed out lol , booked and ready for 24 :)
We are booked too! Can’t wait! Fingers crossed for nicer weather!
I must have seen you guys because I was at Townsend the whole time watching the aircraft it was brilliant amazing video !
Thank you so much!
Great content. Cudos for getting off that field with a 2WD LWB 😂
I had tickets for the Friday but by the time i had quit my job it was 10:30 and i had to drive down to RIAT from Cumbria , so didnt do it ....next year ;)
Wouldn’t have been worth it as it was so rainy. Fingers crossed next year is perfect weather!
Can't beat the red arrows! Lancaster was a real treat I bet?! Four rolls Royce engines are so sweet 👌
Definitely going next year 🤙
Absolutely. The noise is amazing!

Thank you very much for watching. It’s a Uniden UBC125XLT and yeah it’s really easy to use. There’s loads of videos online to help as well
@@ABusAndBeyond Thanks so much for your reply, I’ll check it out. Do you also use an FM radio to listen to the airshow commentary?
Yes we used a brilliant little radio from amazon - amzn.to/3Dwnvty (affiliate link) Amazing they can even make it for that price

Since we’ve had two years of extreme weather, hopefully next year we’re due perfect conditions! 🤞
Great video. Any idea when the campsite releases on line booking for next years show roughly?
I think they’ve released some spaces already.
@@ABusAndBeyond thank you. I'll send them a message
Hello from Fair Oak , Eastleigh, love your content guys.
Where was that campground as we’d love to go there and see all those great planes ? 😊
It’s Fairford Airshow Camping! 🤙

A hardy lot these Air, Wind and Rain Show attendees. A Bus and Beyond the Call of Duty Summer Special.
We deserve a medal for surviving I think!
Wow I didn't know that Air Traffic Control. Have you got a fish tank in your work rest area?
Been watching you today in navy field filming, my mate shawn wants to say hello
Tell him to come on over 👍
Hi what camping chairs have you got they look really comfortable

We were in Navy 👍
Thank you x
You could tow one of those GL360 power packs behind your van…..
😂
How long does it take to walk to the airshow from the campsite please? X
Takes quite a while. A good 30mins I’d say. It’s a very safe route but quite a way

Perfect description!!
A success! Exciting stuff. Shame Mother Nature wasn't in a better mood pfffft
Standard!!! But electrics worked great!
I've just bought a camper cv400 How are you finding it .
It’s really good. We may have to upgrade to something a little bigger now we have two kids but it’s still very good. Nice and compact
Bit different to last year. I was pushing my husband in a wheel chair last year in 34 degrees…
Last year was unbearably hot especially on the hot tarmac! That must’ve been v tough!
👏👏👏👏👍⭐️
