1. Writing a Joke (Setup, Premise, Establishing Audience's Expectation & Breaking it) 2. Delivery (Expressing the joke, Be 100% invested in the joke) 3. Revising the Joke (Adding Specificity, Funny > Offensive ✔, Cadence) Practice, Read & Listen a lot

Except I have some vague clue as to what I'm doing in Dark Souls, comedy is like playing dark souls but the console isn't connected to a TV or monitor.
Me too. I think bc it's too long and too unexpected? I can smh relate to make microwave noodles or arguing with someone but I can't relate to thinking about eggs. I would've laughed if yesterday I thought about if a half of dozen eggs is steal a meal
I'm halfway through the video and I keep having dejavus. Looking back at my life I noticed I cyclically feel the need to become funnier and I land right here every single time. And every single time so far this video has helped.
I've learned there are really only a few steps to succeeding in comedy. 1) Build an initial premise for people to latch on to. 2) Navigate a subject in a way that makes it seem a little more interesting than it would be in normal conversation. 3) Establish a turning point where people start to question whether or not the punchline is going to happen. 4) Then conclude with an additional step that doesn't actually provide the answer but mentions that it's all about the journey and that sometimes it's not worth clicking "read more."
The jokes that make me laugh the most are ones that only reveal point A and point D and make us figure out what B and C are. Bonus point if it's dark humor. Example: I was blessed with a nine inch penis... That priest is in jail now.
loool I did not see the show more thing so I thought it just ended at "I was blessed with a nine inch penis...". Took me a few seconds to get it, then actually laughed out loud.
I do not find any comedians funny only person that is funny out of all of em is gabriel iglesias. I genuinely dont find myself laughing at most comedians jokes idk why they are just boring.

"Eating my feelings with chopsticks."
That wins

I often laugh at my own jokes so people know to laugh. Works every time
I just tell dad level jokes, laugh about them myself, then everyone in the room start laughing. Since my laughter is contagious. ;)
If you can't be funny, have a stupid laugh.
Got it.
I try that but, it doesn't work
Same but then you have trouble distinguishing whether or not it's a genuine laugh
iJplay sometimes a weird fake laugh makes me laugh genuinely due to how silly it is
Yo, this guy sounds like the dude from Khan academy

Imagine this being your first video you’ve seen of him.
Promo Craft, this is mine
XDDD
His name is sal khan.
He's been laughing a little this video. Never heard him laugh before.
He's nervous because he's got cancer
Giddy up.......

Sending this to people is my new favorite insult: it instantly kills their ego while educating them and introducing them to the comedy GENIUS that is Casually Explained.

You Laughed! You literally laughed, has this ever happened? lol
+Al Merzenigab
the joke was a funny analogy but i actually disliked that delivery, woulda been better if he kept his monotonous tone, end scene.

that veronica was a nice touch
1. Writing a Joke (Setup, Premise, Establishing Audience's Expectation & Breaking it)
2. Delivery (Expressing the joke, Be 100% invested in the joke)
3. Revising the Joke (Adding Specificity, Funny > Offensive ✔, Cadence)
Practice, Read & Listen a lot
Yes this is by far the most serious video but it was also very on point from a psychological stance of the general audience of comedic and then some
you guys ever tell jokes just to flex on the mute?
Wow, really? I’m vegan

Underrated comment. I had to do a double take when i heard it.
6:34 , "Hello 911, i'd like to report a murder"

911 Dispatcher: “ I swear to god if you’re another kid calling about someone murdering a joke, I’m going to ram a crooked carrot up your rectum.”
Holy shit that burn :D

Class clown: WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!
Comedy is like the Dark Souls of art
I will never be good at dark souls
I guess we just have to roll with it
Difficult at first, but much easier the secondnand third go around.
Good simile, by the way. :)
Dark Souls is a game based on trial and error. In comedy, you can't perfect one strategy, you have to try a new one every run.
Except I have some vague clue as to what I'm doing in Dark Souls, comedy is like playing dark souls but the console isn't connected to a TV or monitor.
Why did “Make microwave noodles” and “argue with my wife” get me but “wonder about a half dozen eggs is still a meal” not get me
Are you one of those Boomers?
@@Jartran72 it’s one of them I tell you
I didnt get it either
I swear if he said "beat my wife" i wouldve been on the floor
Me too. I think bc it's too long and too unexpected? I can smh relate to make microwave noodles or arguing with someone but I can't relate to thinking about eggs. I would've laughed if yesterday I thought about if a half of dozen eggs is steal a meal
...and now forget everything, take a picture of literially anything, oversaturate it, put a random noun and radial blur in it and gg easy 10/10 joke

Pure GOLD!
I tip my hat to you kind sir
I almost want to be mad about it
Well played sir.
This should be the top comment 😂😂
... to inside jokes
“Rachel”
“Bruh”
Lmao😂
The jokes that make me laugh the most are ones that only reveal point A and point D and make us figure out what B and C are. Bonus point if it's dark humor. Example:
I was blessed with a nine inch penis...
That priest is in jail now.
OMG LOL That was a good one. So basically, jokes that make you think.
Jokes that leave blanks and make you fill them in with your dirty dirty mind
I'm guessing Jimmy Carr ist pretty much right up your ally then, right? :D
loool I did not see the show more thing so I thought it just ended at "I was blessed with a nine inch penis...".
Took me a few seconds to get it, then actually laughed out loud.
I laughed at this joke way more than I feel comfortable admitting xD
I love the offensive vs funny trade-off, makes so much sense.
I like these more semi-serious videos you've been uploading recently.
When in reality the lengthy seriousness is just a platform to express even dryer humor
* Amy Schumer wants to know your location *
can't even keep a straight face for the final punchline, love it
Even the man himself almost cracks at it haha
I do not find any comedians funny only person that is funny out of all of em is gabriel iglesias. I genuinely dont find myself laughing at most comedians jokes idk why they are just boring.
True! Most people agree that art isn't objective and that popular opinion doesn't define an art's quality, but for comedy, public opinion is all that matters.
Man I really love your delivery. There's something so great about how little time you give for the jokes to sink in and as you're moving onto the next sentence I literally have to pause the video to laugh.
Also, this is probably a sentence I should never say, but the cancer joke at the end was *chefs kiss*
I definitely support you making a series about comedy writing! You're definitely one of the best comedians out there, hands down! I would like to know how to make others smile and laugh just like what you do to me... 😊😊😊
“Killing a baby isn’t a funny
*maybe it is a bit funny”
That part made me lul
the most complex thing i do in my kitchen is rushing to the microwave to stop it from beeping at 3 am
This video taught me more about comedy than my arts degree did
Same here, but to be fair this video also taught me way less about sculpture than my arts degree did.
it shouldnt have becasue if you have an arts degree your life is the joke
That's weird, I thought an Arts degree was a joke.
At least a degree comes with invaluable years, if not a lifetime of debt
This is the most informative video I have seen you produce.
