I just put the powerhobby 760MG in my X-Maxx... I've burned through THREE 2085X's. My stock servo stripped immediately. Traxxas warrantied it. After burning 3 2085x's (two lasted less than ONE pack! One died after 2 packs), I put metal gears in my replacement 2085. That was back in April 2021. It burned out a few days ago. Today I installed the powerhobby 760MG and I'm BLOWN away dude. It's just nutty.
@@AGNDAHOUSE it's his driving. Put a net over your rc, keep rocks out. I bash in the dirt. Rough terrain and if I see it driving wierd and steering is funky check for rocks.
my 7749 servo adapter has way too much wiggle room in my XRT. I ran the screws down so tight and it pancaked the posts and split them. Replaced the XRT chassis with a new one and its better but its loose enough even when tight to the point any more will damage plastic that it will dislodge itself from those little ears and fall into the cavity of the truck. Tried washers as well but the mount just flexes and it pushes out from the post. Ordered a GPM aluminum servo mount to hopefully fix the issue.
I am going to be fitting a new servo soon. But I was just wondering does the servo horn have to be the same length as in centre from the 25t spline to mounting hole for the arm.
Hey. Thanks for the video. Just tried to install this, but having trouble refitting the front end. I guess because the servo is too tight. Did you have this issue?
You have to use a new horn. The best bet is to get a promodeler horn. I just went through the whole process with the reefs 500. And you don’t wanna use a plastic horn with meal gears.
Man, I tried 2 different 1/10 servos in the xmaxx, from aliexpress cheapo 15KG (IN THEORY, stronger at 6v than the 12KG stock one) to a 90$ 40KG one, and they all move super slow and sluggish, I might just be paranoid but it creeps me out, it's like traxxas knows you are not using their servos, lol, I had to go back to the stock one since it works faster and stronger than all the standard ones I tried, wtf...
@@GReviewzI don’t think he realizes all the xmaxx trucks after some runs generate some buzzing and awkward noises after some hard hits and bounces keep sending her till it gives out and replace it 🤷♂️

How is your servo after a couple months of use?

Do you need to have any adaptor for that servo? Also do you need to add a BEC for a more powerful servo?
Oh man. Still going strong and still kicking ass.
@@willeymunda you can. But I use the stock esc and it works amazingly well.

Would like to see operation with tires on at stand still. How was that for twitch?
What's the point in using a HV servo when the rx runs off 6volts, unless you are getting power from a UBEC
Hi, really glad you dint have to rip out any plants and planning on going with this after seeing your video
Quick check, is it still running fine?
All is running fine :)
Would you still recommend this servo? I need to upgrade my xrt. Thanks for the video
Yup I agree stock servo sucks, I went through quiet a few, I did change the Maxx servo, so need to do the Xmaxx now...thanks for the vid!!👍👍
How the new servo holding up? I need to replace my stock one as well. Thanks.
Still working well!
When u install the servo does it need to be programmed specifically meaning the voltage use or do u just put it in and it works.
you didn’t need BEC for that servo?
What is a bec?

You likely have to trim the top mounting ears on the new servo. I had to do this to get the bulkhead clear the new servo while reinstalling
Is there another way trimming the body?
Is it possible to use a stock steering horn or do you need to use a alloy one? Can you get plastic horns?

What Battery you use ?
6700mah 4s traxxas batteries
would this work well with an xmaxx upgraded power hobby 8s system with power hobby esc?
Yes it will!

That esc sounds like it needs the attention just as much as the servo
What makes you say that?

It is good
Ahem.... 😉😁🤣
