The "hole in the neck" in that one concept art of Lady Margaret is not just to allow more direct access to the lungs for the cigarettes. Damn, the ending to munch's oddysee we got for some reason sounds much kinder in comparison to the scrapped one we didn't get. I just gonna drop my prediction:The Glukkons are one of the chosen races and they had at some point a Glukkon moon. But the moon got somehow removed and that caused them to turn "evil".
My prediction is the moons appearing are a sign of spiritual awakening or redemption. The Glukkons don't have a moon because they've yet to achieve that in any way. This still leads to an interesting dynamic in which the Mudokens misinterpreted their moon as some ethno-supremacist symbol and inadvertently hampered the Glukkons. While unlikely, I think it would be a neat twist to the formula if Molluck somehow achieved this spiritual awakening. Maybe not through helping Abe (as that's too sacchrine) but by realizing the Glukkons are woefully off course and he decides to just...leave Abe alone in favor of forcing his own race to return to spirituality. He could still be resentful to Abe and the Mudokens for their shenanigans, but also realize they're not worth losing his enlightenment over.

Maybe the glukons status symbol of living underground sprang from their hatred of the Mudokan Moon? I.E. They wanted to move as far underground as possible to avoid looking at the moon and that eventually turned into a status symbol. Maybe that's also where Airships as a status symbol come from, essentially saying "I've completely moved past fearing that moon but you haven't, have you?" Essentially it's a way of saying they've become so wealthy they no longer fear the moon to the point of almost mocking it by flying around in airships.

Love this channel and all your theories. I wish Lorne Lanning would discover it and comment about how accurate you are or what they had originally intended.
I think it is the extremes that make it a status symbol. The more beings you need to subjugate to make something possible the higher your status is. Also I think it is to show the difference in form. The queens are the source of life. So their station is more...spiritual. Thus the lofty position of her residence. Where as her sons are all dealing with the more mundane aspects of the Empire and thus it is seen as desirable to be further down. Not only showing how they are subservient to their spiritual leader but still keeping up with the tradition of showing wealth and status by being as inaccessible as possible.
You know, I love this lore but before munch I half expected there to be one MEGA queen that gives birht to all life. That would be pretty oddworld but I cannot wait to meet and battle the gluk queen :D
Well I still think in the Oddworld reimagining that the glukkons below her that also help run the Magog Cartel's Motors division of the factories' head C.E.O.'s are all Glukstars of different colored scenequinced suits. With bronze, silver, and gold obviously representing the highest status of each position obviously. Where their far more intelligent and skilled at running their corporation divisions then Morger, Aslik, and The Brew Meister were.
Also those Glukstars I mentioned now that you state your point pupbenny might be more more powerful that would be apart of the Magog Cartel/ Motors Division than Lady Margaret really is in Noly Bab in the HD Reimaging New game that given how popular Oddworld Soul Storm probably will be because how semi original it was will most likely release sometime next year.

Didn't think about any of this. I really love these videos because I've been playing this my whole life but seeing that is changing the way I see the game now.
I have a question. Who are customers To glukkon cartel? Their whole society is about profit and all glukkons are members in The cartel, and all other species are either enslaved or turned into food. So Who are customers and Who create profit?
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath shows that there are other industrialist species like the "Chicken-Pig Men". They, presumably, buy a lot of Glukkon products. The tribal races that are not enslaved also buy Glukkon products. Abe and his Mudoken tribe are only one group of Mudokens. There're others who've never been enslaved and just see the Glukkons as a corporation to buy from. Stranger's species, the Skeefs, and their allies also buy Glukkon products.
is there society outside of the magog cartel and the vyyker conglomerate, or some kind of higher authority that they answer to such as that of a nation state or some kind of united nations
Soulstorm seems to be suggesting Molluck is an anti-hero. A foil to Abe who also wants to take down the cartel as vengeance for his factory being destroyed. Jury is out on whether he ultimately joins Abe or not. I predict he'll be a lone-agent type that doesn't like Abe, but hates the Magog more so he leaves Abe alone.
Another interesting facet of Margaret's (and possibly the Glukkon queens in general) character is that her worth is based on the reproductive service she performs. The idea that if she were to be unable to lay eggs she would be liquidated is interesting in that it shows no matter how much power or wealth she has she first and foremost is a resource for Magog Cartel. Something to be used until exhausted in the same way they treat everything and everyone else. Her perilous position in Glukkon society may be characterized by her residing in an airship, above everyone else but also in constant danger of crashing to the ground far below.

I realise that’s kind of a main theme of odd world Someone is a slave of someone Muddokons might be slaves to Glukkons but they are dependent on them working or else everything fails Vice versa is Sligs with Glukkons, brewmaster and the other Glukkons, and especially the queen
Something as overly extravagant and wasteful as living your life on a blimp seems very appropriate to a Glukkon. To her, she's not close to the hated moon, she's ABOVE it. I think the blimp is a demonstration of the hypocrisy of the Glukkons. Of course being underground is a thing for Glukkons. It's like saying, if you can't be at the top, you might as well be at the bottom. So because nobody can be above Lady Margaret, they all contest to be as deep as possible instead, ironically becoming much further away from their beloved queen. This could also be a metaphor on how the top brass of companies is so detached even from their own subordinates, never mind the standard slave labour.
Wouldent be surprised if there was a glukken empress in a later game and the other queens turn out to be the underbosses are just the faces of royalty “puppets”
Hey Pup could you do a vid on the Khanzumers (consumers) I always wondered about them coz they sell shampoo but Mudokons, Glukkons and even Clakkerz don't have hair. Thanks
Perhaps there’s a race on Oddworld that are more mammalian-like/have hair who live in the more urbanised and higher class regions of Mudos or other continents of Oddworld which we haven’t seen yet.
unfortunately the queen of england did hold actual power, power she had used to revoke the leadership position given to one of australias best PMs in our nations young history. Didn't think about any of this. I really love these videos because I've been playing this my whole life but seeing that is changing the way I see the game now.
I Hope We Might See Lady Marget The Glukkon Leader In The Future For Oddworld
So do I! :)
16:57 Halo 3 fans: *We know a think or two, because we’ve seen a thing or two.*
If the game after soulstorm is to be about the mudockon mother maybe it will feature lady margret
is there society outside of the magog cartel and the vyyker conglomerate, or some kind of higher authority that they answer to such as that of a nation state or some kind of united nations
This neatly ties into the theory that the Magog Cartel is run by Octigi, considering Lady Margaret is a mere figurehead.
14:27 Bruh it’s Babylon backwards.
Is alot of this concept art and lore in the abe's origins book?
Yeah, I got some of it from that. :)
2:21 now all you have to do that?
I mean why do you have to do that to him?
Honestly I thought we'd see the trial of molluck in soulstorm. With lady Margaret.
Her perilous position in Glukkon society may be characterized by her residing in an airship, above everyone else but also in constant danger of crashing to the ground far below.
this oddworld stuff is new to me and its really cool to learn about, keep these videos going!
A lot of these designs remind me of characters from Pink Floyd: The Wall
2:21 Pardon?😅
That insulting tune is hilarious.
Good thing Molluck didn't heard that.
LOL
She's like the Cruella De Vil of Oddworld
Super visual effects. Cool! I wonder why are this lore is not in games(
Civil war between industralist...thats sounds intense...
could we get some stuff on the mudokon queen?
She's high up on my list! :)
10:25 TBH it would be almost cathartic to see this tiny frail old lady crushing windpipe of current Prime Bozo with her tiny white gloved hands.
Been an oddworld fan since it came out (i was a kid) i play the first too games every year trying to get the good ending 😂 now im 35 and last week i finally got the good ending on exoddus 😂 i had no idea oddworld had such a deep story! I wish i could get the concept art book 😢 i just want to say thank you pup for the amazing and educational videos! Kisses from japan
Minor quibble: Robin Hood didn't steal from the rich. He stole from tax collectors, and gave to the people they were overtaxing.
Yes, people always seem to overlook this. I'm sure some smoothbrain communist thought he was really clever making that nonsensical meme as well.
There is literally no definitive records on robin hood sooo..
@@wolfehoffmann2697
Robin Hood is an English patriot who has been kidnapped and held hostage by dirty communists.
@@jass9571 Speaking as an Englishman who even visited Nottingham castle, while yes he's clearly a fictitious character that doesn't change the fact the story is always about him taking on the Sheriff of Nottingham as he taxes the people into destitution for greedy Prince John (although in reality John was just trying to pay off the massive debts his warmongering brother incurred).
"and produces Glukkon's so to-"
Continue her species.
"to run her factories."
Oh.
"like her great grandmother. Then who is after her?"
The top person.....
That fucking bastard moon that started all of this shit. There's like.....Hell, I don't know, more depictions. One side has the Mukkons, the other the Gabbits, then one of those one beast from the Westren game, and his followers. And to just piss off the Gukkons the moon has the sligs and to piss off the Vykkers, the interns. Because again, that moon is an asshole.
I think that the moon actualy is a warning of mass extinction events to the race it represents
@@stdhhx Or that.
Maybe they should've just blown up the moon lol. Oddworld's got enough of 'em.
@@pupbenny Now there's an option.
I always had this wild theory that the ultimate bad of the bad of Oddworld is actually a Human being who enjoys nothing more than to make a high profit and have such power that they can crush anything or anyone they choose aswell as slowly destroying Oddworld it's self for nothing more than Power and Profit. 🤔
I still beliving QUEN MARGARET she will appea in the next game of the soulstorm...i hope so...i mean she deservert! Also they made the 3d model before!
This odd world lore is super interesting
I just realized nolybab is babylon backwards lol
I had so much fun smoking weed and playing the original Oddworld.
Every time I get to the end of a video I'm like: NOOOO pleeease keep talking~ 💙
XD I'll have to make more then. ;)
8:28 you left in the smudge on the screen
And Also, how did you find these & where did you hear of them oreviously
I hope we actually get to see Queen Margerate in the next Oddworld game, we should finally get to see the Mudokon queen atleast
Imagine if some of the investers were Mudokons...that would be a headfuck
If that were true, those Mudokons would be the lowest of traitors.
Can you do one about Sam the mudokon queen
will you ever do anything to do with the Strangers Wrath game?
Honk if Lady Margaret is dead.
I wonder if The Estate is in reference AGAIN to the UK ? With the Cartel being more organized?
I realise that’s kind of a main theme of odd world
Someone is a slave of someone
Muddokons might be slaves to Glukkons but they are dependent on them working or else everything fails
Vice versa is Sligs with Glukkons, brewmaster and the other Glukkons, and especially the queen
I'd definitely say there has been inspiration from the alien queen.
Gluktiguy are strong enough to subdue steef.
I'd hate to se what they can do to Mudokons
I guess in the final ever oddworld game abe has to finally kill lady magnet and destroy the glukkons, though thats just a thought
Are you going to do a video on the Mudokon Queen Sam?
Reminds me of artwork from Pink Floyd - The Wall
Yoooooo nice vid my guy where’d you find most of this? all I could find what was on the wiki and rumors?
unfortunately the queen of england did hold actual power, power she had used to revoke the leadership position given to one of australias best PMs in our nations young history. Lady Margaret would definitely be an over the top depiction of the royal family and its influence on politicians and the commonwealth as a whole.
Why doesn't she love in gluckingham palace?
she reminds me alot of Queen Slug for A Butt from Earthworm Jim at times. even some parts of the slig barrecks remind me of New Junk City(a level from EWJ)
Lady Magaret want to reach the Highground.
