I'd rather cling to self compassion, since we can't control others' impressions. Trying to make a good impression may cause us to stifle by caring to much about what other people think of us. By the way, I didn't have a good first impression from Olivia. But I gotta say her book is amazing (didn't finish yet) and I think the best way to make a good impression is by expecting good things for the interaction. In other words, not caring about the impressions of others, but expecting for a good first impression yourself will have from the other person.

As a lefty, I realize how lucky I am to be here. Throw in my left wrist birth mark and whew, I woulda cooked. Being here and thriving here are two different things, though. It's tough and I constantly feel in the way.
