People idealize small towns, but this is how small towns actually are: It's not that shitty things don't happen in small towns, it's that small towns bully the victims into silence.
I don't know why the teacher constantly defends and sides with them. My only theory is the teacher might be friends or family with them, or else the teacher wouldn't be going out of her way to downplay and defend them.
“Why wouldn’t you let your daughter go to the party?” It literally does not matter.it’s my kid, and I said she couldn’t go. Period. You taking her anyway is *literally* kidnapping.
Story 1: Sure, Astrid and Morton are creeps for sure, but can we talk about the teacher here? She keeps dismissing OP's claims, butting in constantly, enables their behavior, and tries to downplay their behavior? This is highly unprofessional and drastic action must be taken. The principal and the neighbors are total Gs for helping OP out though.
Also, the people saying they can't be 'pedos' because Morton was never alone with the daughter... They do realize women can also be awful child fiddlers, right?
It's not just the teacher who's behaviour is disturbing, the police man ex & O.P's husbands job are just as bad. I mean how is being stalked by your creepy ass neighbours for your daughter NOT an emergency!??
While I don't think Astrid and Morton are Ps they are definitely psychos. And there's major red flags: Saying that one of their daughters could pass as their own. Taking one of op's daughters to their house. Dressing and doing her daughters own hair without permission. Scolding op for being a "bad parent" Trying to bad mouth op to neighbors that will listen. It's very clear what they are trying to do and I'm so glad they got out of that situation. Let's hope the next new neighbors that meet Astrid and Morton don't have to deal with them like op did.
There is a final update on the first story, OP and her kids moved to another country, she refused to say where and honestly I don’t blame her. She told the principal who understood and as sad as it is, she told her daughter to cut contact with her friends in Norway because she didn’t want any info to be accidentally leaked. Her husband is still there but he will be joining them in the new year. Astrid had the nerve to come to the house to offer Xmas cookies but the husband told her to leave. The principal did tell the class that op’s daughter did leave the school but no other information was leaked. Astrid came over AGAIN asking where the daughter was! Op told two other neighbours what is happening and they are on her side. But her and her kids are safe, hopefully when the husband leaves they can put everything behind them. Edit: so there is a part I left out because op didn’t put it in her post, it was in the comment section, but someone here has mentioned it. The crazy ass couple called CPS on op and her husband about the kids saying they neglected them because op was overwhelmed but because of how quick op left she didn’t know about until she was already gone. So she left just in time!
I personally wouldn’t be satisfied until those two are dealt with by law enforcement. There’s no telling when they might try something like this with someone else. Sure the local cops aren’t helping, but isn’t there a higher authority you can appeal to? I’m not sure how law enforcement is structured in Norway, but I know that in the US if local police aren’t doing their jobs you can reach out to state police.
@@AgnikoFireking honestly I feel the same way. People like that deserve prison time. But due to how lacks law enforcement was op leaving was the best outcome for her and her family. I’m not from Norway either but I’m pretty sure there is something similar to state police.
That first story just gave me more and more chills as it went on. If your kid’s teacher is in kahoots with their creepy stalker/abductor, that’s a just a whole new level of YUCK!!!
I'm Norwegian, and what that couple is NOT acceptable behaviour. You do NOT abduct another family's child. You do NOT re-dress them withot the approval of the parents. You do NOT steamroll the parents' wishes. The OP was right in calling the cops. Not too sure on the pedo accusations. That can come back to bite her. Also, the ex of the teacher was not allowed to be a part of the case, because he was partial to the case (norwegian law)
Yeah I got the idea that this was some really small town as that everyone knows eachother stuff can extend to cops but that's quite some delusion too many people there had. They really didn't listen to the mother at all. You can't just start touching other people's kids, ew. It may not be sexual but I'm not quite sure about that either.
@@fdm2155- At least this wasn’t in America, where the police would be actively harmful and probably arrest OP for bothering them so much. (As say this as an American.)
Story 1: It's pretty clear that even if the p**o thing was false, the neighbors definitely want to replace the daughter's parents. Not only acting creepy around her, but then lying about OP being a neglectful parent afterwards. I don't think they'll ever be better parents if this is how they act. Hope the sons don't follow in their footsteps
Problem is since no one will take actions against his parents and he is brainwashed into thinking OPs daughter is his twin, he’ll likely join their insanity
The defense of him working with kids does not look good when hes kidnapping children and going against the explicit wishes of their parents. If anything that gives bigger predator vibes
The scariest thing about the first story, for me, was the fact that police wouldn't help because of the teacher's ex... when the people whose job is to help you don't, who will?
It's a personal thing all across the globe really. You will always have good and bad cops. As their job everywhere is just to enforce the law, even with all the extra qualifications and techniques they gain during better longer training time. Some cops go out of their way to help citizens, some look for excuses to fk someone up. Thats the human issue with given authority. Not all can handle power well.
You call the Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs. And tell them that the local police force is protecting a ring of pedophiles. And that one of the officers might even be part of them. And yes, touching children without consent is absolutely an invasion of privacy and pedophilia... They have shown an extremely unhealthy obsessions with children.
Update on the first story, op had one last post about the situation, they moved away safely and neither the teachet, nor Astrid got to know where to. Op is sad that the kids cant stay in contact with their friends but she wont risk any information leaking to the crazy bunch.
@@Leslie58 yes I felt stressed too, thats why I went to look for the update hoping the situation got better for poor op. Its sad that they had to move but its probably for the best.
If Astrid and Morten's way of handling grieving is by taking another parent's child without letting her know and stalking, they need serious therapy/counseling and a restraining order instead of people enabling them. I can understand that grief can really ruin a person but it isn't an excuse or allowed to be used as justification for this kind of behavior. There weren't anymore updates unfortunately but people were saying OP and her family need to fully GTFO because they brought up that Astrid and Morten could use the country legal system to take away their daughter under claims of neglect.
Yeah, Astrid gives mothers who underwent miscarriages a bad name. OP and her family really needed to run, not walk, away from that neighborhood that consists of such evil conspirators.
A pair of infant/toddler age twins were kidnapped by a woman who got her children taken away due to the woman's neglect and drug abuse. Thankfully the twin boys were returned home to their loving parents but this story reminded me of that and I feared Astrid might manage to take the daughter, so I am glad the story did not end that way.
I'm Norwegian and man that first story is so far removed from what we're used to see or hear about in Norway. We have our share of unhinged weirdos like every country, but cases like these are so few and far apart that it gave me whiplash. This makes me think it happened in a small town where most people know each other and don't want to go against their friends or acquaintances. I hope OP and her family got out of that town safely, since I think that was the only real way of making it stop. Small town communities tend to protect themselves by freezing out outsiders that come in and disturb their lives.
It doesn't matter their justification for their actions that Astrid, Morton and the teacher gave to OP and the police. KIDNAPPING IS KIDNAPPING. The teacher should be on the hook as well as she Aided and abetted Astrid and Morton kidnapping OP's daughter.
@@aduckofsomesortthey picked up a kid in their car and took them to another location without the parents consent or knowledge. That is abduction, which is crime in Norway.
@@LenaTate OP should have called the cops while she was still at home, and THEN gone to look at the creepy parents' house. Then the kidnapping would be clear and there would be a police record of it.
Story 1: I've actually seen stuff like this happen before. It's a very common tactic for trying to build custody cases and is more likely to happen in very small towns due to the sheer amount of corruption involved. The problem for OP is that Astrid and Morton both have close connections with the school and the police department that makes it very difficult to get anything documented since all the harassment incidents from Astrid and Morton are being dismissed thanks to the principal and the police, even the kidnapping. If there's no national way to get this noticed, like a 911 call that would force outside involvement, there's really nothing OP can do but leave.
This. When OP said she gave the documents to the cops that the creepers were leaving in her post box, I was like "I hope they were copies or you made copies of them yourself because thoes cops will just shred em if they're corrupt." 😬
Story 1: Astrid and Morton sound like child thieves. They're so fixated on the idea of having a daughter that they've already adopted the OP's daughter in their deluded heads. Child grief can turn dangerous if not treated properly and since the people around them only enable their poor behavior, it's doomed to snowball into something worse. Sadly, a lot of places here in Scandinavia suffer from "That doesn't happen here" and it causes a lot stuff like this to fly under the radar.
Last story: Anyone remember that story prior to the pandemic when OP told her friend that naming her baby Karen was a really bad idea, and so many pre-April 2020 comments called OP TA? 1. Why do people think making up a name is a game? 2. Why do people not consider the long term effects of schooling, career and relationships with said messed up name?
The first story final update: A lot has happened in the last few days. I don't want to give too many details as this story has been leaked to other Social media without my approval. I also don't want Astrid and Morton to find this now that it's on several platforms. I am at my parents. We are all safe now. My husband will be joining us in the new year once he sorts out his new assignment. I won't say what country we are in now as my husband said that Astrid came by the house under the guise of giving us Christmas cookies two days ago wondering why my daughter hadn't been at school. He told her politely to leave. Before leaving I only told the prinicipal and not her teacher. Her principal understood and said it was her responsibility to relay that information to the class and the teacher. Today she was at our place again asking him where she was as the principal told the class that my daughter was sad to leave them but we had moved (no other details given). She made her school friends drawings that were given to them. Sad as it is I don't want her to contact her friends in case they say something to the wrong person. My daughter will make new friends and hopefully won't miss her Norwegian friends too much. I did tell two of my closest neighbours on the day I was leaving, but they were always on friendly terms with me and they were on my side all along. To be honest I dont' know where my husband might get sent next. For now we are all safe. Thank you for all the support. I know I didn't reply to all but I had a lot going on. Please don't hold it against me.
@@YourPal1because the op said that the story has gotten speard without her permission? and that this story being so widespread is incredibly dangerous??
@@epickody3924 sadly in another comment OP stated that she gave up requesting people take the videos down because as soon as she gets one taken down several more pop up. So while she would not want this video up she has been defeated and isn't going to try to stop it anymore.
*First OP:* I read this story before (it was wild!), and I thought OP and 'em were living in Germany or another European country, not the U.S. Anywho, OP was NTA. Her neighbors were creepy. *Second OP:* I've said it before, and I'll say it again: giving your kid a horrible name is second degree child abu5e as OP experienced. OP was NTA.
A lot of people gives Denmark shit for having a list of approved names, that you can name your child. But it is exactly with cases like the second story, that's the reason we have that list. So you can't abuse your child through the name
I found the first story. It is Norway where this is taking place. Others have guessed Denmark and Sweden. The former got a soft confirmation (Northern Neighbour) for Norway. And i agree, its disturbing as all hell.
At least the last story had a better ending than stories like it. And I know we should stop bullying but at the same time, don't give them fuel to work with.
The first story was so confusing because R/Slash was just adding in things that weren't there. What he was saying made no sense because he suddenly brought up America and I couldn't figure how that was in there when it wasn't mentioned before.. I went back to actually read it and America wasn't even mentioned.
In the first story i think OP should of said to the child that if either couple tried touching/talking to her then the child should at the top of her lungs "I DON'T KNOW YOU, HELP", being that they were continually escalating their behaviour, i'm not sure if that would be allowed or not though.
Wow, that teacher needs to be fired; she's way out of line here! I'm getting anxiety by just listening to this story and the many, many red lines that both Astrid and the teacher overstepped here! And let's not even start about those lousy police officers...
I’m also worried that Astrid and Morton are going to continue their quest and fixate on other little girls who might not be able to escape like Op’s family. Especially since the local police refuse to believe the neighbors had ill intentions.
It’s neglectful police like those that get children kitnapped, women raped and men murdered, and most times a mix each. They’re CLEARLY in obsessed stalker territory towards OP’s daughter, terrifying to listen to and gives me goosebumps
That first story, so creepy. OP should call the cops, but not the local ones, but one level higher, as these seem a bit incompetent. Also she should get a restraining order. Second story, in my school there was kid named Ariel. Unfortunately for him few years after his birth Ariel became a brand name for laundry detergent. After that he was called every brand name, but his name...
@@paladinboyd1228, but not mediately. She has other options to try before making this into international incident. Besides, they'll ask her if she tried them first. This is a simple case of unhinged neighbors - local constabulary should deal with them...
@@urgon6321 The only issue is the police don't take her seriously as of which she was forced to flee the country with her kids as she mentioned in the update on the post.
Damn first story is wild, on updates OP said that Astrid and Morton called CPS on her (op fund out that they have been fosterparents in the past) “My husband told me that the CPS left a message with him that they hade recieved a bekymringsmelding”
When I first heard that story, I knew it had to be either Denmark or Norway (but mostly Norway). Based only on the culture, names and the use of "venn" and "julestjerne". Also, rSlash, the culture of America? I think you mean the culture of Norway Oh, I love how you pronounce "julestjerne" as Jules. That's kinda cute
Not even Norway was mentioned in that sentence. The sentence after OP said the countries, she said she understood the culture. He added in the word America for whatever reason.
this story. what freaks…. No other words, what freaks, Just holy moly…. I hope op and her daughter are safe now. I am wishing them all the best. Such a thing can be traumatic for a child
If that first story was in america, and anything happens to the girl despite repeated warnings and calls, there are probably some lawyers whod make it fun for the local police and school for the next couple years until a nice settlement was reached. After all, they were definetely made aware.
Story 1: even if they did get her kid in some weird lie, I get the really weird feeling the minute the kid isn’t exactly as they’ve dreamt her up to be, they’ll end up being abusive because she isn’t biologically theirs, they basically want a trophy who lives up to their preconceived notions
There was an update to the one story about a week ago (I know rslash records these a bit in advance so it may not have been up when he read this one) The update is a good one for those worried about the kid. They're all safe and out of the creepy neighbors reach.
And even better, they left just in time because the neighbour called CPS on them. But thankfully CPS can't do anything since OP & the kids are out of the country.
The way that police have been summoned so many times but yet- both the teacher and Astrid WERE STILL not taken away AND STILL continuously tryna take ops daughter!😠
The first story is terrifying. All of that persuasion to get the parents to be okay with other parents dressing up kids that AREN'T THEIR OWN is a red flag x 100000. That is extremely strange behavior
The teacher needs to get fired and the police department needs to get cleaned up - nobody is acting professionally. And holy crap, what did I just hear.
7:14 - "She said she didn't know she had crossed the line" when she was told MULTIPLE TIMES to stop messing with OP's daughter!? That lady (not the teacher, even though she's just as guilty) needs a serious reality check and needs to stop living in the past, jesus christ...
As a mom, this story terrified me. I'm so glad that the mom got herself and her kids out of there before something horrible happened. No amount of grief that Astrid is going through justifies what she is doing. I hope she never finds other girls to latch onto and attempt to steal.
When my wife was pregnant we had a discussion about what to call the kid. Both of our fathers liked their names, they went well together, and both would have been pleased to have a child named after them. The girl's name was more difficult as neither of our mothers particularly liked their names and they didn't go well together (think "Billi Sue" only worse). After a lot of discussion we came up with a girl's name that we could live with. Naturally we had a daughter who's an only child.
That was so confusing. I had to go back and actually read what was there because the mention of America made no sense, and it wasn't even written anywhere. R/slash was just adding random countries in.
@@CatCheshire Op said she understood the culture, referring to the country they are currently in, but Dabney added in the word America to the sentence.
What I hate the most about that story is how everyone who was acting weird around OP’s kids were also gaslighting her saying “stop overreacting” “don’t be hysterical” “this is normal here” trying to lie and convince OP this is ignorant and a culture clash when in reality that couple were being genuinely creepy 🤢 I’m so glad OP saw thru their BS
"Kidnapping and undressing your daughter doesn't make us bad people" - I like how the teacher just distanced herself from the actions of the neighbours.
Don’t you love it when law enforcement doesn’t do anything even when OP’s daughter er was LITERALLY KIDNAPPED?! Being taken into a car and taken somewhere else without the parents knowledge and consent is the *literal definition of kidnapping*
While losing a child is a horrible experience, it never ever excuses behavior like this in the first story. Glad someone posted the next update in the comments, good lord poor OP and her family. Hope the grieving parents get some therapy, and the people involved who were trying to claim that their behavior was okay get educated about what is and what is not okay. Seriously is it going to take this couple straight up kidnapping other people's children for them to realize that they aren't dealing with their grief in a healthy way?
Story 1: what the heck??? They both need serious psychological help! Like I understand it’s hard to lose a baby, it you don’t go around trying to steal someone else’s child! I really hope op and her family are safe.
The husband's bosses don't find stalking and possible kidnapping important enough to leave work for a few days? Lol wtf? Edit: also, im curious to the daughter's reaction to being taken to the 'Hallowveen' party. Since she knows she's not supposed to talk/take things to/from them (throwing away the cookies) so I really, really wanna know if she was OK with it or telling them 'NO!' and they took her anyways 😶
The story about op's daughter who was redressed by the neighbor is that she needs to take out a protection order against her neighbors for harassment and for trying to kidnap op's daughter and yes the neighbors were being so weird and creepy and hope that op and her family move far away from the creepy neighbors

Considering that I have other children it's strange that they are fixating on the two blonde grey eyed ones and not the ginger one with blue eyes or my boy who is also very blonde and grey eyed like my husband. I am so happy I got away. My husband explained our side and told them they could check out his travel itinerary. Provided details of the principal and a copy of the police report and a rundown of what had happened between us. The CPS ladies that visited still wanted to see the children, but my husband declined saying they had left Norway for good and were not Norwegian citizens. They said they would get back to him. I am little scared they might find out where we are as one of them has the same last name as Morton with a slight spelling variation even though it's a common name.
Hi! Norwegian here! IT IS NOT COMMON to show deep affection here. Especially not to other people’s kids. The stereotypes about us being very reserved are on point, many of them very true. What Morton(im guessing Morten… (norwegian name)) and Astrid have something very wrong with them. AND the reference to «Julestjerne» (Davids star i think) the story is that a girl was kidnapped from her parents ts just after birth and raised by terrble parents(there is much more to it and i cant explain it all) but i think the parents have a very good case for attempted kidnapping)
1st Story: We now have a #2 creepiest attempted kidnapping story. Yikes! If I was in this situation, the neighbors would be lucky to be able to walk and the teacher would be lucky to still have a job. Note to self, all fences need to be a minimum of 6.5ft tall. If I can't see over it, nobody can.

The CPS ladies that visited still wanted to see the children, but my husband declined saying they had left Norway for good and were not Norwegian citizens. They said they would get back to him. I am little scared they might find out where we are as one of them has the same last name as Morton with a slight spelling variation even though it's a common name.
@@grottymink7784"One of them have the same last name as Morton..." Yea, OP definitely got lucky leaving in time. If Morton has a personal connection somehow with CPS, then it's very likely OP would lose her kids. That small town is filled with too many questionable people.
Wow that was pretty crazy. It’s extremely unforgiving that they would take op daughter and put her in there car and take off. That’s freaking kidnapping!!! I’m so glad you got her back, seriously that couple is down right insane. And the teacher definitely deserves to be fired and the ex husband officer needs to be disciplined.
The Halloween story is STRESSING ME OUT!!!! It’s like this entire town is gaslighting this woman for putting up boundaries while having these random people be obsessed with her daughter. This is weird and gross, I hate it all. I’d move far far away.
The second story turned out really sweet! I love using Tinkerbelle as a nickname for the more common Belle, and letting a kid say danger is their middle is just too good
Story 2: Children can be cruel, and having an unusual name can be something to get bullied over. Not to mention this kid would have to put that name on resumes and professional work, assuming they don't change their name at all. Oof
Norwegian here, story one is absolutely insane and we do not claim Astrid, Morten or anyone related to them. You don't abduct a child and change their clothes without parental consent. It honestly seems like they're trying to substitute OPs kids as their own. Sidenote. Hallovenn translates to "Hallo-Friend". I personally didn't partake in this myself, but from what I understand, it's basically neutral, child friendly Halloween. No scary costumes, no horror. Just candy, soda and fun times in a setting made to include people of different cultures who don't celebrate Halloween for whatever reason.
Sometimes, stories like the Halloveen one, is so outrageous that some people would do such things, that it’s actually believable because of how crazy people can be💀
Story 1 had a final update. She and the kids are at their moms while her husband I believe is at the house waiting on his next deployment. Astrid had come to the house asking why tje girl was not at school.i think she figured out they are moving because the kids at school made her goodbye pictures but they won't reveal what country they moved to.
That couple in the first story is absolutely _unhinged!_ Not weird, not creepy, but _unhinged,_ full stop. They crossed way over into 'having charges pressed against them' territory and I sincerely hope that charges will be pressed against them. What they're doing is harassment and collecting Jules in their car and taking her a party for a day that her parents have stated they don't celebrate *is* kidnapping. They're not *approaching* kidnapping territory... They *already* kidnapped Jules when they put her in their car and took her to their house for their "Halloveen" party. They 100% are trying to kidnap not only Jules, but probably the baby too. I guarantee you that the only reason Morton didn't seize his opportunity to book it out of the park with OP's baby is because he probably wouldn't have gotten far with her and he knew it. Astrid and Morton are absolutely unhinged and maybe, just maybe, they need to spend some time in jail, but the fact that the police aren't even on OP's side is scary. OP and her husband definitely need to move away ASAP!!
1st story is the plot of a movie I saw years ago. It was Norwegian but I can't remember the name. It was a thriller as in the end the parents were chasing them before she got away on a plane. But it ended at a new country and school but after meeting the girls new teacher that teacher called the couple and said she started school there.
That story sounds like it could be a horror movie. Move to a new town, end up with weird neighbors who want to kidnap your kids, seems like the whole town is in on it 😬 Scary
There actually was a movie made about this premise in 2020 called Run. In it, this disabled girl found out that she wasn't really disabled and that her crazy mom had been poisoning her to keep her disabled so she couldn't leave her mom. The mom's biological daughter died two hours after she was born, and the mom in a fit of psychotic grief stole another couple's newborn baby, named the baby after her own dead daughter and then kidnapped her to raise as her own. The mom basically coped with her grief in a really toxic and unhealthy way by seeing the kidnapped girl as her own dead daughter, like a watered-down version of Mother Miranda from Resident Evil 8. She kept her false daughter disabled so she couldn't leave, because then the mom could keep living in the delusion that her original daughter was still alive through the kidnapped girl and would thus never have to properly come to terms with losing her daughter. If the kidnapped daughter left, though, the Mom would feel like her original daughter had died all over again. Morton and Astrid were probably planning on stealing OP's daughter so they wouldn't have to keep grieving their own dead daughters and could just pretend OP's daughter was theirs. Grief is a horrible thing, but the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid it are so, SO much worse.
Bruh, she gave that as an excuse for her intense response to being told how bad her name choices were. So, ya know, you don't see the connection because there isn't one.
Your statement appeared to imply someone attempted to draw a connection between the mom's naming sense and situational stress, but no one made such an attempt. Did you not mean to imply that?
Story 1: The teacher had to reassure that the daughter was never alone with Morton, that line just doesn’t sit right with me. Why do you have to make that clear?
Yes! That made me cringe when I heard it. Now I’m worried there might be other victims of Astrid and Morton’s fixation and the police are ignoring it all. I’m also scared of what may happen in the future because I seriously doubt those creeps will stop being a threat to other families.
That last story; can we all agree that danger as a middle name is awesome? Every kid says that at least once but that kid will be the only one not blowing smoke about it. And even later on, if others try to pressure him into something by saying “guess Danger isn’t your middle name,” he can go “It is. But dumbass isn’t.”
Story 1 : NTA.. " were not bad people we only wanted your child that is rightfully yours were not bad you have to believe us " .. nahhh op you did the right thing in calling them out for what they are. Morton and Astrid are giving off Karla hamolka and Paul Bernardo vibes.. yikes man op needs to report the teacher as well to the highest authority and not stop until the teacher gets told to sodd off as well.. how many times can op say no and stop that stuff to Morton abd Astrid before they get the point.. no op do not back down if anything add the teacher to your complaint as well.. Update: These frucking cops ain't gonna take anyone seriously until bad things occurs..best advice op move.. Story 2 : NTA.. is the friend mentally ok ??...
Mortin claiming your daughters could pass for his daughters was a huge red flag, I hope these people get some legal consequences and the Teacher too cause this is absolutely unacceptable and beyond creepy
I do hope for an update on the first story, Im Norwegian and I don't think I can't relax until I know they are all safe again. These people are nuts! And crazy! Disgusting!
The 1st story is like a convicted serial killer standing in court saying "Yes it's true" and then saying "In my defence I also bought my mother a birthday present". 😠🖕🤬
Story 1: I swear, I was already certain OP needed to take serious measures to protect herself and her kids. The neighbors' behavior was so damn creepy. All their actions up to a point showed they were basically trying to snatch OP's kid, given the boundaries that kept getting stepped on and the constant enabling by the others involved, especially the police and teacher. Those people are way out of line. Story 2: At least the friend realized she shouldn't have taken those feelings out on OP and being mindful about what she names her kid.
Last story: whenever you’re naming a baby, you should ALWAYS imagine your child 30 years in the future working at a law firm. Is anyone going to take a lawyer named “Tinkerbell Jones” seriously? What about “Daynger Smith”? Imagine Daynger trying to be taken seriously as a doctor - would any hospital want him? Name your pet that will stay a pet something cute and unique. Name your baby that won’t stay a baby, but will grow up into an adult with a job and a family of their own as if you’re naming them like an adult with a job and a family of their own. Unique name =/= ridiculous name.
This story reminds me so much of the "Dr. Ramsey story" from another channel. A girl passed a man on the way home from school and he talked to her claiming he was a pediatrician and he gave her a bad vibe. This man stalked their family nonstop and the police didn't do anything because "no one got hurt"
There is grief Then there is insanity. These folks are batshit . Keep your kid safe and get the heck away from there. I am sorry they lost their daughter..but that doesn't mean they can take or have yours. The police sound absolutely dense and atrocious .
Wow story 1 I feel like OP needs to file charges against her neighbors and if the police refuse to do anything then OP needs to go over them! Story 2 OP is correct about what her friend wants to name her kid.
S1) It's so digustingly uncalled for that everyone brushed OP's concern off. They enabled it to get to the point where OP's family were endangered. I personally don't care what your feelings are. What your culture is. If your grieving. You don't get to try and condition/groom another person's child into thinking they're your own. I'm enraged on OP's behalf. She had every right to leave that situation. Her safety as well as her families safety take priorities over these pyscho's fee fee's. I hope her family is able to stay safe and heal from this nonsense.
The mom with the daughter story: those parents are making this mom look crazy to report her. I would have lost my shit a long time ago this family, but that's probably what was expected. These people are nuts and not getting support from police sucks. This shit wouldn't happen in America. I feel so bad for this mom and family.
What terrifies me most on story one is that Astrid and Morton have personal connection with the school AND police
Even if OPs family escapes from their madness, they’ll just find another family until they succeed or they mess with the wrong parents.
@@lorilancaster5917hopefully, it's the latter.
Ain't you never seen a semi-rural Scandi crime drama? White Euro small town BS didn't *start* in America
People idealize small towns, but this is how small towns actually are: It's not that shitty things don't happen in small towns, it's that small towns bully the victims into silence.
The whole time I was thinking that this was the plot of a horror movie. Giving Midsommr vibes.
The teacher claims that they aren’t bad people and yet, they can’t understand clear boundaries that were reinforced REPEATEDLY.
Sounds like an enabler or is just as toxic
But Astrid said…..! That woman shouldn’t be a teacher
I don't know why the teacher constantly defends and sides with them. My only theory is the teacher might be friends or family with them, or else the teacher wouldn't be going out of her way to downplay and defend them.
@@dracko158 At around the 3:50 mark OP stated that the teacher is a childhood friend of Astrid.
@@this_is_a_tiny_town Ah. Now we know why the teacher is fiercely defensive of their actions.
“Why wouldn’t you let your daughter go to the party?”
It literally does not matter.it’s my kid, and I said she couldn’t go.
@@pumpkinpatch2203 Exactly! I was so confused with that reasoning. Impartiality people!
Classic case of being personally involved with a case, that teacher should be reprimanded and kept out of that kids class.
While I don't think Astrid and Morton are Ps they are definitely psychos. And there's major red flags:
Saying that one of their daughters could pass as their own.
Taking one of op's daughters to their house.
Dressing and doing her daughters own hair without permission.
Scolding op for being a "bad parent"
Trying to bad mouth op to neighbors that will listen.
Thank god
I'm so glad the children and op are safe now. I've heard too many frightening stories about people like Astrid taking grieving too far.
Thanks
The three of them probably like kids a little to much if you catch my hint
I'm Norwegian, and what that couple is NOT acceptable behaviour. You do NOT abduct another family's child. You do NOT re-dress them withot the approval of the parents. You do NOT steamroll the parents' wishes. The OP was right in calling the cops. Not too sure on the pedo accusations. That can come back to bite her. Also, the ex of the teacher was not allowed to be a part of the case, because he was partial to the case (norwegian law)
It's scary that the police were so incredibly unhelpful
Thank you, I was hoping someone from Norway would enlighten us about cultural norms
I don’t know a single western first world country where all of these aren’t illegal as hell.
Definitely they are predators
Problem is since no one will take actions against his parents and he is brainwashed into thinking OPs daughter is his twin, he’ll likely join their insanity
The twin thing is a big red flag. They definitely want to adopt the children or do something worse.
The defense of him working with kids does not look good when hes kidnapping children and going against the explicit wishes of their parents. If anything that gives bigger predator vibes
@holdendewit7088 Never mind that a lot of peds work with kids and do so to get close to their victims. The people using that excuse are idiots.
The scariest thing about the first story, for me, was the fact that police wouldn't help because of the teacher's ex... when the people whose job is to help you don't, who will?
Actually, cops went to court to say that they do not, in fact, have a duty to protect and serve.
@neebnabs i mean, that happened in America, but I'm sure many cops across the globe share that sentiment.
Mssrs. Smith and Wesson.
I was hoping there was an update. This post literally made me feel stressed out.
@@Leslie58 yes I felt stressed too, thats why I went to look for the update hoping the situation got better for poor op. Its sad that they had to move but its probably for the best.
Considering how the feels like the start of a horror movie, i dont blame op for trying to keep all info away from the crazy naighbours from hell
Op commented
“It's not the authorites but it's a small town and people grew up together.”
Yeah this feels like a warped town where Astrid and Morton control the whole town through manipulation. But it's real
Seriously the husband needs to leave that shitty job.
This doesn’t normally happen in Norway though
Boundaries are very important here and these people ran over the line with a buldozer
@@augustrnning7823 I think they just meant leave town. Why did you get so offended?
The first story final update:
A lot has happened in the last few days.

The first story took place in Norway.
I actually LOL'd at the phrase "Danger is my middle name." Thank you for the laugh!
Im not even a parent, and that first story made me feel panicky even before anything went down.

It’s neglectful police like those that get children kitnapped, women raped and men murdered, and most times a mix each. They’re CLEARLY in obsessed stalker territory towards OP’s daughter, terrifying to listen to and gives me goosebumps

The story heavily implied that the daughter didn't like those creeps either, they'd take that personally.
There was an update to the one story about a week ago (I know rslash records these a bit in advance so it may not have been up when he read this one)
The update is a good one for those worried about the kid. They're all safe and out of the creepy neighbors reach.
Thanks for that update; that poor family and that little girl deserve peace of mind.
And even better, they left just in time because the neighbour called CPS on them. But thankfully CPS can't do anything since OP & the kids are out of the country.
Next level gaslighting
Man that family is insane and creepy. I hope OP stays safe that’s so scary
when you say they understand the culture of America... did you mean Norway? because that is where they moved back to?
I think she meant that she knows how Halloween works and she just doesn't celebrate it
@@CatCheshire Robo is referring to a point in the story where rslash mentioned America, when it was clear that that wasn't what the OP meant
It's wild that this shit hasn't already branded them the pedos in their community.
6:41 they actively kidnapped your child and tried taking your place and undressed your kid, they knew exactly what they were doing.
Don’t you love it when law enforcement doesn’t do anything even when OP’s daughter er was LITERALLY KIDNAPPED?!
Being taken into a car and taken somewhere else without the parents knowledge and consent is the *literal definition of kidnapping*
My friend read the first story to me about a week ago and I was WAITING to hear it here lmao. So juicy
They need therapy and then realize that legal adoption is an option.
"Daynger" is my middle name would actually be epic.
That first story 😬 Red flags upon red flags.
The story about op's daughter who was redressed by the neighbor is that she needs to take out a protection order against her neighbors for harassment and for trying to kidnap op's daughter and yes the neighbors were being so weird and creepy and hope that op and her family move far away from the creepy neighbors
There is an additional update to the first story. They are currently safe and got out just in the nick of time. She's also not happy about the story being shared on other forms of social media.
A lot has happened in the last few days.
Please don't hold it against me.

aliencupcake: It's disturbing that the community is ignoring how the couple is mourning their daughters' deaths in an extremely unhealthy way. I don't think there was a sexual aspect to their attention, but a plan to kidnap their son's "twin" seems extremely likely with the best case scenario being them inserting themselves as co-parents and the worst case scenario would be fostering/adopting her after framing you for neglect or straight out absconding with her at some point.
I'm glad to hear that you and your family have gotten someplace safe where the couple and their friends can't reach you.
OOP: I am glad that I am no longer there. The country is beautiful and the last time we lived in Norway was amazing.
As for the coparenting thing. My husband told me that the CPS left a message with him that they hade recieved a bekymringsmelding (Notice of Concern as per Deepl). I managed to get out just in time. I didn't post this information as I only had a suspicion and didn't have all the details. My ex next door neighbour said that Astrid and Morton have been fosterparents in the past (prior to me moving there). Which is why she told them she thought I was an excellent mother when they tried to make it out that I was overwhelmed.
They had a girl placed with them a few years ago, but for some reason it was a short term placement. My ex neighbour said that child look Pakistani/Indian and she thinks maybe they ended it themselves as she didn't look a certain way. This is all speculation as she doesn't know why it ended.

OOP: I might just do that as the CPS left a messsage with my husband. They received a bekymringsmelding (Notice of Concern as per Deepl) about my children. Seems them trying to make me seem like an overworked and overwhelmed mother had an endgame.
KiyoMizu1996: These people are scary. Did you get any details on what specifically they said to cps? They should have reports filed against them w cps as surely they are a danger to children! Thank goodness you were able to leave the country. Make sure you continue to keep records of their behavior as there’s no telling how far they will go.
OOP: Yes, the CPS in Norway has to inform you who made the report and what the reason is in majority of cases.
My husband their reason for reporting was: "overwhelmed mother neglectful of oldest daughter and leaving the baby alone in the park in a pram" (I have not once left my baby alone in the park, not even in our own garden like most Norwegians do), "child missing too many days off school" (the principal was aware of this), "children looking unkempt and unwashed" (never happened), "adult third party saying oldest girl being hit by mother at home" (I don't know who this third party is that has already agreed to lie on their behalf and there weren't any visitors in my house so don't know who is pretending I invited them over only to make them witness me hitting my child), "their son telling them that my daughter told him at school that I hit her, yanked her hair and made her skip food every other day" (my daughter denies this as she and her friends avoided him due to him calling her his twin), "mother seems to be struggling with depression as she too is unkempt, looks like she has lost a lot of weight and husband might be abusing her" (well considering that my husband was offshore I don't know how they were thinking of making that stick as that can be easily be disproved with his work travel receipts), "baby also looks malnourished" (no, baby is in the healthy percentile for age and gender weight).
😢
13:28 It's better than that one story you read where the mom wanted to name her baby krxstxl
Damn, that reference kinda makes things all too meta.
That gave me so much “Speak no evil” vibes that was terrifying!! Keep running OP!! Really!!!
I hope we can get an update to know if that family is alright. Those neighbors are crazy and dangerous!
There was a post made yesterday with an update. They are currently safe and got out just in time.

@@grottymink7784"One of them have the same last name as Morton..."
Yea, OP definitely got lucky leaving in time. If Morton has a personal connection somehow with CPS, then it's very likely OP would lose her kids. That small town is filled with too many questionable people.
That whole police department needs to be investigated. Kudos to the nice neighbors and the principal for being so supportive and giving good advice.
The first story gave me chills similarly to when I watched Get out and Midsomer
“I can’t be swimming around with a bunch of 5 year olds, they can be so cruel when they sense weakness”
Honestly rslash, first story sounds perfectly normal and reasonable, that's just the way Norwegian people act in their psychological horror shows!
Sometimes, stories like the Halloveen one, is so outrageous that some people would do such things, that it’s actually believable because of how crazy people can be💀
Astrid and Morten seem like the type of couple to kidnap a child and justify that it’s because they’re grieving. That’s basically what they’re doing.
So this post is actually fake?
@melissaconnellyjones2622 half if not more stories on reddit are fake to get attention. This could be since it followed ghat movie closely.
Story 2: I do not see what the mom's stress level has to do with really, really bad name choices.
Bruh, she gave that as an excuse for her intense response to being told how bad her name choices were. So, ya know, you don't see the connection because there isn't one.
@@thegreatvalamir Yeah, that was my point
Your statement appeared to imply someone attempted to draw a connection between the mom's naming sense and situational stress, but no one made such an attempt. Did you not mean to imply that?
@@thegreatvalamir No I did not mean to imply that. The mom in the story implied that. I meant to imply that that was bs
I always feel bad for grieving parents.
This crossed SO MANY lines. SO MANY LINES.
Weird and uniquely spelled names like that often go into a different pile when looking at resumes. (Evil HR person of 20 years here)
If I had a boy I planned on naming him. James Alexander. For the exact reason that it would look great as a signature and on a resume.
Unique name =/= ridiculous name.
lol ya these would be names for like, a chihuahua maybe. nothing else would be appropriate
Story 1:, Oh, hell nah. That's just creepy and weird
If Astrid and Morton would’ve tried this in a place like Texas… they would have met the business end of a pistol a long time ago!
This story reminds me so much of the "Dr. Ramsey story" from another channel. A girl passed a man on the way home from school and he talked to her claiming he was a pediatrician and he gave her a bad vibe. This man stalked their family nonstop and the police didn't do anything because "no one got hurt"
There is grief
Then there is insanity.
These folks are batshit . Keep your kid safe and get the heck away from there. I am sorry they lost their daughter..but that doesn't mean they can take or have yours. The police sound absolutely dense and atrocious .
Astrid and Morton must be crazy rich. Everyone with power is on their side.
Oh, the amount of bad people, that others label as "not bad people" and tries to excuse their behaviour
Wow story 1 I feel like OP needs to file charges against her neighbors and if the police refuse to do anything then OP needs to go over them!
Story 2 OP is correct about what her friend wants to name her kid.
Always a great day when I can start it with rslash!
for me it's "always a great way to end the evening with r/Slash" I'm an American now living in the Philppines, 13 hours ahead of the east coast.
That first story would be an INCREDIBLE psychological horror movie
Jesus christ that first one...
The first story is the one of the best r/bestof I’ve heard in a while. Definitely going into my playlist.
0:46 'we understand the culture of America despite not being natives'
Norway + Germany = America?
I think this is the first time a Reddit story has legitimately given me the absolute creeps!
Opening the morning paper
