What are your practice sessions usually like, is there anything you dedicate some warm-up time to like Scales, Areppegios or Slap technique? you have an amazing ear and playing style! great session as always 🖤
Thank you 🥰 I don't practice scales or arpeggios, the only thing I do practice really is some slap techniques. I should probably start practicing some other things too 🙄 I do play a lot though, what I would call practice for me is just noodling around, playing, improvising, trying to play what I hear in my head is a big thing for me, so it's not just a mechanical muscle thing but rather it comes from my imagination.
Nice! Were you playing through an amp? Or some type of direct box into some type of recorder? I especially like how you switch up your method of playing. As nice of a bass as that is, my Squire Affinity J-bass is likely the closest I'll get to owning one? Although primarily a guitarist/drummer/modular synth nerd, I have managed to acquire an assortment of 7 electric basses, including a Fender acoustic. Thank you so much for sharing, and yes, I enjoy this format very much! BTW- it sounds really good- but, I do have a very good sound system with which to hear you on!
Thank you for the comment! I hook up the bass right into my pedal board which among other things does have an amp and cab simulation. I'm planning to make a video showcasing my setup soon! A squire jazz is going to sound very similar to the one I reviewed in this video!
Excellent video. I'd buy that guitar only if it came package with your playing skills. Do more videos like this. It is nice seeing you play instead of just the legs! Nice outfit.
I once bought an Ibanez Talman bass, but found out it was too "alien" to me. I'm a Fender Strat guy). But I'd like to see you take that bass and put it through the wringer! You've amassed a really nice pedal board setup.
I'll try different style bass guitars they have, then once I tried them all, I'll go to another music store :D I've never played any Ibanez actually! The most "alien" bass I ever tried was Rick, I couldn't believe how weird and awkward it felt!
I JUST WATCHED THIS AND IT MADE MY DAY TKU JOHN S
I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for coming in and playing, and for sharing your music and thoughts in this video! We appreciate you!!!
Thank you for having me Joseph! I'll definitely come again to test more basses!

@@TammyZawada I like that, "trying to play what I hear in my head "- it's what I've been doing for many years....

Turn off the effects!🙄🙄 Sounds like you playing thru a guitar amp. Sounds like crap
You are making a great point, for the next video I'll make sure to also include parts played with no effects. Thank you for a valuable comment.
