I'd like to see the expression on the store workers' faces when they hear her play! Their jaws probably drop open so wide they are vacuuming dust off the carpet. If they were smart they would setup a youtube channel with guest artists playing some of the instruments. And have store hrs for customers to come watch.
More than any other Jackson model, the Bass X, particularly the 5-string you demoed here, Tammy, has tempted me. It covers a wide range of tonal characteristics while also appealing to classic style aesthetic.
I can see why. It was really a great instrument to play. I love the tone and playability. The only problem for me was a little discomfort when slapping. It wasn't anything you couldn't get used to over time though. Oh and personally, I'd love if it was a 6 string
You’ve definitely got an affinity for six string models, Tammy. I can imagine myself wanting one if it was out there. He did mention that awkwardness while slapping, but I could also see your hands acclimating to it in the act. It may be a cliché that a person can get used to anything, but clichés exist for their truth.
Here’s a video I filmed a year ago of myself rocking out my Squier Bass Six. Slapping on that could be awkward, but I have never let it stop me. th-cam.com/video/slezdUB7yiI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8nnnoifU4xVYt9ZH
@@Shred_The_Weapon It would definitely not be a problem for long. Maybe I would end up modding it if it was annoying still after some time :) Oh, one thing I didn't mention in the video which I should have, this jackson really reminded me of a Rick. I only played a rick once in my life, but I remember it sounding very glassy, and I remember the ergonomics being similar to this Jackson. On my next road trip, I'll be hunting for a Rick in music stores to make a video with.
Just for giggles, I tried one of these at GC. My basses are all P or PJ-style, but have a big soft spot for picked Ricky's, and this seemed like a very affordable way to scratch that itch!
I Iove the Jacksonbacker too! I hear that most people hate. but to me, the idea that a company like Jackson making a guitar like a rickenbacker hits the mark aesthetically in my eyes. Some people just aren't cool enough to get it, and that's fine for them, I'll take theirs.
It felt very decent even straight from the shelf. Honestly it's hard to believe that action on any bass would be high on its lowest setting. Maybe however said that didn't set the truss rod correctly?
@@TammyZawada The action is high compared to how low I could get it on a regular bass. The bridge is really thick and the saddles too. IMO the bridge should have been recessed in the wood. (I plan on doing this on mine). My saddles are currently dropped at their lowest point and the neck properly adjusted with the truss rod. Since I use this bass for more aggressive playing the action is fine. If I played Jazz/funk/fusion on that thing I would need it way lower.
I’ve had the exact same Jackson for 2 years. I love it
Congrats! It's an awesome instrument!
A good review and I really liked your groove. I don’t think I’ve seen any other reviews mention the limited space for slap, so thanks for that.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it 🥰
that's one time that would be good to work at the store, just to get to hear someone as talented as you rock the store!
Funny thing is I play on my earphones so they can't even hear me :p
@@TammyZawada ohhhhh didn't think about that! kewl ;)

@@eddiemurphy15 lol well said, and an awesome idea!

I thought you’re not, Tammy. The design team at Jackson expressly wanted the X line to resemble the Rickenbacker line.

It's very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this bass. I'd definitely love playing it on a daily basis, if I didn't have 6 basses already :D
I absolutely love how these look lol
I totally agree, it is a beautiful bass.
How is the action on that bass? I heard it can be quite high even at it's lowest setting.

That guitar had your name written all over it. That guitar inspired you in different directions. Very interesting.
I find that different instruments can be very inspiring!

Nice t' hear yer voice.
Thank you
хороший инструмент!

That looks like a breeze to play & reminds me of a rickenbacker but smaller & I’m sure much cheaper
gives me that rick vibe. but not..?lol
Sorry, don't understand this comment :D
