      He wanted revenge but the rumour was that the rougeaus had strong mafia links in Canada and if Tom got revenge he or his wife and kids could have a hit put out on them so he had to let it be. It ate him up inside cos he had that locker room leader and tough guy aura that got destroyed after that

    • @tobysgamingworld1550
      @tobysgamingworld1550 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@patrickbateman9077I don’t think that’s why he never went for revenge. The version I’ve read from Bret and heard from Anvil is that Vince warned him that if it went any further he would be the one to lose his job and Vince also offered to pay for his extensive dental work. He went from being the locker room tough guy to being literally a toothless bulldog. His injury happened not long after, his divorce and his life spiraled out downhill. I don’t think it was because of some scary mafia rumors. The Rougeua’s were mostly talk. Jacques was 99% talk and still is. The story is Raymond was the legit golden gloves boxer who Dynamite had been goading after an injury to his knee “when your knee gets better come try me Raymond. Better get that knee looked at Raymond. You know where I’ll be” etc. Then he pie faced Jacques and Raymond (and their father) pretty much told Jacques how to handle it and told him he better do it. It killed the legend of Dynamite but it also made Jacques get a big head. To hear him talk he’s some tough guy but nobody else ever got whipped by him legit so who knows.

    Yeah, though I don't know that Ray was looking to get cheapshots in. Ray said that he stopped Pat Patterson from breaking the fight up and that was his only involvement, aside from yelling at Jacques to keep jabbing Dynamite after the big punch didn't quite finish it. Ray had a reputation as a tough guy, taught boxing by his dad Jacques Sr. who had an even bigger tough guy reputation, Ray, if not for his knee injury, probably could have had a fair fight with Dynamite, without needing a loaded fist, I'd think he'd have too much pride to cheap shot Dynamite after Jacques landed the loaded punch, especially seeing as it was Jacques getting beat up by Dynamite that started conflict.

    Maybe Jacques could have beaten up Dynamite Kid. But that isn't what happened. Jacques sucker punched Kid with a roll of quarters in his hand. It wasn't even a fight. I understand that Kid was a jerk backstage and pulled all sorts of cruel ribs, but Jacques never stood up to him like a man and put him in his place. He wussed out by sucker punching Kid with a roll of quarters. For those not in the know, this works similarly to brass knuckles.

      So, bullies choose the vulnerable as their targets. If Jacques could have successfully stood up to him I'm sure he would have. It was clear nobody with either power or authority was going to help him So, instead of enduring repeats of what he endured untill he quit, he instead do what those who are bullied sometimes do. He snapped internally and escalated the situation to a level he though was required to make the abuse stop. This kind of response is well documented by peer reviewed documentation.
      If bullies were not so damaged they might take a lesson from incidents like this, but they don't because it goes against their methodology.

    Raymond wouldn't have gotten his shots in, he was injured which is likely why Dynamite felt bold enough to sucker punched Jacques. He did help Jacques prepare though.

      @@ThePauliebuck Dynamite attacked Jacques from behind which was a cowardly thing to do. He also put a gun to his wife's head which you apparently have no problem with. If Raymond didn't have an injured leg he would have taken care of it there. Vince should have had Dynamite arrested and pressed charges and that would have been the end of it.
