  • Hi! It is time to start fixing up the stainless steel trim on the 60 Plymouth Fury, and there is a lot of it! Also , more boogie van panel fab to keep the rust repair going, and a "Lite Hit" on my neighbour's wife's car! Dean stops in, too, and we'll have a look at a fun old hardcover periodical...
    Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! We do appreciate that anyone would take the time to leave us a note. If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at:

      Quite the "artist" on that stainless isn't he ??? Makes it look easy which is the classic "tell tale" of someone with tons of skill !! I'm sure he could earn a handsome living doing that stainless on all the classic cars. The Classic Chevies (55,56,57) have tons of it all around the windows and down the sides.

    2017: OMG, this car has almost all its trim! 2020: OMG, I gotta fix all this trim! Aside from the eyebrows, I hope that was the worst of it. Congrats for keeping a project moving that most people would have bailed on within a month.

    • @paristrout8469
      @paristrout8469 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did some rough calculations. If you include all of the emblems, and count the 8 "Plymouth" letters on the hood as separate parts, there are 56 pieces of trim/moulding on this car. Even if, as Scott says, he does one piece a day, it's still going to take him 2 MONTHS to put the trim back on, and that is just the exterior. I have no idea how many pieces there are inside the car. I would also like to know how many holes have been drilled in the bodywork to hold that trim on. I am guessing somewhere around 100. It's no wonder these cars rusted to the ground within 5 years. It's almost as if Chrysler WANTED them to disintegrate.

    I always enjoy watching everything you and the agents do. Jim looked so clean cut, I suspect sport coats and slacks will be next. I see Jim in a big house with a classic car collection, private school for the kids, large stock portfolio, dining with the local bankers and business owners. After his divorce, a trophy wife, vacations in Paris and Germany, shopping trips to New York and California. Where will it all end? All because he shaved his mustache.

    I have to think the Frankenstein-ness of this project automatically elevates it well above beater-car territory. So much time and skill put into this transformation-it’s a remarkable and unlikely thing you’re doing-means the end result deserves a better second life than salty roads and shopping cart hits. You’ll have a priceless one-off! I’ve loved every minute of it.

All Scott needs to do is win a lottery and get Nick to build him a nice 318 Poly with period hop up gear (and there was plenty around at one time) with matching 727 to make a nice sooth cruiser.

    infantile doodling after a stiff G & T, which naturally, as ML mentioned also, stands for Beefeater and Turtle Wax. Between being in awe about the stainless repairs and how to fix a Volvo with 3 well aimed bangs, no words for it ,plus I haven't had this much fun since Oma died.

    I feel, every original factory part you massage back to quite usable conditions is a plus for the overall appearance of this beautifully shaped car and you're one fine metal shaping master. As much aftermarket parts you can avoid, the better. Also, you have videos of all of it to boot. I love this channel .

    The 1952 Desoto Adventurer concept was Virgil Exner's daily driver for several years. His son Virgil Jr. used to drag race it on Woodward Blvd and said it cleaned up. He confirmed that it was destroyed. My favorite of the first series of Ghia-built Chrysler concepts.

    I always look forward to Saturday night with the coldwarmotors gang,and this one was a great episode. Saving that chrome is a great skill Scott, as is forming those repair panels for the van. If I lived nearby we could use a combination of your equipment and mine to do some fine work together.

    A true Genius at work "that, is some professional trim repair I have never seen anyone make such a great repair to stainless damaged trim I've got one that goes on a Suzuki GT250 seat that had damage I spent about three hours on it and it doesn't look that good but after watching you fix yours its spurred me on to have another go at it. Hell of a job Scott looking forward to watching you do the rest of it now ;) Btw if you're wondering where my last post went to I went to edit it and hit delete by mistake couldn't be bothered typing all that out again but I'm still here. There's just no end to your skills Scott I've really enjoyed watching you resurrect this old girl she's come a long way in what seems to be a very short time. You've put your heart and soul into her and 'MAN it shows' to see this particular Pheonix rise from her years of decay has been nothing short of amazing she no longer lies forgotten lost to the eyes of time and those of man her years of torturess restless sleep have come to an end life once again registers within her 'her heart beats with a newfound vigor and ahead .. good times new memories and the open road ;) .... To Much??

    Really nice job getting the dents out of that stainless trim piece Scott. I guess with time and perseverance you can do anything you set your mind to. The multiple bends to repair that rusted out piece I think 90% of the people looking at that would say it can't be done and I won't waste my time but you tackle it. Great work thanks for sharing.

    Another fine video. It amazing how you can build panels, seeing the different angles in rusted out piece's and build it! The lite dent job on the Volvo . Just light taps with the hammer. 1 1/2 2 hours of work, looks like nothing happened to the car. Kool!
    Book review was fantastic!
