So every character has their own ending, and whose you get depends on who got the last hit on Sigma.
X's and Axl's both involve X being a stick in the mud and not wanting Axl to be a Hunter. And frankly, sometimes I just want to smack him upside the head for that.
Zero's ending has him dream about X constantly spouting "Eliminate the Mavericks" and blasting him with the charge shot. Could this possibly be something to come in the future?
Yes. It pretty much does, only replace X there with Copy X from the Zero series, and replay Zero getting hit with a charge shot with Copy X being utterly beaten. __

X in megaman x7 is far too arrogant & he is easier to get angry. X in megaman x7 is the worst x ever.

X in this game reminds me of Copy X in MMZ1 which is funny cuz one of this games ending preludes that LOL
They attempted to expand his characters beside his pacifism due to prior limited hardware not allowed to flesh out his characters, so his character isn't consistent until X8 onward.

Ee Kwang why did they do that to him? Sure X did not like to fight but in X6 he knew what he had to do. Hell even X2 X was serious and he become the leader of the 17th unit and became a special A rank leader.
@Marcus Mayo X didn’t become a Special Class A hunter until Command Mission. All 3 of them were at that point. Yeah X may have been more serious when he became the leader of the 17th unit but there was a reason that he was a Class B hunter all of that time. Even as a leader he was still hesitant when it came to tough calls and was hesitant to fight especially those that he knew including Sigma at one point whereas Axl doesn’t have that issue and Zero damn sure doesn’t have that problem aside from Colonel and Iris.
Let's not forget that the constant battling X has been in during the Maverick conflicts has taken a toll on him. So his stance changed in Mega Man X7. Still What X said, had flaws in his statements. Zero didn't exactly needed to have those ideals to do what he does, he just goes out and does it, no hesitation. And while Axl is a rookie, it's only because he was wandering about until Red took him in. He's like an innocent boy, trying to find his purpose out there, until Red gave him one. And Mega Man X is not like his predecessor either. I'm referring to the Original Mega Man before his time. Going back to Axl, all he needs to do is be trained, X is making this a bit far-fetched with qualifications to be a hunter, when Axl at least has some experience to start off, the only reason Axl got ragged on a bit is because he was associated with Hunters who did things that caused collateral damaged more so than the Maverick Hunters. But Axl sure as heck didn't know that far ahead, he was indebted to Red for picking him up that day.
Jezz... In X8, he wasn't like that.
X always had kinda of pacifists tendencies, in X4-6 he was the only one with dialogues where he ordered tha mavericks to surrender peacefully, even though that was obviously pointless everytime, it showed that trait of his personality which is interesting. but in this game they did very poor writing by trying to explore a plot where X just got tired of this so called "bloodshed" and retired, im pretty sure it would have been possible to make it interesting, but this game is obviously rushed and they probably ran out of budget or something in the attempt of porting the X series to the "3D era".

X could have been that figure Zero was to him but for Axl, pushing him onward, helping him and making him stronger

That’s because X feels Axl’s missing the point of being a maverick Hunter. Violence should only be a last resort, never a first impulse.

I think I understand what they were trying to go. They were probably trying to make him say that axl's method was too harsh and fighting should only be used as a last resort. The script is just horrible.
And they were also probably trying to make him say that the type of hunter he is was something to be learnt through harsh experience and not something gained through training. Horrible script

Yeah, Powered Up is fun, Maverick Hunter X is great. I haven't played the PSP remakes of the Legends games, but they're probably cool. Are there more that I'm forgetting?

Jared jokes aside, X is WAY too much of a whiner in this game. Yeah he never liked fighting, but he knew he had to and that it was right to solve conflicts. Here, it's just "We can't fight, it's wrong to, all it'll do is make things worse!"

Even though I don't mind the story, I agree. I get that they're trying to show X's character but yeesh, no need to go that far.
Robbie Belgrade's Signas sounds very good in the ending scenes. A shame most people judge his take on the character by the sub-par deliveries of the introductory scenes. As for the others, sure, Axl can be a little squeaky, but he's a reckless youngster who hasn't fully matured at this stage, so it works. X may be a pacifist here, but he's too soft spoken in a lot of deliveries, but the voice suits him. Zero, despite my enjoyment of Lucas Gilbertson's take, sounds great and more akin to his Japanese voice. He's hardened and not amused at this time, ready to get things done. Overall, too many people crap on the VA of this game, but it's not that bad. Heck, all the Mavericks are very memorable and well-voiced, I think.

Axl voice is garbage. I prefer x8 voice for a lot. Just watching this cutscene gave me aids. I have never played this game and I think I won't ever play it. Not even in the upcoming collection although I'll get the second one because I loved x8.

Fun Fact: In X7, Signas is voiced by Robert Belgrade (the original English voice of Alucard in Symphony of the Night). Shame that this game has some absolutely horrendous voice acting. I love Belgrade's voice, but damn does he not try very hard here.
This game just had a really shitty VA direction all around, Mega Man ZX Advent too since the English VA is mostly the same from MMX7
Zero's dream seems to reveal more than just Copy X... But also how the original X was also starting to lose it, as evidenced in X7 itself...
Kinda funny writing, though, it's quite bad, made worse by the localization and English voice acting.
I love the Zero series so Zero's ending is the only one that doesn't suck Mega balls to me. Going with that one if I ever play the game again (marathoning the Mega Man series now so I guess I have to...)

I think when Zero has the nightmare about being a maverick, it is because he was created by Wily and because Sigma tried to use him.

@@rafaelvieira5364 I think Zero's ending in X7 is a parallel on the original plans for the first Zero game, where the real X was planned to be the main antagonist, instead of Copy X.
Since X5 was meant to be the last game on X series, and if we also take X's bad ending in X5 where he loses all of his memories about Zero into question, X would slowly regress into a sociopathic mindset where he'd terminate the reploids for the possibilities of being Mavericks, like how it is portrayed in the dream sequence.
And thus, he'd create Neo Arcadia as a heaven for the reploids who serves under him, and Zero would side with the resistance.
Megaman x7 is the first megaman who is the primary character is not x but axl.
