- Today we went to find an apartment here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. You can get some really cheap apartments for as low as 5,000 baht and it is all up from there.
The Nimman area is the most popular area for expats and digital nomads with it's low cost of living, fast wifi and hundreds of cafes and co-working spaces.

For 5,000, you can rent two of them and use one as you home and one as your office :)
Great idea. The 'office' one can store suitcases etc that would just get in the way.

I'd say if you want to pay over $300 you should get a house. do you really want to pay $500 and live in the same room as your bed?

Because you and Scotty think like I do - and you do - I am 100 % certain you went for either "Pansook 2" or the last "Dome" (#4) one - why? Because I had an immidiate feeling that was, cool, and value for money - but balcony and view is so important - and bathroom too - spaciness, airiness - who cares about fitness - maybe pool beacuse in CM and no beach - but there you go - what did I win, what did I win.....?....huh......huh....?.......:-)........tell me......
we had such a problem finding apartments in chiang mai for monthly rentals but what time of the year did you go?
you know this is my 2nd or 3rd watching this video. since nov 2016 There are soo many choices to choose from in chiang mai its truly overwhelming. i'm still in America so i don't have to pick anything until Oct. i do know what you picked of course. i literally just emailed them and asked them to tell me the speed of their internet. because i shoot everything in 4k. now a days. So i need really fast internet

GREAT VIDEO! On the paper it shows of 4,000 / 5,000 / 5,500. You show the price at number 1 at 13,000. with you saying you like your own space or words to that effect, why not go for 2 studio apartments. Why pay 13,000 for a kitchen. Do you really want to cook??? (I understand it is cheaper to eat out) Am I right? Anyway, it was a great video, keep the good work up. Cheers

Haha that yellow "Room for Rent" sign in this video fooled me earlier this month when I stopped in asking about monthly rental options. They all looked at me like I was crazy and said "No no no we only rent for one or two nights". Not what "for rent" means!
what was the noise level like? just wondering if with all the backpackers etc... they end up being a lot of late night parties through paper thin walls going on in some of these condos?? Looking at coming over a for a year to decide on if retiring in Thailand is for us.
Prices can vary at the Dome / season. I never paid more than 10k THB including the electricity.
Any price quoted has wiggle room. Wouldn't surprise me if they only showed those price cards to fallangs.
What is the going rate for ST and LT from freelancers on the main bar area? Just curious on pricing compared to Pattaya or BKK.

hey psycho, wondering what you did about your visa sitch in thailand. What method did you go about extending your initial 30-day? did you see it as a viable long-term solution? I, like other viewers, am enchanted by the low cost of living, but i almost got myself an apartment forgetting to take care of one of the most important aspects of living there. I would appreciate the help. Travel on!
