BKC 10.5 foot Pro Single Pedal Kayak First Thoughts!

- So I recently purchased the BKC pedal kayak for ~$1300 and thought I'd give my first thoughts on it. It comes with almost all the features of a $2000+ pedal kayak, but at a much lower cost. While this does mean there are some trade offs as you'll see, it is a fantastic kayak for the price. Hope you enjoy!

Awesome video man, glad you're like our new and improved 10.5 Pro!
Thanks! Have loved both kayaks I have purchased from you!
Awesome review. Can you do one showing the design of the bottom?
I can when I have some time, but until then you should be able to see the bottom on BKC website. It is rather flat (for balance) with a large front keel to break waves and cut through the water. The back has 3 fins to help the water flow evenly out the back allowing for better turning with the rudder and less drag.
@@fishingwitht-ravis9618 I might be the only person who don't see the bottom on their site lol. I really like the old pk11 "W" bottom (similar to Hobie's).
@tdok I also don't see it now, but they did have it at one point. Look up the old town sportsman 106, it's similar except with a shallower dip in the middle and extra fins on the edges on the back.
Do you get to pick which drive system you want with it? I saw on the website it had the propeller drive but didn’t see an option for the flipper drive which I am wanting.
It should have that option available if not you can send an email to their customer service after ordering and they will ammend your order for you!
Which model did you get? The 10.5’ model listed on brooklyn’s website shows a propeller drive instead of the flipper style like you have. Or does it come with both propulsion types?
They should have the choice between the propeller, flipper, or a trolling motor! You can purchase the others separately.
Have you had issues with compatability with the track system? Ive read bad things about that. People say they cant find accesories that will fit it
I have not. I bought a camera mount for a go pro, screwed right in, locked, and works fine! All you need is something to screw into that when tight will not come out of rail (comes with 2 metal pieces for this, need to add others for more mounting).
Does this have a spot for a transducer recessed into the hull on the bottom?
I do not believe there is a spot for that specific purpose, but there are many scupper plugs and room where the pedal drive goes that could probably be used.
I love the design but too heavy for me to put on a kayak rack! Wishing I was fishing! 😎👍{Tim ♥️✝️
Always wishing I was fishing! Also, you could try putting the front end against the car on a rag then lifting the back to slide it into the rack, just a thought!
@@fishingwitht-ravis9618 I did some thinking on what you suggested; I believe that if I use a fully wet shammy as the contact slider from the backside of our Prius, I may be able to manage to get up on top of our car! Big bites, full baskets and God’s blessing to you!

Hope it works! I've seen it done on a few TH-cam vids before!
Does it have reverse?
The propeller drive one does, the flipper drive does not! You have to either turn with the rudder or use the paddle to reverse with the flipper drive!
What is the ratio on the gear drive
I honestly don't know and couldn't find anything online, sorry :(
