    Isn't that chirp considered flutter? I've been trying to dial it out with no dice.

    I have this valve...that chirp sound is much louder with an open element intake.

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JPGC2011 yeah we have a more open intake on our Focus and the valve is much louder for sure.

    Once it is installed can you un install it with all the original parts? Like you don't need to get a new cable, that you clipped that thing on when you take it all off?

    • @rallysportdirect

      you bet, you can easily revert the car back to stock with no issues :)

    Question for ya Rick.
    Other than price, what's the difference between the turbosmart bov from CJ, and montune? Looks the exact same, but a world of difference in price.... for me at least!

    The fiesta st does not regulate air coming back into the intake. You can run fully atmospheric without running rich

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does, the stock borg warner turbo has a by pass valve built in that returns air back into the intake. Anytime you release that air to the atmosphere, the MAF sensor does not know this and will cause a rich condition between shifts.
      Thanks,
      Rick

      RallySport Direct USDM fiesta st runs MAP not MAF

    • @ohmygoditsyomamma
      @ohmygoditsyomamma 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      RallySport Direct the recirc valve vents to atmosphere no matter what. Just comes out the air filter

    • @TacticsGCH
      @TacticsGCH 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Doom guy. The USDM FiST has 1 MAP sensor on the intake manifold and 1 MAF sensor on the intake tube just after the air filter box. It has both.

    Bill from CJ Pony parts said you shouldn’t have the “chirping” or flutter at Idle. That’s no bueno

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I misspoke in this video. When I said at idle, I mean to rev it from idle in neutral. But just to make things clear, Bill says to rev it in neutral it and listen to it, you should hear it working. What we don't want and he mentions as well, is that you don't want it to flutter at idle. If you have zero throttle input and you hear it fluttering, something is wrong with the seal/gasket or the valve itself.
      Thanks,
      Rick

    So does this Bov run richer being at 50/50 ? Than the recirculating plumb back one?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Under low boost, it will be almost 100% recirculating, however under higher boost it will vent to the atmosphere and it will be slightly richer between shifts than fully recirculating. However being 50/50 it should not cause any issues when you let off the go-fast pedal.
      Thanks,
      Rick

    Does it still flutter with everything else on the car stock(

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll get a bit of flutter but the noise from the valve will be louder with an aftermarket intake.

    can i put it 100% recirculation? why turn in soft or hard position? more pshhh in harder?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the way the valve is designed it has to be run in dual port mode. The adjustments will only need to be made if there is a change in engine vacuum such as larger cams, different pistons etc..
      Thanks,
      Rick

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Rafael Garcia The video does not do justice to the sound, but I will admit, it is far from a loud valve.

    • @mr2wheels684
      @mr2wheels684 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RallySport Direct you guys should know that the fiST is MAP based and not MAF based as you stated in this video. The MAF is only there for IAT (intake air temp) so you can run full atmospheric on these cars and not run rich... in fact the fiST has a MAP, MAF and TMAP

    Too many fiddly bits to get it installed. Better off with the Boomba BOV spacer. It doesn't require as many non-easily-reversible changes, and I don't see where this gives you anything but a complicated way to make more noise.

    • @justinbiebs2617
      @justinbiebs2617 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      What are you talking about? Every single mod you make with this BOV is completely and easily reversible. After doing mine, I can easily do it again in maybe 30minutes. Probably even less if I have a couple beers first.
      Not only that, but the Boomba version is not adjustable. Turbosmart version is adjustable and you can dial in exactly how you want... more recirc, more blow off, 100% blowoff or 100% recirc.
      This mod is a no-brainer tbh.
