A good little tent , i think the 2 holes in the tabs on each corner are so you can use the inner hole if you want to stress the poles a bit more or either one hole for poles and one hole for pegs if wanting to pin it down , try putting the groundsheet hooks around the tip of the poles after you have put them through the tab , by doing that it should stretch the groundsheet a bit more too

I like that inflatable airmattress. I went camping and put my single swag inside my tent. Worked well and was comfortable but did take up a lot of space on the back of the bike.

The unknown silver bit is a pole repair piece. Also the ground sheet or footprint probably hooks onto the poles not the strappy bit. Good review Mark !!

I used a similar size tent (Although much more economy class. No bells or whistles) like that on my western Canada trip. It was a 3 week trip. My first night setting it up I was like Ooooh Sh*t I have to live in this for 3 weeks??? I didn't think it or me would last. Fortunately I didn't encounter night rain. But for a easy quick set up and just sleeping. It did the job. The next year's trip when I upgraded from a similar self inflating mat to a cot. I had the same issue. The cot was just a inch too long. So on the 2 week trip to Eastern Canada I went back to my 20 year old 3 man bulky domey.

I'm sorely tempted mate, looks great! One tip for any tent with zips is to add a ring the the zipper (eg the rings you get for keyrings). Makes it easy to find and pull, and can just stay and live on the tent, no worries.

especially in bad weather things can get a little tense 😂 (sorry about that) but I always feel better once it's up , especially if it's raining at least you got somewhere to keep all your stuff getting soaked and stay dry even if you can't get a fire going straight away 👍

The hooks on the ground sheet most likely attach to the bottom of the the tent pole rather than those holes. Great tent. Got one similar, different brand. Best thing is the set up options, you can set up the ground sheet & water proof fly without the tent part & use a bivy. PS. Mystery small piece is a repair pole sleeve, in case you bend or break the pole. Great review, great tent style.

  • @motohobo

Hmm, doesn't look a bad little tent for minimalist camping. But maybe a little too small for multiple night motorcycle camping trips. Especially for larger blokes. That style of peg is also better in softer ground and sand. The tube will be for pole repairs. Look forward to seeing what the other tents are like. Cheers

Early morning coffee and Biker Bits. Way to start the day. Look forward to seeing you use it on a trip. Enjoy your channel very much here in the USA and have used it to do bits and pieces to my DR650 which I will be taking on the TAT (5000+miles) this July. Good one man tent at good price but I like my two-man Mountain Smith. The two grommet holes are to adjust the tension more or less on the tent poles as needed due to atmospheric conditions. Keep on keeping on!

  • @mosfear

Sorry, too small for me Mark, but a couple of observations: 1/ Forget being able to switch ends. Better to place your bag so the zip is on the same side as the door, especially in a one-man tent. 2/ Even if the Helinox fitted, I reckon you'd still risk damaging the tent material where the tent ends start to taper in due to the design because the cot frame corners are a few inches off the deck. 3/ That tent design leaves a flat top, so hopefully the rain water that pools there can't soak through any of the seams. I think I'll stick with my tipi style MegaHorn II (although I don't know if you can get them down under), or at the pricepoint you're looking at, a Paria Mesh tent (680gm) with a tarp in case of bad weather.
. Always entertaining to watch your vids though, so thanks for posting.

Never gave it much thought before now, but I'm glad that I chose a tent that has its entry/exit point at one end (not the side).

Oh mate. I love the idea of those clips! Those bloody toggles are such a pain in the dark and the lower clips save on doubling up with pegs.
To me it looks like the groundsheet clips should stretch out and clip onto the poles?
I love the length of it as my K-Mart special I have to lie diagonal with my bike gear all around me. Plus my cheapy leaks when it pisses down.
Although I like to keep my gear in the tent with me, having that vestibule area would be OK. I like the simplicity of the design with the one pole setup as well as the size as it looks like it would fit in my soft side bags nicely. Whereas my current one doesn't. Hmm.

😔I can't get the website to come up on my computer I get the dreaded 404.
Does look like a nice spot for a cuppa and some jammy dodgers.
Thermos' are awesome I got the 2 litre as well, when I was on the road a lot whatever restaurant-cafe-coffee shop I had breakfast at I would get my Thermos filled up with coffee and I would drink it later, so we both know the joy of stopping for break and a cup of coffee.
Coffee is definitely one of life's simple pleasure, I prefer my coffee just plain nothing in it, I don't really get into the fancy coffee drinks anymore lately I've just been simplifying my life and enjoying it more, even sold a lot of camera gear and lenses, just down to two bodies and two lenses.
Just like that tent you got there simple and does the job, less mucking about the better.
    Cheers.

    What a brilliant little Tent!
no good for me, like Alistair it would be to tight on the shoulders. In fact minimum width for my sleeping bag is 120cm at the shoulders to be comfortable. its a nightmare finding lightweight kit and have resorted to tarp tents on the bike for over nighter's or a couple of nights just to keep it K.I.S.S.
If I'm touring I have a small 3 man tent that is 3.5kg which provides a level of comfort and allows keeping my kit in the dry if its tipping it down. which here in the UK can be a problem for a morning pack up as everything is dripping wet from rain or dew and needs the sun before packing up.
    Regards HarryB

Good video Mark, as usual. My concern would be that with the fly clipping onto the rest of the tent, there is very little space in between the two. Means in the event of rain it might leak faster where they touch? I have the Oztrail Hiker 3 tent 3.5 kg (I like my space), and the fly pegs 3-4 inches away from the tent underneath, which I like better.
