  • This video shows my tent that I use for motorcycle camping. You will see me setup the tent out in the bush and give you a guided tour of it with all my gear in it. There is also footage of me trying to find my motorcycle jacket that fell of the back of the bike in the bush. LOL
    I now sell this tent:

Picked one up for $40 at a thrift store, spotless. Best tent ever.
I place the tent on a groundsheet that also protrudes on one side where i cook and take off my boots etc...
    Great video...

this is the first time I came across Mark so many years ago, carpal tunnel surgery in 2012 so I was riding the desk at home not the bike and looking for a swag but this video changed my mind. Still fun to watch

When you put your boots outside your tent, don't forget to put your socks over the top. Stops all sorts of nasties getting in your boots. If you live in Australia, you will know what I mean. Great videos mate. Look forward to more.

G'Day mate, thanks and I'm glad you found it informative. Great to hear you're getting your first motorbike and I think you'll love the difference of camping with a motorcycle. I don't believe the brand or type of tent makes a huge difference these days, it's more what or which one suits YOU the best. Cheers... Mark

It's good to see a fellow bike rider hiting the open roads camping, My wife and I go camping aswell, we have a little trailer we tow behind our 88 Sporty 1988. We have the same brand tent, 3man tent. Brilliant to put up. We keep to light weight camping. Maybe we will see you on the open roads mate.

Nice video. Motorcycle tent camping is one of our favorite things to do on a weekend. We just load up the sportster and take off for the hills and lakes. You have a great idea of putting everything in one bag, great info!

G'day mate, I've never been caught in really bad weather like windy with heavy rain, but have had it in normal and light rain. Never got any water come through into the tent. The only down fall is if your putting the tent up in rain, you will get some rain in the tent until you put the fly cover over. Cheers... Mark

Riding the outback has to be a heck of a lot of fun. Here in the states there would be a convenience store on the corner where you lost your jacket and the roads would all be paved. Your ride looks much funner.

MC camping CAN be expensive, with the super decadent luggage bags etc. But it doesn't have to be!
I line used military style duffel bags with those thick, black contractor bags. Roll ends up and tie to waterproof it.
Standard coleman 3-4 man tent. For 2 people you want at least a 4 man tent, you will need room to keep all your gear at night.
Rest is just a matter of packing so pack stuff for travel.
My wife and I spent less than 6 grand for both of our Honda cruisers, and do one or two 1400mi camping trips a year. Complete blast and the trip doesn't cost us much at all.

Great video mate lot of tips that i may be able to use over here. Good to see how other bikers do in other countries around the world. My 20 year old bike will get some abuse this coming year. Cheers for the video and safe riding and best of british luck to you

Great video... I like that tent. I'm 6'3" tall, and my partner is 5'9". We'd both fit in that tent. Gotta get one. Right now we use a Coleman 7x7 dome tent. It's real nice. We can sit up and get our knees with ease, but a smaller tent like this one wold be great for a few nights while on the road... Again, thanks for the video... You would be a hoot to go camping with. :)

What a Bugger! Must have been the Asian version of 6 foot :-) I had a similar issue with the tent that I had before this one. It was 6 foot long but when you count in the factor of the walls slopping inwards you need it to be longer than you are tall. Bugger my lesson learnt! In your case you did the right thing and still you got done :-) Cheers... Mark

Very informative bit of info there Mark (along with the video outlining all the camping gear you use). I've camped many times since I was a kid, and I rather enjoy 'roughing it' in a tent, though I use a bigger three person tent when I take my truck. I'll be purchasing my first bike in the Spring and may do some motorcycle camping. I don't think I've seen your brand of tent here in the States, but I'm sure I can find something similar.

Hey great video again. I use a vango force 10 single pole tent. Very similar to your design, but the fly sheets clipped to inner tent so you can pitch it in one. Im from scotland and thats important since it pisses with rain a lot haha. It makes setting up and taking down easier and quicker though. Maybe a feature to look for for the rainy season .

If you are in somewhat isolated place like in the woods or in the desert and a plane or helicopter appears in a few minutes and flies over or near to you they are checking you out. Either you are close to a military base or a covert base above ground or underground.

+nythawk night Maybe elsewhere in the world, but not here in Australia. Our military bases seem to advertise where they are. Although, it is possible they were doing field training and he was close by.

I've seen great video's of guys ridding up in some mountains or hills on dirt bikes & you get models that I like that in the U.S. we can't get.
