Honestly, if I was Nanahoshi I'd draw a circle to summon a gun and some ammo just for defense purposes. It wouldn't work on Eris level threats but stone cannon works on most normal people and it would allow her to protect herself if using her shield rings.

There are Stone Cannon wands in the setting, and one can fuel them with magic stones. Most Beginner-tier spells have wands for them and they're good backup weapons. They don't take much mana, they're insta-use, and handy to keep. But they're not too powerful in comparison to an actual magician chanting a spell.
The item she summoned was supposed to be "simple, inorganic/inanimate, small, of uniform material." A gun is several complex components of various materials and you need cartridges to make it work.

@@Tounushithe main reason she chose the water bottle is that she wanted proof that it was an item not from this world and most likely from Earth, but yes, it did also need to be simple.
