- I rode the SkyCar open-top bus & AquaBus boat in Cardiff! Whilst being down in my favourite place, I tried out 2 different modes of transport to get me between the city centre and the bay. Oh and.. have I ever mentioned how much I love Cardiff?! :p

A wonderful travelog of the wonderful city of Cardiff your sheer enjoyment is apparent during the whole trip.
As someone who was fortunate to visit this city many times I understand your appreciation for this capital.
Stood by the water tower, stood on the step and looked at the coffee bags on the wall.

That Touchwood step your stood on was actually one of the edge stones from the lock that allowed boats out the basin and in Bute West dock. Yes the Next Bikes went because of vandalism, we are all gutted. Great videos of the Bay. Hope you will be back again soon.
Lovely video of Cardiff, all the better for the sunshine. I lived there briefly a long time ago and still have friends there. Unfortunately they tend to come to see me so I don't get to see the old city much. Many thanks, cheered me up no end, the bay is looking gorgeous these days! Your enthusiasm in your videos is a real tonic.

I was in Cardiff back in February and did visit Ianto Shrine which was nice to see but from being at the Bay itself, you can understand why Cardiff is beautiful, Might have to give AquaBus a try myself one day. Great video

Fantastic cardiff your favourite place G, I agree it's a great visit at anytime, I used to stay in a bungalow at southerndown along the coast abit and where they filmed alot of doctor who in dunraven Bay but I'm sure u knew that anyway great blog as ever G 👍 🙂

Open top bus great way to travel by the seaside did it all when we were in Rhyl and the area around but that was years ago but great memories thanks for the video it was lovely 👍👍✅✅
I drove an open top bus around Cardiff in 1994, a wonderful experience plus I met lots of lovely people from all over the world.

I've always been fond of Cardiff too - which for me was a frequent day trip destination when I lived in Bristol during the 1980s & early 90s. it was quite a different place back then of course, when they were only just assessing the feasibility of a tidal barge and redeveloping the old docklands; and the curiously red-bricked Pierhead Building used to stand there, pretty much all alone! It has only been since the 1990's that Cardiff Bay station has consisted of a short, single patform right at the end of the line, incidentally! Known as Cardiff Bute Road station; it previously had a lengthy island platform with tracks on both sides - and I think there had also been a third platform face before that... The original station building stood, but was largely boarded-up; while in practice, only one platform face ever saw much use, with the other quietly rusting away.
Those Scaina buses have cubby fronts which makes them look charming and friendly in my view.
I donloke an open top bus, luckily we had a few routes around Portland and Weymouth this summer and all part of the £2 deal, 2.5hrs on an open topper is different (Weymouth to Swanage).
I did all routes multiple times plus the Purbeck breezer on the Sandbanks ferry (which i even did in November last year, outside throughout!), good times.

I do remember going on an open bus many years ago. I think it was either in York or Scarborough but definitely interesting when you've got the air blowing in your face! 😂

Brilliant video G, I've never done an open top bus before, it's tempting for me to try the Aqua bus sometime. The Cardiff bay is beautiful indeed. The boat ride does look fun as well. :)

After travelling behind Pendennis Castle earlier this year, part of me quite likes the idea of visiting the actual castles that the locos were named after in order. Fortunately the first three - Caerphilly, Caldicot and Cardiff - are close enough to make a short break of it!

Love an open top bus ride, me!
The first one I rode was an East Kent 69 from Broadstairs-Margate when I was around 3 back in 1970!
More recently, over the past fortnight, I've been riding them in Scarborough! Best way to get a sea breeze!
Can imagine that would be very breezy!
i really enjoyed watching this im loving the open top bus which looks amazing & Cardiff Bay looks amazing as always & i visited Cardiff bay while i was on a day trip to Cardiff last year when i was holidaying in South Wales & i love the area & i also went on the Wheel myself & the views are amazing & i missed that you can spin the cart round when i was on the wheele but ill have to try it out if i visit Cardiff again in the future & the boat looks amazing awesome vlog as always

I do miss the Doctor Who Experience. So many great times visiting it over the years and even got to go on the TARDIS set at the nearby Roath Lock Studios several times.
The missing ship you mention went a good while ago now. It was the Lightship 2000. I recorded a podcast on there back in 2012.
Lots of good memories of the Cardiff Bay area. Such a shame that most the of the things drawing me there have now gone. I miss Eddie's Diner.

Sounds like you were in Cardiff a couple of weeks after me... its probably one of my favourite places to visit. I still need to plan, and arrange, visiting all 20 (or 21) stations in a single trip plus filming them all...

I was in Cardiff back in July for a concert at the castle. I was only there for one night and didn't have time to visit the bay sadly. From what I did see, it is a nice city.
Brilliant "G" What a way to spend a day. There must be loads more to do in Cardiff. I've been there many times but always through work so never had the time or the energy to explore, now I'm retired I must review my to do list of places to go and things to see and after your video I think Cardiff will go up a few places. 🤔👍.

Have you heard about Morebus route 50? It runs between Bournemouth and Swanage. It's claim to fame is the fact that the bus uses the Sandbanks Ferry along the route. It doesn't serve the ferry, it travels aboard it fully loaded with passengers. So each passenger's fare entitles them to two modes of transport at the same time. That would make a wicked-awesome video if you're ever in that area. I really like how you point out Vegan eats during your travels. I've been a Vegan since 1998. Veg-On my friend!!

This is why I would like to go to Cardiff. I have heard that Cardiff as the capital city of Wales is a very interesting city and there’s lots of things to do in Cardiff. I also would like to go to Swansea as well.

Only ever been on an open-top bus once myself, over in Belfast, and it was a great experience. Did you send a few cheeky pics of the trip on it and make a certain person jealous in the end? That boat trip looked brilliant - and you're making me want to visit Cardiff now!

have been to cardif once and it were fun even if it was on a birthday and i met a friend from there for open tops you should try york theres transdev or golden tours york blue and white buses both i think are about an hour transdev does 1 or 2 exstra stops golden tours dont but do get some humor from the drivers via live guide usally

I was surprised with the bus ride, Cardiff looked attractive to visit. I was there in 2018, visited castle and parts of the city centre. Did the bus trip take long, with the 20mph restrictions it certainly can't be an express service?
