Unfortunately he is not. He had a fentanyl patch, which is pretty much heroin. That dulls all the nerves, making you not feel any spicy food.
Dax is an A+ man. I've never gone from not really knowing about an actor, to wanting to be his friend so quickly.
It's the magic of this show.
The whole episode is great but Sean‘s expression at 17:42 is worth the price of admission, all by itself. A unique moment in Hot Ones history.

dax looks like such a good guy to interview!! he just goes along with every question, every hot sauce, complete professional while being entertaining and charming. plus im always impressed by the way he speaks about his wife and family. he seems like such a genuinely good guy who could sit down and have a beer with anyone and have a good time

Just discovered this show last week and I am floored over how good it is. First time I wasnt pissed off by an ad interrupting the video, I'm just glad these guys are getting paid. Also glad there's 9 whole seasons I get to catch up on! This is a whole level of interviewing I've never seen. Stalker-level research, you have an interview style that gets them talking and very casually.

I eat these hot sauces all the time and the heat is not linear, a 2M scoville sauce is not going to be 4 imes hotter than a 550k scoville sauce. He would sail through the new sauces too.

He did so good, at the start of the vid they usually show people reacting to hot sauces but they didn't have any reactions to show so they had to show a reaction that was completely unrelated to the hot sauce. It was about the math classes. WOW that was insane, he has to come back!

Recently had the entire Blair's range and can honestly say, mega deaths and ultra death aren't anything special. Found that the After Death and Sudden death were a lot worse, even though they had a lower Scoville rating (50-100,000)

I don't know much about dealing with actors, but from what I understand they have very tenuous schedules. They are constantly late, or held up. I wouldn't be surprised if they are only given a large window of time that the interviewee can arrive in.
@Billy is correct. Most likely soundstage they are shooting in doesn't have cooking facilities or multi-part greenroom. A PA picks them up prior shooting, then yes scheduling could totally be responsible for the wings sitting out.
However, a crock-pot is cheap. And I am capable of keeping my craftservices warm on location, so there isn't much of an excuse for shooting in a proper studio space.
Hell, WTF people... they're "Deep Fried" wings... you telling me they don't have it in their budget to by a F'n deep fryer? Heck, it'll save them money 'cause the wings won't cost as much! BAM, it's in the Fucking Budget!
