This has to be one of the best catch and release videos that I've seen. The way you brought that fish in, kept it in the water and treated it with respect and care... just awesome. The underwater footage of the bass swimming away was great also.
40-50 years ago it wasn’t uncommon to catch stripers that big in the San Joaquin Delta but today if you get anything over 25 pounds it’s considered a monster. Your catch and release is commendable and I wish more California anglers practiced doing so.
Oh man, you must of had some epic nights! What a stretch of coastline that is. This past summer I had two really good nights in that area. It's a special place for surfcasting, that is for sure. Tight lines! 🎣
Glad you liked the video! I was wearing a Go Pro with a mic on my head. Yes they are good eating, however right now the big ones must be released. Only one striper per trip between 28-35 inches can be kept for consumption in Massachusetts. I'd prefer to eat a 28 incher over a really big fish anyways.
What size rod were you using back in this video? I got 10ft st.croix and when I put some power into the cast I get no distance, it just tumbles Sweet video thanks!
been down at the canal all day an caught a few schoolies. But i’m waiting for tonight to hopefully get on some big boys like that any good tips or times??
In this video I was using a Lamiglas 9ft rod rated for 1-3 oz lures. I ended up eventually breaking that rod, and now I'm using a 9' ODM Genesis NXG-93 1/2-3oz rod
Shining light on the water at night like that will spook the fish bad. It will run them out of the area and put them down. Dont turn on your lights unless you absolutely have to and make sure youre facing away from the water when you do it.
There's lots of places on Cape Cod where big bass come in shallow, especially at night. Many of the popular beaches are good places to catch a big bass once the sun goes down. 🐟
I've surf casted Nauset beach, and the bay in Brewster since I was a toddler. I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I never pull out big lunkers.
The Outer Cape beaches and the canal have been producing some fish lately. Blurple Joe Baggs Swarters have been working pretty well at night. There's also a lot of helpful info and community available over at myfishingcapecod.com in case you're interested. Good luck with your trip! I hope you have a great time.
I've heard that holding bass in a vertical position can do damage to their internal organs, but that is just a rumor and I don't have any scientific proof
I love your channel and all your videos. How can I get you to take me striper fishing with you!? It's a dream of mine to land beasts like these ones! Can you please help me!? I'm from NH and am dying to hook some monsters.

@@MyFishingCapeCod okay got you keep doing the amazing work Buddy big fan but I live inland Massachusetts but I get up to Dennis Port for a week or two a year which I'll be doing next week just bought a new pen surf combo and going to go at night but I've only caught a handful of stripers in my life no keepers so far
@@MyFishingCapeCod but freshwater fishing has always been my passion in life so I'm excited to Branch out and learn and master new crafts catch and release always

Roger that. I didn't know striper in the San Joaquin Delta got that big. Good luck out there this year!
We used to fish Nauset Inlet on the inside rip andon the outer surf all night long. I still get goosebumps 50 years later. Thanks for the great video.

That was THE BEST video and treatment of the fish I have ever seen. For me them swimming away is the high. Well well done in every way.

Loved the Video, Remember Fishing off of Oregon Beach, in Cotuit during the wee hrs, of 1am, in 2010, 45 inch monster, catch and release, So Exciting!
Wow, that must of been awesome. If you don't mind me asking, did you catch that 45 incher during the spring, summer or fall?
The quiet before the storm
Great video Ryan! Nice catches 👍🏼
Crazy catch, that's a giant! Well compared to the LMBs I'm used to catching, the stripers look like fun fish. Great video!
They are such a great fish to pursue and catch, I highly recommend it!
Great fish Ryan!!! I met your neighbor, Scott, a couple of weeks ago. Real nice guy. Best of luck in your fishing adventures and the derby!
That's awesome Mark! And yes Scott is a super nice guy
Great fish man.
Great videos!🤙
I’m glad you enjoy them. Thanks for the comment!
Great vid
Thanks for tuning-in Bruce!
Sick footage Thanks for the Stoke...I got a nice 44inch Bass plugging in the surf down here in Jersey this Fall..What'd you guess yours weighed?
Thanks for watching! Congrats on your 44 incher. I’d guess the bass in this video was 34-38lbs
sick video. awsome release
Thanks man!
I love metal lips fishing lures
nice fish!! it would be sweet to see that bend in the rod. maybe some reflective stickers ?
Possibly! Cool idea!
Nice video, Your audio is great are you wearing a mic? Those were some giant fish, are they good to eat or the smaller ones better?
Glad you liked the video! I was wearing a Go Pro with a mic on my head. Yes they are good eating, however right now the big ones must be released. The Fish Whisperer. Just messing with ya. Great vid. Nice fish dude
LOL! I wish I was the fish whisperer!
I like to fish dannys with a single treble or 2 j hooks! Great video
Nice! Thanks for letting me know Aaron about the hooks. Gluck out there this season!
What size rod were you using back in this video? I got 10ft st.croix and when I put some power into the cast I get no distance, it just tumbles
Sweet video thanks!
I was using a 9ft Lamiglas that's rated for 1oz-3oz. LMK if I can answer anything else. ✌🏻
been down at the canal all day an caught a few schoolies. But i’m waiting for tonight to hopefully get on some big boys like that any good tips or times??
Nice! Keep at it. Some of our members from myfishingcapecod.com got bigger bass the past couple nights on eels.
Do you always shine that much light on the water?
No, not always 🐟
“ bad for the fish” I eat fish I don’t care about the health
What’s the name of that lure great video
That is a yellow Danny Plug from the Gibbs lure company
How do I try one of these ?
It’s Labor Day weekend 2024 and I live near the ocean in Mass
Just cast it and out and retrieve at a medium/slow retrieve speed.
Awesome footage! Nice footage, is someone filming you?
Thanks RJ! No it's just me and my Go Pro cameras.

What is your thought on weighing fish via boga grip?
I've heard that holding bass in a vertical position can do damage to their internal organs, but that is just a rumor and I don't have any scientific proof
What rod ?
I don't have that rod anymore (it broke) but it was a Lamiglas Surf Pro 9' rated for 1oz-3oz
Thanks. I just picked up a st. Croix 1/2 to 2 1/2. 9 ft. Have a Tica 8 ft. 1-3 ounce but it was too stiff.
I got the same plug, never used it.
It works!
Charlie Cinto caught his fish on a Goo Goo Eye plug not a danny.
You are correct, thank you John!

I was thinking by the way that fish is fighting its got to be hooked in the head .Nice fish .I love Danny's
Danny Plugs are great, especially for calm water situations. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Have you ever noticed a shark come in to check you out or any sharks in the shallows at night I think I'd be in my head bad
No I have not, but I would not recommend wading along the beaches of the Outer Cape, which is where most of the sharks are.

where abouts where you fishing if you don't mind me asking
