There is nothing of more value than information and laboring under correct knowledge. As a former patrol dog trainer and of handler and of self protection dogs in which I may be turning back to do again I am super impressed by Hans vast knowledge of training of dogs and handlers.
That’s why You have to buy one of Han’s Imported German Shepherd puppies or Dogs - They are smart , loyal and & protective !!! Also , very easy to train cause they are so smart and aim to please !!!
I’m interested in what Hans has to say about playing with dogs and toys and using them as a reward and as a training device. Could we get a podcast on this pleaseee?
@@hans-alpinek9real thank you! I have caught him mention using toys as prey drive reward in the SAR video and also caught him mentioning no toys in obedience but will like to hear more elaboration! I will be buying the protection videos soon after Christmas!
Just wondering if a so-called “warning “ command is ok to redirect the dog. I use “Ne” if I don’t like the response. The “Fuey” is always followed by a correction. It works well for me because my dogs are off leash a lot and they know after “Ne” is “Fuey” . Just wondering
Fuey + reward, yes. Always was taught that redirecting serves two purposes and arguably three. If it’s working for you then bingo. 👍 Reward obviously if you like the response.
Is there room for more discussion on this? If the dog tries to follow the command but is confused..for example, when I point and tell him to go to a place but he goes to a place nearby, THEN can I repeat? He didn't disobey or ignore, he just made a mistake or maybe I made a sloppy direction point.
Perhaps the mistake was your's. With said, you give your dog a correction when he disobeys. Meaning, you have taught the dog what the commands means to the point that it understands what you want. But nevertheless it decides not to obey you. So in my opinion, if your dog is confused that requires more teaching on your part. But not a correction.
No point just being a dum dum with to much time on his hands . I truly respect you and your training abilities as id like to make a career from training dogs just not law enforcement to easy and boring. Id like to rehabilitate difficult dogs and or special handicap service dog as a full time career. Will see" farrell kennels" not very marketable lol
I hear the I'm a mean mom if my kids did anything wrong there was a consequence. I train my dogs the same way you want fun time do as i say til you get it. I'm told I'm just mean until I now have a Neopolitan Mastiff and idiots think him being off leash is dangerous like a leash is really what controls a 165 pound dog not the owner

I’m guilty of repeating commands. Thank you Hans
I hope this episode will help you not to do it 😊

Hans says if you use toys or cookies the dog work that and not for you and with you. @@braddenison6034
What book did you “dust off” at 15:57?
Should the down command be taught with treats or leash pressure, or both?
Leash pressure

Don't reward him and don't correct him. Call him back to you reward him for coming then try the command again

Abuse is discipline without purpose in my opinion
What is your point?
