friend of mine had this exact same bike man that bike could sing if I remember had like a 10 thousand red line I had a Yamaha seca 750 he kept up no problem. and that bike is mint.
Great bikes i own one all original unmolested decal sticker on rear mud guard 13000 original miles full provenance gets many remarks on the road & when static she ain't for sale all the best from the UK.
I'll never sell my 75 cb400. Fully restored, built engine, .50 over pistons, electronic ignition timing & big coil packs. I also have a tricked out 2024 1-off road glide, 2021 aprilia rsv4 factory with GP22 slip on + race tune, ktm super duke and a zx6r. Ive owned a lot of cool bikes but nothing gets nearly as many looks & compliments as the honda - not even close! Puts a smile on my face every time i ride it and beat on that little inline 4 to 10k rpm. With all the uprades ive done, that little honda really moves! 7k rpm is where it really wakes up and goes! Only thing that isnt perfect about the bike is the tach. It moves weird (it works) but it seems kinda laggy and doesnt move smoothly up in the higher rpms. Anyone know what that is?
Had one of those in red with a 4 into one Kerker pipe and a much needed steering damper on it to help with the frame flex handling when pushing it to its cornering limits ! Right after I bought it used with only 500 miles on it in 1979 My good buddy bought a brand new 1979 Yamaha RD-400 and instantly wanted to repeadly kick myself just after a one minute ride 😱 on that RD ROCKET 🚀 loved riding and commuting on that LITTLE CB-400F ! Especially when I occasionally removed the core from that kerker pipe and hearing it scream when up on the pipe and at red lined at 10,000 grand 😊😎👍
Ir is original, paint and all...we have the original bill of sale and the build date on the neck is stamped june of 75 which makes it a 75 usually but your right the title says 76
@@KaplanCycles 'The poor boys muscle bike'. Conceived in '75 granted, but like motocross bikes that have a wheel rim date stamped in them, usually the year earlier than model represents. Anyway these little fours are strikingly smooth.
That was supposed to be my first bike. An 81 GPz550D1 became available first and to this day I’m a Kawasaki head. That said the 400 super sport is still a beautiful little bike.
thanks for this nice video,my question is does it have only one key for ignition gas cap and seat?cause i just bought a barn find the same like yours and it does not have a key...thank you
Bought a 76, same color, from a friend who lost interest in atleast getting it running. Eventually sold it to some guy out of P.A. and he sent it to California to export it to Japan. Still have an extra set of carbs sitting in the garage for it.
Muy buena cheee, cuando un cb 750 f mmm mod 81 y una KZ 750 mod 81 también probar las dos y después KZ 1300 y CB 1047 la próximas,, me llamo Javier saludos desde Argentina,,,
Mine was a nice dark metallic blue with 2 x 2 into 1 pipes. It had 12k on it when I sold it. Sold it to some kid back in the early 90s and he cut the baffles out of the mufflers and it fouled the plugs. He had some dipshit back yard mechanic work on the carbs and he cut the slide springs down for some reason instead of throwing slightly larger jets in the carbs. After that it ended up in our local scrap yard. It's still sitting up there in a trailer, but it is in sad sad shape.
I bought the 76 yellow 400 four ss from a racer from Moss port Ontario Canada 1981. It had a 4 into 1 header that sounded like a 900 kz. I had an H2 750 kawisaki 1972 just before the 400. The H2 was 2 stroke trippl . It was to fast .I t had a 3/4 Rickman faring base exhaust. It didn't have 750 on the side covers so when guys pulled up on Rd 350 Yamaha They wanted to race . I would say let's pull over and sign our ownerships and winner goes home with 2 bikes. Are you crazy ? Your 350 kawisaki can't win .So we rased from one light to the next . The rd 350"s front comes up almost over .Then he goes into 4th gear as I go to second . Im already 5 bike lengths ahead he slams it back into 3rd and keeps getting further' behind . He finally pulls up at the light says what is that ? This is the original widow maker the suicide bike the fastest bike until the KZ 900 KZ 1000 .This is a 72 H2 750 kawisaki . It's 2 of your motor ans 3 xs quicker. I bought it in 78 $1000 cd. I sold it to a friend for $1000 in 80 . Bought the Honda in 80 and loved it better than the h2 . I could go fast enough 115 mph laying accross the tank with feet hanging over the rear turn signals .I went from oshawa to Toronto about 45 miles 30 min got back in just over an hr. I was faster drinking my taxi. It was 76 capris or Impala 350 ci moor 4 barrel carb . I could bury the needle at 125 mph and it was still gaining speed. But the Honda 400 4 was my favorite . I sold it 1992 for $100 and he never got it running right .I bought the 550 four ss and it was a scooter compaired to the 400. It was boring sold it 1 year later .' I would by one 400 four in a heartbeat. I couldn't ride it because I can't walk . Just getting on or off would be terrifying .Maybe put my walker on back or tow my mobility scoter ? I still have to get on and off . Once you pop the clutch your riding . Love the yellow 76.
I had one of those my brother-in-law has it now . almost completely restored with as many original Honda parts as could be. 1975 blue.
does it have only one key for ignition gas cap and seat?thanks
Loved my blue 400 four followed by my metallic crimson 750 F1. Now, nearly 50 years later, drive a Jaguar XK 5 litre V8.
There it is , the 400 4... spent a lot of time on one of those back in high school . Gotta have the kerker pipe man .
friend of mine had this exact same bike man that bike could sing if I remember had like a 10 thousand red line I had a Yamaha seca 750 he kept up no problem. and that bike is mint.
Thanks Captain for what U do Preserve those bikes for next generation It's very important

Tweety Bird is one gorgeous bike! Amazing how great they kept the bike up, and how well they took care of the paper documents.
Bikes in unbelievable condition!
Remember one just like that in the dealer. 12 years old at the time. As a kid ? Loved the header.

Lloyd is a great guy. Remember him at Majestic Honda in the 70s and 80s and his dad too.

It doesn't get better than this.
I raced Cafe with a Red CB 400F back in the 80s
This appears to be a '76 F1 model if the Parakeet Yellow/Black paint is original, one year only model (US and CANADA) had the side panels in black.

In my opinion the cb 400 and the cb550 is a much more handsome machine than the bigger models
Owned a 76 blue 400f with 9505 miles...
A beaut, what a jewel.

Hey, are you interested in selling those carbs?
How many bikes have gotten scratched by the wrist band.
What happened to the microphone toss ??
It became a health and safety liability.
Hi, still for sale? Where are you located, NYC?
my dad had a green one when I was a kid. Hell I'm 46 now and can remember riding the tank
What did this bike sell for?
I had a 77 it wasn’t the fastest but it handled great
I had no idea Honda built a 4 cylinder 400 street bike. Cool!
350,400,500,550,750 197ish bikes
Still build it in 90 and early 2000
