I’m the Rules Girl, and this is Age of Civilization, a small box civ-building game for 1-4 players.
In Age of Civilization, players lead their people to a glorious future, by rising and annexing new civilizations, discovering new technologies, and earning more wealth than their opponents.

This leaves out a really important rule. You can only ever have 3 civilizations in front of you. Which means that if you don't pass a few times early in the game, you'll end up without any way to get workers later in the game. This should have been mentioned in this.

I'd argue that the video DOES mention you can have no more than 3 civilizations, and never mentions anyway to get rid of them, so it's on you as a player to figure out the strategy of passing on some civs early. a 4 minute rules explanation video isn't gonna have time to get into that kind of strategic gameplay

While this game interests me,I can't justify $42 for a small box game with no artwork or wow factor. I have many other games on my want list that cost the same or less

3 years later but i picked it up for less than $20 (if i remember right) on amazon. good price for it IMO. $42 does seem a bit high, even though i've really enjoyed this game the handful of times i played. found this video to use as a quick refresher on the rules.
