    Hallows, reverse hollows, anything holographic or foil I put immediately in a sleeve. I sort them by numerical and type grass fire water etc etc also how you flip the card over if it doesn't have a non hollow is exactly what I do also. Ive been sorting all of my cards lately and it's been very therapeutic lol. No gaming no TV watching just complete silence and the smell of cardboard. I've been thinking of bundling up evolutions to one sleeve and one slot to save on space with the third evolution be at hollow or non-hollow showing when you open the book. But I feel with evolutions of three if I put the second evolution in the sleeve with the other two it's going to get a little cramped. Idk ywt gotta try and see how it works.

    • @jeycholz
      @jeycholz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s actually not a bad idea to put the entire evolution in one sleeve/slot. But I think nowadays for the 360 slot or even the 480 slot binders there’s a lot of space for you to not worry about that. Maybe if you do a trade binder I think stacking cards (max I would say 3-4 in a sleeve/slot) will be a good idea. Just remember that the doubles of there really rare cards are stacked together before trading haha. Also I dont mind the silence as well when sorting but something about having Modern Family or The Office in the background while I sort is sooo relaxing and therapeutic for me! :D

    this video was from 10 months ago now but wanted to say its pretty good method overall. However everyone seems to do things different. For me I dont ever put more than 1 card per slot in binder, what I do is I just replace the non-foil with the foil (reverse). I also replace holo-foils with thier reverse if they have one.
    Most modern sets starting in sword and shield the holo-foil rares have a reversal also. So then it makes a kind of mini-game of collecting not only the "base" set but having a full reversal of the base set collected. So it prolongs the chase/collecting till have full base set in all reverse/holo. Then of course finish with the rares, vs and vmaxes etc. and then secret rares.
    Lot of my binders I re-use the holos that i replaced in base set with reversals and make a page of all the holos ordered by type/number as they appear in the set. that way i can display all the holos all together, while having their reversals in the main set pages.
    I also include trainer gallery in my binder. Most binders are 360 slot which is plenty for most pokemon sets of 200-250 range of cards + trainer gallery. I also have 1 extra of every V/vmax/vstar card, ordered by type. As long as the cards arent to expensive. My general rule is if a card is 10$ in value or above I top-load it, if its few dollars to 10$ I sleeve it with the set's sleeves (like lost origin sleeves). This helps keep the extras/rares together in that set's sleeves. I always keep the sleeves with etbs and/or order them, they usually arent to much 5$ for 80 sleeves, and lasts awhile.
    Anything after the first "extra" of each card, like say I have 3 giratina V cards, i sleeve the set one with lost origin sleeve, i sleeve the extra (the 2nd one) and 3rd one+ goes to a penny sleeve, again depending on value. if its close to 10$ i sometimes sleeve them all in set sleeves, but generally any extras just get penny sleeves to save on sleeves. I buy 1000 count penny sleeves for 11$ at walmart.
    I sleeve all reversals and foils in penny sleeves and always slot them into binder in the sleeves. thats another reason why I like to replace base cards with reversals, as the base cards are just in thier raw, and it just looks nicer to have sleeved foils of everything.
    When I have a huge collection of a set, where I fill a few 800 count (white cardboard boxes) full I do a thing where I take my bulk and sort it all into each card piles. Then I count out 6-8 of each common/uncommon/star rare and everything else goes to bulk box. I dont try to keep more than 8 of any one card. 8 is plenty. I dont need 30 bulbasaur commons.
    For foils I generally only keep 1-2 past the set one. I give lot of my bulk/foils to family members or kids and just keep bare mininum for my set/collection because it can be a lot of bulk boxes and so whenever i can slim down I always set limits. I have...a lot of cards.
    Another reason why i use 6 of any one card is that a standard white cardboard box 800 count acutually holds about 1200. if you slim down to 6 of any one card, then you can fit a 200 card set in a 800 (1200) count box. Then I can have 1 white box per set as a master set extras. Then any other white boxes are just bulk and can be sold/given out.
    If i am filling an etb for family or friends, I use 4 of every card, and can get most every base card in set in an etb because it holds about 600 cards. adjust as needed to make it fit and makes a great gift for kids 600 cards, 4 of each card in set in an etb ready to go.
    I keep 1 etb for my extra foils for each set, so that way i know where my extra rares/foils are at for each set, and can reach for them when i need them. bulk foils just go in 800 count boxes. when full I try to sell them so not to stack up.
    And lastly I order a lot of binders. I prefer zipper binders and side-loading pre-stiched pages. I used to use 3-ring binders and order pages. But just more convienent to use pre-made binders. saves on ordering more pages and wear and tear on the 3-ring. I also customize each binder to whatever set i am doing. I tend to pick a color that represents the set so i can easily identify which binder is for which set. Like for scarlet violet I have a purple one, for lost origin I used red. Evolving skies is green.
    I recently got a larger binder 520 slot and put multiple smaller sets in it to save space. I put Go, shining fates, shining vaults (shining fate subset) the halloween 2022 and 2023 sets, mcdonalds 2022 and 2023 sets and later when i get some, champions path will go in there as well. combining multiple smaller sets into 1 binder is smart and was a cool idea.
    I hope i helped someone with these ideas/tips on how to organize pokemon collection. But its however you want to do it, collecting is personal and long as it works for you, and have fun, thats all that matters.

      Hey Brandon, thank you for stopping by on my channel! I really appreciate it as well as commenting in detail as well! I Apologize for responding to you really late, you took your time making a detailed comment and I want to take the time to return the favour :)
      I agree, there are many ways to sort cards into a binder, it really depends on how a collector wants to create/collect they're sets. Replacing the card with there reverse or holo foils is not a bad way to do it, for myself really I can’t come to getting rid of the non-holos as I feel like its part of the set haha! XD
      Your absolutely right! It does feel like a mini-game when collecting, I guess thats why when completing a set after it came out a few years or months ago is sooo satisfying! :)
      That’s a pretty cool idea with all the holos being on a page for your binders, currently with a lot of my duplicates I save them in a bulk box or ETB. Hopefully once I build them to a certain point I can either make a new binder for all holos to display or even just give them away to my local community. Christmas is around the corner so ill probably be giving away a lot of them soon :)
      Totally agree, but for the extras I would set them aside to my trade binder. I would use Top loaders if I’m going to be doing a trade/sale or maybe even to hold long term if the card is actually really rare (like a Moonbreon or Alternate art of Giritina). And the Trainer Galleries / Illustration rares I would put them in my set as well just to keep everything together. Sometimes depending on the order I may start a new page just for the Galleries / illustration rares.
      Haha Im surprised your using the Art Work sleeves, Im currently saving a lot of mines for future TCG Decks for the actual game play. Im not into it now, but I most likely will in the future.
      I haven’t started sleeve the Reverse’s or Holo foil cards, I totally understand that they will protect the cards for a much longer term however I haven’t come to it doing that process yet for all my sets but will do eventually.
      That’s an amazing use on your ETB’s, currently I use mines to house all my holos and reverse holo extras. All the non-holo cards all go into my white card box and I use the dividers that come in the ETB’s to help separate them by sets.
      Haha I learn the hard way that the 3 Ring Binders over time are not good for TCG cards. Once they get stuffed, a lot of the pages start bending which also causes the cards to bend as well which is not good. Cost wise, I use the Ultra-Pro binders that have the elastic bands on the side verses the zip-up binders. Mainly due to the costs involved in buying the zip-ups is a little too pricey for me (Hopefully someday I can purchase enough for all my master sets haha!!). Ultra pros have been more affordable for me plus there are a lot of artworks that look amazing such as the Pokemon themed ones. Also when it comes to the band I generally don’t use it when I start getting to the 50% mark in filling up the set. That’s when you can start seeing a slight indent where the band is compressing the binder which entail will bend the cards. If your set is filled 50% or less it should be fine otherwise. :)
      Also you Gota tell me where you get your 520 set binders!!! I can never find them locally in my area!! HAHA!!
      Thanks again for taking your time in responding Brandon!! I know a lot of collectors in this community found your detail comment soo informative! I appreciate the time and follow up from you! Good luck on your Journey and Happy Collecting my friend! :D

      That’s actually a very good idea!! But I would not do that in a 3x3 binder. More of a 4x3 that way the reverse holos are side by side with the regular cards instead of being mismatched 😊

      @Zagoreni02A 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jeycholz Yeah, all of my binders are 3x3, so i usually have a regular and then reverse holo, or regular and holo. • @jeycholz
      @jeycholz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thats a very good question, there are a lot of collectors out there that are only interested in the types of Pokemon Cards and its very normal. If you want to organize by types I suggest to get a Binder specifically for that type.
      For example, I am very much into Steel Type Pokemon! What I can do is create a binder specifically for them, either in a 3x3 or a 4x3 ultra pro binder. However, i'm more specially into Steel Type cards that are like Scizor, Steelix, Empoleon, Lucario etc. For each of these I plan on creating their own binder because throughout the many years Pokemon TCG was out, there have been many variations of them.
      So might as well start collecting these cards back from the many years and put them all together in one binder.

      Hmm looks like they may actually be from different sets, have you checked where both cards are from?

    Seriously, stuffing more than one card in a pocket? Ugh.

    • @jeycholz
      @jeycholz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There are sets that have over 200 cards, if you add the reverse holos and holos separately it could go to 400+ cards. One ultra pro binder with 360 sleeve space won’t be enough for one set if you don’t layer the identical cards with there reverses and holos. Hope that clarifies 😊

      @@DanielHerbert77 Believe me, I wish the 4 x 3 ultra pro binders were more affordable. If they were I would sleeve each regular, reverse and holos in there own space 😭

      @@DanielHerbert77 haha very true, I guess that’s were parents should try to be involved (if they want to) and advise the kiddos at a young age on how to be cognizant on handling/taking care of their collectibles.
