How do Xbox Cloud Saves work?

- People ask me all the time How do I access my Xbox One Cloud, Is there an Xbox One Cloud, How do I manage my Xbox One Cloud Saves, In this video, I'll explain how to access the cloud, how to save to the cloud and to use the Xbox One Cloud. In short, you're Xbox One Game saves are automatically uploaded to the Cloud. They will stay in sync as long as you are connected to Xbox Live. You do not manage the cloud, or have multiple cloud saves. If your saves are out of sync from playing offline and on different consoles you will be prompted as to what Xbox Game Save you want to keep.

Great video, I wish Xbox had a way to revert to older saves via cloud. Even if it’s just a few saves this would help massively with corrupted saves.

For anyone confused checking comments beforehand, I deleted all saved data on my BO3 (with years worth of stuff), when I reopened it started me from scratch, I closed it entirely and it gave me the option to choose from cloud data (it will give you a time stamp), I clicked that and now it's all back

Hey I need help. So I just got the MWll multiplayer update but I had already ran through half of the campaign. Like u said it gave me the option to sync to saved data from the cloud but I clicked on ‘this console’ instead and lost all my progress. Do you know how I can sync my data from the cloud instead? Plz help

Another hot tip: If you want to delete a cloud save for a 360 game on xbox one, start the game then press Select + Start at the same time. This will open the X360 menu and one of the options is Manage Storage, which lets you access 360 cloud saves.

Been trying to find a good explanation for how this works, and this was the only one I could find. Gonna be upgrading my series S to an X and didnt want to lose my saves, but couldnt find any info or even a demo of how this worked anywhere. Nice one.

So if an account is currently offline, and you then preformed a factory reset on the console where the saved data is, the saved data from back when the account was connected to Xbox live will be on the Xbox cloud, right? Also, the Xbox Cloud is the same thing as the Xbox Network, right? “Asking for a friend” who can’t get online because Xbox is asking for an Alternate MAC Address.

It's a shame. Xbox 360 was seamless. I played on my friends account at his home during the holiday, and when I came back, I could transfer the file easy. Back in 2010.

So for minecraft I have a world that is really good. I go to my other Xbox and load up minecraft and it syncs the data. I go on the world and the world is one save back or something like that. When I go back to the original Xbox I’m stuck with this save. PLEASE HELP

I did a factory reset while I was online but then it switched to offline but I hit reset and save data, but when I got back in it deleted some of my worlds in Minecraft, idk how to fix this and I’ve had that world for a year 1 1/2. How often does the cloud save update saves? How can i affect the frequency of the cloud saving my saves?

So here's my scenario/question based upon your video(great video by the way, definitely subbing)
I am doing a 100% walkthrough for Sekiro and to do all the endings in one play through, you have to back up your save file. So here's my thought process.....
Get to Ending A - Save - Go "offline" - Do Ending A - Get Achievement - Delete Local Save Data - Go Online - (here's the question) when I go back online, it should theoretically bring me back to where I was before I completed ending A, correct?
Im on Dark souls 3 can you not just save to usb device like playstation can.

Late comment but this vid is the most in depth tutorial, and very informative, and no know shows the bit where the Xbox gave you the option to choose which save you want to use. Also now I think on the series x it tells you how much save data is on both the console and cloud save.
I restarted my Windows and it occurred to me to choose an old or new save and I chose something wrong and now I have nothing to force. Please help me I worked in vain!

Yes, on the cloud AKA the Microsoft account that you have linked with.

I just downloaded a game and I got through like %90 of tye campaign and it asked me to use my progress on my Xbox or cloud save. Obviously I picked Xbox and then all my campaign progress was gone but my online progress is still there, is there a way to get back the campaign progress?

What about choosing what data you want to start on for example does it let you choose a specific saved data ?
I do not believe so. The Xbox online save is the most recent save from the console since the console was last online. There is no way to see previous saves as those are overwritten. I'm not 100% sure if this is true, but I've been doing tons of research on this and there doesn't seem to be a way to access previous online save files. Kinda dumb in my opinion, so sorry about any inconveniences this brought you.
When I do this, the only thing a can clear is reserved space. I can’t find the clear data everywhere option.
More than once I've lost progress from games I had on quick resume and where forcibly closed, either by a bug or server disconnection. It simply loaded an older save when I opened the game again. It happened to me and it happened to my friend. I have no idea why this happens, but I really can't trust quick resume anymore. It seems it does not upload your game unless you close it, so if you keep playing the same game you can lose days of progress if you never close that game.
I watched your whole video and I am pretty sure if I remember I think I deleted everywhere because here's the thing is on fortnite and my save the world it has no save file at all what so ever but it left me off to where I was before so I don't understand this whole Cloud thing
I'm pretty sure You need Your email and password On fortnite in order to Access Your account on Xbox.

I’m probably mush late after the video was released but I still need help right now.
So basically, since 3 days until now, my game (Minecraft) won’t sync any data. It goes straight to the menu screen without showing any signs of syncing.

Little tip if it keeps syncing over and over you can turn your xbox off after deleting these data and then turning it back on it will actually delete it

Same bro. So I found out if you quit out of the game, then delete everywhere, then load the game back up but as soon as you load the game up go to network settings and click go offline, then it has nothing to download saved data from so once it’s loaded you can go back online and it should be gone.
@@chrisp6829 yeah I also tried this multiple times. Still didn’t work. I think maybe it’s because I’m doing it on the series x and the loading times are just stupidly fast. The game loads almost instantly. Bear in mind I’m trying to do this on nba2k...which is an EA franchise. I spoke to Xbox support and they said it could be an EA thing as you have to link your Xbox account to EA in order to play their games. The load files could be in their servers so the second I go back online, they obtain my files again
I used to play forza with Bobby and I that was on his X-BOX 360 and now he got a X-BOX 1 on his birthday and he started up forza just today and he didn’t have any of his old game progress on X-BOX 360 for the FORZA HORIZON 2
So is there no way for me to access my TES IV: Oblivion save on the cloud, transfer it from the cloud to my flashdrive in order to mod it, and transfer it back to the cloud (this is how I used to do it years ago on my 360, but replace cloud with harddrive)? That is literally all I want to know.

How can you clear the storage for local saved games without going to settings then storage and clearing it. This sounds weird but it is really annoying when ur in a good part of game then the storage is full thing pops up. Maybe there isnt one.. idk im curious
