Following these steps absolutely helped me out so much and I managed to get both of these worlds back and im having fun playing them in the newest version of the game. I think I found a much easier way of getting into the game, what I did was I installed the special version and then when I clicked on it to open it I actually clicked update and then as fast as possible I went into the settings and went into offline mode, after I went into offline mode I did the rest like normal and powered the Xbox off and then turned it on again and first try I opened the game. I think it works because if you have the "update" in the queue it wont ask you to download another update, but the thing is this "update" is actually just installing the game pass version of the game and is not an actual update so therefor it lets you play the special version without telling you it needs an update or you need to be online.
@@Sj-ux7vb this method I found worked twice for me and it's what got my world's fixed, trying the videos method I would always get stuck on "you need to be online for this" but this one I did was first try both times.
@@Sj-ux7vb no, you click update and then rig as you see the update start you go into offline mode so the update can't finish, and right after going into offline mode you turn the Xbox off, and I am using wifi.
Sidenote, Mojang really needs to fix this! It’s ridiculous that the Xbox version gets the worst experience! This is why I’m waiting for a series x version!
I have a world that goes back to 2018 with old signs I keep updating and I haven't been able to because I couldn't sync it. But you helped me fix it. Really appreciate it brother
Thank you so much man, had to restart about 7 times and redownload but it worked, im on series s and the biggest problem i had was the turn on/off part, i had to be really fast to be able to launch it hope this helped for someone who is struggling with it
I FOUND ANOTHER WAY!!! Thanks man for the help but it wasn’t working so i went back into online mode. then I deleted ALL versions of Minecraft and your gonna want to download the “Preview” edition. After that your gonna want to sync your worlds from release edition and then go to the world that is corrupted. Now you want to download it to preview edition and it should work (worked for me at least). I kept all the settings mentioned in this video except for turning on offline mode. Now it should work in preview edition. I know it’s not a perfect method as you will have to go into release edition to play with already added friends and stuff but it works. Hope this helps!
I synced it to the preview and it let me go on my old world perfect fine but when I went to the real Minecraft it still won’t allow me to get on the world. Need help!!!
All you have to do with out all these steps is go to saved data on MC, delete local only then go back into the world you want to play and click it, it will then sync back with the cloud saved. Locals keep getting corrupted and I think it's due to most people not letting it sync after they hit save.
guys if this doesnt work for you you can download the preview version of the game, and then import your worlds to that. it allows you to play it which will then allow you to sync it on regular mc. shout out to the dude in the comments who told me abt this.

I found another fix for people with certain issues: > People whose world was corrupted after installing the game to get add-ons. > People who get corrupt worlds after u installing the game in general. > People who get the "Failed to Sync Data" when they load up Minecraft. These issues usually relate to you hitting the play offline button or that your worlds have not been or are not synced to the cloud. 1. Quit Minecraft 2. Reset the Xbox and unplug the power cord for 15 seconds 3. Plug in the cord and turn on the Xbox. 4. Click on Minecraft 5. If you get the usual "Failed to Sync Data" press "Try Again" 6. Keep hitting "Try Again" whenever the same issue comes up 7. You will eventually get the option to use console saves or cloud; pick cloud 8. Your worlds will still have the black and white picture but when you click on it the game will ask you to pick between console or cloud, pick cloud again, and your world will return to the last uncorrupted save I found out that a lot of people have been hitting the "play offline" button whenever the message pops up, as this skips the wait and you can still play online, but when you hit that button, none of your progress gets saved.
I followed all the steps perfectly and upon selecting the pencil and waiting, an Xbox message eventually pops up that says “We couldn’t sync your data with the cloud just now”. I cannot move forward from this point and have repeated the whole process numerous times with no progress
i’m on series x, i’ve experienced the issue of not getting the game to launch after restarting my xbox. On series x you just have to repeat the process until the game opens when you are offline. Once the game is open i switched accounts and instead of simply toggling online (which wouldn’t work for me) i forgot my network to go offline and logged back in to get back online. After this step my minecraft popped up the the cloud storage promt. I clicked through it and got to my corrupted worlds. At this stage i was ready to click the pencil icons that reside next to my worlds and so i did. My xbox syncs the data and then the world disappears after the sync is complete. After updating the minecraft version my worlds were back but grayed out and still corrupted. I’m going to persist and try get this to work. I hope my breakdown of what’s happening can relate to someone else.
Had a 700 mb world for four plus years. Thing that you shouldn't see in vanilla mc. Void chunk, bedrock block, nether portal frame and all the cool farms from amazing creators. This fix work on the second try. Thank you to all the people that made this fix work.

I have been fighting tooth and nail to get back a world I started 6 years ago, I followed this tutorial and a dozen others to a T and it didn’t work. Microsoft and Mojang REALLY need to pull their heads out and fix this, it’s unbearably frustrating.
This DOES work on next gen. I repeat DOES WORK on next gen. I just got back a 3 year passion project world and a world that me and my sister played on before she shipped off to college. Almost 600 hours in 2 worlds. I should note for next gen people you have to be EXTREMLY fast on the draw. I had to retry to launch the game in offfline mode several times. You will get it, just keep trying. And I should add that my mods did save, as well as some texture packs. Booted like normal. Launched on 1.20 as well with no issues on series S I did however fully lose 2 worlds when I was saving my others. This does not 100% guarantee you will get all your worlds back. Some might be lost forever. thank you smitty for this. I am deeply, deeply greatful.

For anyones whos kept saying you need to connect to the internet after restarting the xbox, All you have to do is basically redo everything. At first I couldnt get it then i uninstalled and started from the begginning and it worked the second time.
This worked for me as of september 2023! If it doesn’t work for you make sure that minecraft is installed on your INTERNAL drive and not an external storage. It didn’t work for me until I transferred it over. Many thanks to this guy for making this vid

Did every step correctly, btw I'm Xbox series s, got past the off then on stage, logged in, went online on second account, it showed the data thing, clicked the right one, went to worlds and nothing was there, redid twice, still nothing
I'm going to put an addendum here because I and others have made this mistake and I hope nobody else does. When deleting the save files, make specifically sure that you've at least started up the game and let it cloud sync, because if not it will delete it everwhere and you'll be boned. I've tried looking everywhere and have been told that its impossible to get the save data back if its been deleted from the cloud. I do not blame the video creator as it was my faux pas, however, I'd rather not have this happen to somebody else.

@@kinker9899 it ended up working for me. It's really weird and kinda goes against logic but -- keep trying the whole process again and again FROM THE START (very important) and just.....magically for some reason.... eventually it will allow you to play without prompting you online. It worked on my third FULL try. if it doesn't work, you MUST start the process FROM THE BEGINNING again. Do not try and use logic to bypass steps or figure it out for yourself.
When I get to the restart Xbox part and I try and click on Minecraft as fast I can I just keep getting the connect to the Xbox network pop up. I’ve retried like 3 times. I’m on series x.
I don’t usually leave comments on videos but I wanted to say thank you, I was able to restore a world that I started all the way back in 2015 that world holds a place in my heart and I made a lot of good memories on it, it just reminds me of a better time in my life and what I can do in the future, it’s sad that mojang themselves couldn’t come up with a fix. Saved some of my worlds, but not my two most important. I have 2 copies of each and none of then sync. What are the chances... It says to use another console. (Don't have one)

Help! I’m still struggling to get this to work. I have an old Xbox One and have followed the steps fastidiously and still get the “First, connect to the Xbox network” message after I attempt the reboot offline. I have tried like a dozen times. I have also tried alternative suggestions that others have made in the comments. The only thing that is different on my system is that my Xbox has the updated software/interface now. Do you think that would cause the problem?
You forgot tell people about that they need to be connected to wireless internet, not ethernet. It works 100% with wireless internet, and you need to delete or update all ur games which are paused on update, or it will not work. Ireset my Xbox for having save space problems, and when opening Minecraft back up I needed to resync all my worlds. When trying to do so it keeps saying "Failed to sync…world corrupted and such. Try on a xbox that isn't corrupted." I found a new temporary fix, if you click on the world and cancel the syncing, immediately start the world. This worked for me 100% of the time.

@@Priceless-we6nb That comment was before the patch. I’m not sure if it still works, but essentially let you play the world and have somewhat of a save. Although I never fully got the world to sync.

I have been fighting tooth and nail to get back a world I started 6 years ago, I followed this tutorial and a dozen others to a T and it didn’t work. Microsoft and Mojang REALLY need to pull their heads out and fix this, it’s unbearably frustrating.
This DOES work on next gen. I repeat DOES WORK on next gen. I just got back a 3 year passion project world and a world that me and my sister played on before she shipped off to college. Almost 600 hours in 2 worlds.
I should note for next gen people you have to be EXTREMLY fast on the draw. I had to retry to launch the game in offfline mode several times. You will get it, just keep trying. And I should add that my mods did save, as well as some texture packs. Booted like normal.
Launched on 1.20 as well with no issues on series S
I did however fully lose 2 worlds when I was saving my others. This does not 100% guarantee you will get all your worlds back. Some might be lost forever.

and somehow my 2 worlds that were vanished were in my storage while syncing old worlds to preview
clicking update makes it update forever. Thinks for ruining my console I can’t even use Minecraft now

A quicker method that works for me is going to Minecraft preview and import your survival world and then go back into Minecraft and it should work

For anyones whos kept saying you need to connect to the internet after restarting the xbox, All you have to do is basically redo everything. At first I couldnt get it then i uninstalled and started from the begginning and it worked the second time.

This worked for me as of september 2023! If it doesn’t work for you make sure that minecraft is installed on your INTERNAL drive and not an external storage. It didn’t work for me until I transferred it over. Many thanks to this guy for making this vid

What if all was successful but the world still is corrupted??
For anyone stuck on getting onto the game after turning the internet off, just uninstall the game and do the spongebob version of the game over and over until you finally are able to get into the game.
i just redownloaded it a solid 3 times, i feel my time has been wasted.

My Xbox shows quick tips for like the first 10 seconds and then when Minecraft shows up I have to connect to internet

@@Unknown_13404 actually when I did it, i accidentally mis-clicked and opened microsoft store first so minecraft wasn't even the first thing i opened after the reboot, so no i don't think it had anything to do with the speed :)

I’m trying to recover a world and my Xbox Series X console won’t let me do the step “After you console powers back up, instantly click Minecraft” because no matter how fast I click it, it instantly takes me to the “First, Connect to the Xbox network” screen. I know this video I older but I assume it should still work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@@Smitty058 oh thanks for the reply! I just have the regular Xbox one. I’ve had it since 2014. And the world I lost was one I created back in 2012 that I ported over from the 360.

Did every step correctly, btw I'm Xbox series s, got past the off then on stage, logged in, went online on second account, it showed the data thing, clicked the right one, went to worlds and nothing was there, redid twice, still nothing
I'm going to put an addendum here because I and others have made this mistake and I hope nobody else does. When deleting the save files, make specifically sure that you've at least started up the game and let it cloud sync, because if not it will delete it everwhere and you'll be boned. I've tried looking everywhere and have been told that its impossible to get the save data back if its been deleted from the cloud. I do not blame the video creator as it was my faux pas, however, I'd rather not have this happen to somebody else.

@@kinker9899 it ended up working for me. It's really weird and kinda goes against logic but -- keep trying the whole process again and again FROM THE START (very important) and just.....magically for some reason.... eventually it will allow you to play without prompting you online.
It worked on my third FULL try. if it doesn't work, you MUST start the process FROM THE BEGINNING again. Do not try and use logic to bypass steps or figure it out for yourself.

I don’t usually leave comments on videos but I wanted to say thank you, I was able to restore a world that I started all the way back in 2015 that world holds a place in my heart and I made a lot of good memories on it, it just reminds me of a better time in my life and what I can do in the future, it’s sad that mojang themselves couldn’t come up with a fix. The mojang from when that world was created isn’t the same mojang of today sadly 😕

@@Smitty058 nope. Basically said accept your world is gone. I might try a last resort data recovery thing to attempt to get back my UWPConsole worlds folder before it was fucked from the October 5th update

My Microsoft store is stuck updating at 98% . And it also doesn't let me download it

@@Smitty058 ok so i tried another method so instead of trying to go on Minecraft quickly because it didn't work i connected to the Internet and updated my minecraft somehow i got one of my big survival worlds back and the sync user data worked somehow so im fine now not sure how it worked this time it didn't work for some of my other worlds but i got the world i wanted back so im fine now thanks through smitty :)
Help! I’m still struggling to get this to work. I have an old Xbox One and have followed the steps fastidiously and still get the “First, connect to the Xbox network” message after I attempt the reboot offline. I have tried like a dozen times. I have also tried alternative suggestions that others have made in the comments. The only thing that is different on my system is that my Xbox has the updated software/interface now. Do you think that would cause the problem?

You forgot tell people about that they need to be connected to wireless internet, not ethernet. It works 100% with wireless internet, and you need to delete or update all ur games which are paused on update, or it will not work. (Sorry for my bad English, but i want make sure that there will be no longer people who lost their worlds) Don't be like Microsoft want u to be!

Ireset my Xbox for having save space problems, and when opening Minecraft back up I needed to resync all my worlds. When trying to do so it keeps saying "Failed to sync…world corrupted and such. Try on a xbox that isn't corrupted." I have the Xbox series x, the world still has the date I last played it, I've tried almost everything I can find online to try and uncorrupt it, but it will not sync still. Any help would be great. When trying to load it on my old xbox it loads the world from almost a year agos progress. I’ve tried this and it did not work.
