Hi Lethius! I just came across your page and loved watching your video!!!!! It was so refreshing to see genuine happiness talking about plants. Your energy was very nice to watch! I have moved 90% of my plants to leca and will never go back to soil. I could relate to the leca flying everywhere. Hello from Mississippi! -Cassidy
Hey Cassidy! Thank you so much! I am chuffed to hear that you are enjoying my videos! Have you tried using Pon? It can be more of a pain to clean up! 😂
@@RootsReady I am already so clumsy with big chunks of leca, I can only imagine the mess id make with pon🙄. I'd love to use it for my more fine roots but I know I would be stepping on it for months because i couldn't pick up every little piece 😂
Hey Lethius! I love your videos and the clarinervium is one of my top wishlist plants. I just added a few new wishlist plants, including a beautiful pallidiflorum, but my collection will not feel complete without a clarinervium. Thank you for sharing her with us! She is a beauty! -Nora
Hey Lethius! You are so right when you say this plant is very resilient because I've killed mine and brought it back twice lol. It has been in sphagnum moss for some time now and I wasn't sure if I was going to move her to pon or leca but after seeing this video I definitely think leca is the way to go.
I have one of these on the way. I am going to put it into an aroid mix with lots compost biochar etc. One thing I found with LECA and PON is it is hard to transfer over and I don't like LECA at all. I killed my first Thai Constellation when I transferred it from PON to cocopeat. Those medias make the roots too thin and light. I want my plants in as natural media as possible. Nice beautiful plant though.
@@RootsReady I only use leca to cover holes in the pots, but it is not something I use outside of the wonderful aroid mix I purchase from E t S y. I just watched an awesome vid with a man who grows his in glass and said you don't need soil to grow them.
Uhm, nix on the no drainage! My plants did not like it. My plants got damaged by hail and they are rehabbing. Weird that my Crysal put out a huge leaf after the damage. The Clari is hobbling along and is now putting out a new leaf. This thing was so huge I had those long stingy things growing out of it. I absolutely love these plants. Dang hail!
I paid mine 56 dollars, it was a baby, for a year didn’t do anything for me , then last month I decided to pit in water coz i was worried that all leaves was looking sick
I've maybe had one leaf per year 🥲😅 I've recently moved one to leca to see if that improves things. How long until you saw additional root growth? It's probably been 4 weeks and I can't see any new root growth.
Thanks! I bought a couple plants at a surprisingly reasonable price and am thinking of re-potting so leca sounds like the way to go. What I am wondering is what is your watering scheme for A. Clarinervium? Recently a lady told me that she gives hers a lukewarm shower once every two weeks approximately. It was right at a point when two other A. Clarinerviums where about to die. I have tried that and it seems to have saved both plants but I am dissappointed in the size of the leaves. Do you use anything other than just water ... like some kind of 'fertilizer'? And do you allow your pots to 'sit in water' or is it all drained off after each watering?
Great question! I have found that my Clarinervium have done very well in leca. I don't shower my plants personally due to lack of time, but its a great idea. I would recommend using a hydroponic fertiliser. I use Formulex here in the UK as it is full spectrum. You can use any you feel comfortable with. This is especially important in the spring and summer when the plan is growing. I do leave a small reservoir in the pot so that the plan can wick it up. This also reduces the frequency of watering. I hope that helps
I also microwave damp potting material - not leca, but composts and coconut chips/coir that have been standing outside/outdoors to kill and bugs, slug eggs etc, cooled then mixed with other media. I micro three to six litres of the individual ingredients for ten minutes to make sure nasties are dead.
@@msladyjune3285 That's a good question. I keep mine in a west-facing window that gets very hot in the afternoons. I find that Pon and LECA dry out too quickly in that location and soil holds onto more of its moisture in the direct sunlight. So I decided to keep it in soil for now. I have seen some people keep aglaonema in pon and leca, and some even in water.
Hi Bro. Yes, A sexy Bro, with that sexy Black British accent aaaannd that sexy Clarinervium plant. This has been on my plish list for some time now and I'm looking out for it here in the U.S., NY. Stay handsome, stay fit, stay intelligent and most of all Prince, STAY IN JESUS. He's our only way to a better, beautiful LIFE. JOHN 3:16-18.
You are SO BRAVE making an ANTHURIUM your FIRST passive-hydro plant! It's beautiful, and those roots! Wow!
😂😂 Thanks so much! In hindsight I should have started with a smaller plant
Thank you very much for this video. It's time to put my Anthurium in leca, and hopefully, I can save her.
Best of luck with it! 🤞
@@RootsReady I appreciated 😀
Your plant looks beautiful!! So big!! I think I will transfer mine two over to leca they’re just existing
I my experience anthuriums do very well in Semi hydro

It's sounds like you have had quite the back and forth with yours. Leca has worked really well with this one.
I think I’m gonna do that with mine. It’s look the same since I’d bought it 6 months ago

Gorgeous! Haven't delved into anthuriums yet but clarinervium is definitely on my wishlist for the right price.
Thank you!! The clarinervium is a great place to start. You can maybe start one from seed or a small cutting

Thank you sooo much for these tips. This was so helpful.
You are so welcome!
Those roots were amazing. Nice vid.
Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous plant. I'm trying to decide if I should get one and after seeing your plant, I definitely want one now.
I would 100% recommend this plant. I would warn you that once you have one velvet leaf anthurium, you will want more 😄
@@RootsReady 🤣 I don't doubt that one bit.
How about anthurium waroq and veitchii?
The veitchii is doing great however the waroq lost its leaves due to the cold weather :(
That’s a great plant, I’d love to get one. Great tips 😊
Thank you! I would definitely recommend it if your are looking for a velvety anthurium

I believe it took me a few weeks before first signs of growth. Once it was settled, it grew really quickly
Beautiful clarinervum! Those roots😍😍Now I want one lol..i thought i was satisfied with my crystalinum🙃
😂 I have learned that I am never satisfied with just one anthurium!
Wow nice beautiful plant Watching from California and I love your videos
Thank you so much!
Great video! How much water do you add to the pot?
Thank you! I add about 1/4 water to the cache pot
@@RootsReady Thank You!!😀
You got a THUMBS UP from me 🙂
Thank you so much!
Doesn't the plant needs nutrients?something like a little boost?like a fertilizer? Your plants looks beautiful by the way 😍!!!@
Yes I do. I had a liquid fertiliser to the water reservoir about twice a month. And thank you!

😍😍😍 it’s looking good!
I was a bit worried about the roots😅 but it is still going strong!
How much do u but water after that ?
I tend to refill the water every two weeks
Do you think anthuriums do better in pon or leca?
Although this plant has done very well in leca, I find anthuriums grow more roots in pon
@@RootsReady Good to know, thanks for sharing!
Glad you used boiling water, not many people do. Leca becomes like lego bricks when you stand on them.

Do you have Aglaonema growing in Pon?
Hi there, I'm afraid that I don't own any aglaonema at the moment. I have a Dieffenbachia which is similar but I keep it in soil
Why not in Pon? Your Dieffenbachia?

I’ve never had anthurium, I’m kinda scared of (killing) them lol
If you would like to get into the velvet leaf anthurium you should definitely start with the clarinervium
