This is going to help SO many plant lovers who are getting into anthurium!! Thank you for all the great info! I'm glad you hit on pot size for these plants because this is something I found out about anthurium much later and really wished that I'd seen someone with experience talking about this sooner because I had just kept hearing that most plants that we were growing indoors liked to be a bit pot bound but that's DEFINITELY not the case with these guys if you want them to size up faster👌❤️
Thanks so much! Some orchids grow well root bound - but if you want big anthuriums - you need big pots - I've seen some roots grow 1/2 inch in 1 day... I'm moving most of my plants to 6 gallon white pots now as they are ready - we'll see how big they get soon...
@@growproteas1148 yeah, my hoyas tend to to better a little root bound too. I've definitely noticed that they flower more like that.. although that could be due to them just being more mature, but 🤷🏻♀️ I can't even *imagine* what you're anthuriums will look like in another 6 months!🤯🤩
@@laurenervin1404 yes I'm looking forward to seeing what growth I get... I will make an update in the future
I’m so excited to find your page!! You’ve got this down! I’m using your advice for my tiny baby anthurium!
How does it feel to be one of Gods favored ones ? Hahahha. This is INSANE . So inspiring. Please update again soon. Thanks for the very very helpful video. You are a rockstar!
thanks so much!
OMG!! I’ve just discovered the plant God! I thought Sydney plant guy was a genius but this just blew my mind!!! Wow, is it possible to be so impressed that it brings you to tears! ❤❤❤❤ thank you so much for sharing, please share more, I’m in love 😍
Thanks so much for your kind words! Good luck with your plants...
these plants are INCREDIBLE!!!! and i love what you said about pots and sizing up quickly, that's what ive been doing too (and shared in a recent video). I've only ever heard people say to let them be rootbound in small pots. lucky one friend said to size up quickly so i did and it is the best thing imo! thank youuuu for sharing with us!
thanks so much! - root bound sometimes works for some orchids - but not anthuriums! Good luck!!
I have never ever watched a video where every question I asked, was answered until now! Thank you so much!!! That video was absolutely amazing!!
Part2. I just wanted to add a few thing that I didn’t yesterday (I was flat out at work but was playing your video in the background and loved your video so much I had to comment). At work I play plant videos pretty much all day, and one thing I notice that always drives me crazy is people never show what conditions there plant’s actually live in. And to clarify, as a viewer we rarely see exactly where a plant lives in a house. People always move the plant to a specific location that they use for filming for good lighting or a nice backdrop. And as much as we all appreciate that. To be honest, as a actual plant grower, I’d rather see it’s living conditions, where is it located compared to a window. Is it in a large drafty room or in a smaller high humidity room. It there other plants close by giving it a micro climate. When I saw your amazing large leaf besties, those were all the questions I started asking, and one by one, you went through them all! And I really do appreciate that!! Also your advice on sizing up every 6 mins. 🤯🤯 absolutely amazing! Almost every other TH-camr out there says to wait 2 years because it’s such a slow growing plant… however, you’ve completely revolutionized that concept!! Can’t wait to keep seeing more planty videos from you guys!!! 😍 also, for seasonal temperature reason, where are you guys located? I’m in Fort McMurray Canada and to be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever get my humidity levels to yours… but I’ll keep trying at least in the summer! 😉 and if you could do a video explaining exactly how you go about picking a grow light, and even setting it up. I’d love to see that!! Thanks! ☺️ all the extra details are greatly appreciated!!! 🙌 🙌 🙌
wow - thanks so much for the wonderful comments!!! New update video coming soon - I live in Sacramento, CA
GREAT tips about moving to larger pots and in moss. I’m so glad I found your video 😂😂😂
moss works very well for these plants
Wow! That is huge! Never have I seen anything like it❤
Couldn’t have enjoyed this more.
Thank you 💚
And wow, your collection is amazing.
Thanks so much! Good luck with your plants...
So much fantastic info! And straight to the point, thank you 🙏🏼

These are absolutely beautiful!! I’m just now venturing into anthuriums and I’m excited.

what an amazing review.. very inspiring and informative! with great specimen examples too. now I'm even more confident growing mine in the right direction :) thank you for sharing
thanks - good luck with your plants...
Thank you for this informative video! It was very helpful! You have amazingly beautiful plants!
Stunning plants 💚
That was so satisfying to watch. Wish we could see you prepare that substrate💚
I will be making a new video soon when i move the queen from a 2 gallon pot to a 6 gallon pot - will show how I make the sphagnum moss mix. thanks!
Just amazing! Thanks for the repotting tips! I was wondering why my aroids were not getting as big as yours. Thanks for sharing all your tips! Your plants are beautiful!
good luck and pot bigger - I will soon make a video re-potting the queen from a 2 gallon to 6 gallon...
This is crazy nuts ! 😱 Love that this video was created & made. I just recently got into anthuriums and have told myself the same. Buy young & I also dont do a cabinet or provide extra humidity. Im excited for growth !
good luck... let me know how it goes - I'd like to see other people succeed...
Wow, those anthurium are absolutely gorgeous!!! 😍Thanks so much for all the amazing tips. I have my first anthurium on the way to me now and this is so helpful.
thanks! good luck with your plant...
You have the most beautiful plants!! I guess the best advices come with showing the healthy plants to prove it!
thanks!
Your plants are out of this world and as someone who just started to get into anthurium the information here is priceless ❤
good luck with your plants...
Wow! These are gorgeous!
thanks so much!
You just blown my mind !!! Please keep posting. You are gonna be my master! I struggle so much with Anthuriums, clearly I am doing everything wrong .
thanks so much - good luck with your plants!
Wow didn't know I could grow them in just sphagnum moss and perlite. Thanks so much.
yes they love the moisture plus good aeration
Thanks for the tips, its nice to see these growing well in regular humidity
Thanks....
Most anthuriums can grow in ambient household conditions, the key is to keep them well hydrated really. There are only a select few cloud forest types that can't exist in humidity levels below 80%.
WOW just wow!! Big and beautiful anthuriums!!😊
thanks so much!
I’m so eager to watch more of your videos, watching you from Iraq
Thanks, Jeanine!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. Especially about the humidity and ikea cabinets.
thanks! good luck with your plants!
Absolutely stunning. Great teamwork btw 😊
thanks so much!
What gorgeous, huge Anthuriums y'all have. I have many plants but, don't have my first Anthurium YET. Seeing that yours don't require a large amount of humidity, I feel like I can def tackle one myself. Thank y'all for sharing some of your collection n God bless y'all!🙏
thanks! Good luck with your new anthuriums...
Just got some anthurium imported. This is so helpful!
good luck with your plants!
Yes yes YES!!!!! This makes me feel validated, as I debated keeping my new King in my living room because of its size. It's already mature so I really can't keep it on my balcony (too windy!). It took over a month to acclimate but it's thriving now with similar humidity levels and is in the middle of putting out a new leaf
thanks! Hope to see you grow some big plants!
just make sure your king is getting adequate light...
Stunning plants!
thanks so much - good luck with your plants
Incredible the health and growth you have achieved!
thanks so much! good luck to your plants..
So jealous. Stunning project. Good on ya.
Jeanine is a patient woman and you are lucky of it.
thanks so much!
Love that i came across this video!! Im a huge anthurium lover and have plenty of my own... im also a fairly laid back plant owner so i dont keep up the crazy humidity requirements with mine either and they do quite well! Its so fun to see how well different techniques work for different people, i tend to baby my imports a bit more, but i have some big ones coming in soon, and no cabinets big enoufh to house them, so we will see how they acclimate!
excellent! good luck with your plants - my queens new leaf is 42 inches long!
Subscribed! What gorgeous plants! I just bought a pallidiflorum and it’s my first anthurium. I love that you aren’t growing these in a greenhouse…gives many of us hope! And your wife is beautiful! 😊
thanks - good luck with your plants!
I am absolutely speechless how beautiful these plants are. 🤩🤩🤩
thanks so much...
So much great information - thank you!
thanks! queen is now huge in the 6 gallon pot! - new video soon....
Thank you so much for this vid and your advice! ❤❤❤
I was scared about buying anthurium (although I wanted a wenlingeri for years) because of humidity and I dindt want to mess with the IKEA cabinet... see your plants thriving made me instabuy 2 anthuriums today. 😅
And I love your calm and informative style on your vids.
Best wishes from Germany
thank you! good luck with your plants - buy them young..
Old school... thank you.
Super informative video! Thank you! 😊
thanks so much!
Very informative video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks!
Wow! You’re anthuriums are next level of greatness 😊
Thank you for sharing. I know what to do on my days off…. up-pot my anthuriums 😅
thanks - I'm not up potting to 5 gallon pots - we"ll see how big the plants get ...
A couple of weeks ago I commented, saying I couldn’t wait to move mine to moss because I was not having success. Meant to return to thank you for saving my collection. Two specifically were days from rotting completely. Today one is pushing a new leaf, and on both I managed to save the last large leaf. All of my others, 17 plus anthuriums, have already started pushing new roots. I can see it thru my clear pots. Probably water twice a week. Several pushing new leaves. I’d tried every substrate I could. All the heavier substrates eventually started root rot. Thanks for showing this enlightening video.
Wow! 'm happy to hear your success with moss - moss may have better aeration? Also less resistance against the roots in terms of growth -
You the whole master of anthurium ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have some babies coming in the mail. This video had me deluded to thinking my leaves will get massive in a couple months 😂😂😂
good luck with your plants -
Lovely video. Getting my plants leaves to size up a ton has always been something I've struggled with because of the limited light in my apartment
Thanks! get some cheap led grow lights and a floor stand - plants will love it...
Subscribed and love your anthuriums! I have a few easier anthuriums (clarinervium and veitchii), but when it comes to the queen, this video is my go to! I have the clarivnerium and veitchii in lechuza pon (the transition was easy), and I would like to get the queen in pon as well, but she is currently in sphagnum moss and I have layered that on top of pon, trying to encourage her to root down into it with a water reservoir. I also have her in ambient humidity, and since seeing this video, have increased her light to 250 ppfd from about 100 ppfd, and she's putting out a new leaf :D Thanks so much for your wisdom!
awesome - good luck!
what beautiful plants, and all your care tips are so true, especially the one that anthuriums like to be wet, I forgot to water mine for a few days and my 45 cm leaf is gone...
My new favorite plant channel!!!

Great video, well done on the plants, thanks for the tips, hello from the UK 🙂
Thanks so much! Good luck with your plants
Great video!!!
Thanks so much! Good luck with your plants
Your anthuriums are beautiful!!!
Thanks!
Great info! I bought my first Crystallinum along with two hybrids and a Vittarifolium at a recent plant show. I’m getting my first big leaf on the Crystallinum, the vittarifolium has stagnated, and I’m losing leaves on the hybrids. I now know I need to change their substrate and water them more.
Good luck...
Thank you for the very good information and for letting us watch with joy your lovely lovely plants 😍

Where do you get your square pots? They look very nice with your gorgeous plants!

Thanks so much for the info. I am also an anthurium enthusiast. I sometimes face difficulties understanding what native speakers speak but your ways of speaking sound good to me. Amazing video my bro. Regards from Indonesia.
thanks - you have wonderful weather for anthuriums!
Instantly recognized your massive plants from the IAS group :) Gorgeous anthuriums!!
yes - thanks!
I'm so happy yall posted a new video. Your plants are INSANE! I so wish my queen & luxurians get that huge. I've gone through at least 5 of them no success
are you growing in similar conditions to me? led lights?
Hope your doing well Lady 🫶🏼💚
This video is amazing thank you very much
thanks! and good luck to you!
I'm glad I watched this now I know I am watering correctly and feeding. I don't want my Queen that big, so I guess I'll keep her in a smaller pot to keep her smaller? Thanks so much for sharing!
yes the bigger the pot - the bigger the plant - thanks!
Excelente resultados, parabéns
thanks!!!!
Thank you very much for this amazing information...
I hope if you can make a video of inthorium repotting ...
With best regards
thanks - i plan to make one soon as i move the queen to a 6 gallon pot

you have inspired me so much- I had to stop myself from immediately going to Home Depot. I'd been struggling with beautiful anthuriums I Imported only to see them perish. Tomorrow I start anew. thank you for posting this.
thanks! Good luck to you!!!

Stunning plants! Just about to buy my own queen and will definitely try your tips. What aroid mix brand do you use?
That is the single most impressive antherium I've ever seen
wow - thanks so much! good luck with your plants
you sir deserve a subscribe and like. I love this video it shows how u can acclimate them to your own conditions as long as u provide them proper lighting and water. Also I'd like to ask how often do you water them like do u have a schedule? Thank you
yes... I water Wednesdays and Sundays in summer... in the winter they dry out less so I give half water on Wednesdays and full water on Sundays - When you use good lighting - they grow faster and also use more water - so light and water go hand in hand...
I swear your voice reminds me of Saul Goodman!😀 New subscriber here!
This guy grows.
thanks
Goals ❤❤❤❤ the bigger the better!!!
oh yes the big plants are so striking - I never get tired looking at them
WOW 👏👏👏

I love your plants and all of the tips you have provided. Where do you buy your pots?
pots are called - hydrofarm pots
amazing! do you usually cut off the inflorescence?
I just bought my first anthurium crystallinum today and so excited to find your channel! Thanks for all the helpful and thorough care tips. Could you show us exactly how you repot or up pot using spagnum moss? Do you recommend mixing it with perlite which I’ve heard some growers do…. ❤🙏
this video i made shows how i do it - th-cam.com/video/ujdI6gbvq2I/w-d-xo.html - I like using 1/4 inch pumice as it doesn't degrade like perlite does
Excellent uppotting video thanks so much!!! Really appreciate how clear and organized you present your info :))

Wow 😳😍😍

Your wife is as pretty as can be. good job on both queens! :)
thanks!
Beautiful plants. Those queens are stunning. Ive had issues growing them outside in the S fl heat. I can't believe you have so many leaves on your regale! Mine only holds 2 at a time. I like the square pots. Where do you get those? Great video!
thanks! pots are called " hydrofarm pots " for sale on amazon
Wow I'm so glad I found this video! Gives me the confidence to try growing anthurium again. I noticed you didn't mention temperature. Obviously in the wild these grow in very hot temps, but what is the temp range in your home? Is there any chance of me growing these beauties when my indoor temps drop to 16C/60F overnight for a solid 4 months out of the year?
normal household temps - but in the winter (4 months) I turn the heat off at night and the temp drops to 55-60 at night in my home - during the day 75-78
Oh hi thank you for all the information. Amazing only one last tip. What kind of fertilize do you use?
MSU fertilizer - you can see it @4:54 thanks!
Have you ever had fungul diseases on your leaves ? Or crispy edges form etc ? I havent gone that deep into but have started to look into it as a preventative measure.
No fungus or crispy leaves...humidity 40 to 60
Beautiful plants! I love your videos! Where do you purchase your growstone?
thanks! growstone is on amazon for sale
Great plants! Amazing video. Can you please tell me where did you buy the trunk protector or extender? Thank you

Great work! Thank you for sharing. Can you please share where you purchase those pots from?
thanks! pots are made by hydrofarm...
Such a beautiful collection, i just bought a hybrid baby plant of warocqueanum x waterburyanum, that has to come in a few days i hope, it has always been a dream for me to get that hybrid so i'm so curious how it will grow out in a mature size! I also am about to get some hybrid seeds. That are coming from a woman out of France she used the nectar of Anthurium Papillilaminum x Magnificum and used the pollen from Anthurium Zara x Michelle (Doc Block) i believe.
Now i wonder how that will look like. 🥰
thanks.. good luck with your plants.. nice hybrids...
Stunnng
thanks so much!
Wow. I’ve never heard of anyone growing in spagnum moss That sure would make things easier. Can you do a repot with spagnum.
If the plant is smaller yes u can change to sphagnum moss

First of all, congratulations for your videos, I wanted to ask you, since I am in Italy, would it be possible to grow such large leaves? or do we necessarily need a different climate? Thanks in advance
If you grow indoors you should be able to duplicate what I have done... good luck!
These are some awesome tips. I watched the entire video through while my baby anthuriums sit right next to me. I've just begun learning about anthuriums and have been slowly unraveling an understanding of balance of light, water, humidity, air quality, fert, growth mediums, and love. Would you suggest the same tips for little seedlings? I don't have any mature anthuriums right now. Just wanted to start with seedlings. And would you suggest getting a mature anthurium too for learning or should I just wait for my seedlings to grow? Thanks again for the wonderful tips. Anthurium really are stunning🪴
if your humidity is over 40% I believe they will do well - but the smallest plants i have started with were leaves about 1 inch long - I would stick with the smaller plants as part of the fun is seeing them grow before your eyes - and they grow pretty fast with added light.
@@growproteas1148 i'll give the lesser humidity a shot. It would definitely be ideal to not have to keep upsizing a growing cabinet and also to allow them to reach their maximum potential size. Hope it works! 🤞🏼
good luck - let me know how they do...@@jakersaridakis
