You can clearly see where Elvis Presley definitely copied quite a bit from Jackie Wilson ( or I should say tried to copy) especially during the 60s when he was making those b level silly formulaic movies 🎥. I'll never forget when I had the good fortune to run into the Temptations at the Miami international Airport some years ago ( about 15 years, Dennis Edwards was still alive) and I had a good conversation with them and Jackie Wilson came up into the conversation. I'll never forget how well they spoke of Wilson and somehow Presley came up and they said with a look of slight disgust on their face when they said without hesitation " Elvis copied almost everything from Jackie Wilson ". At first I didn't know what to say so I left that alone as I didn't know much about Wilson and the Elvis parallel . It was then I decided to do some research on both men and I quickly came to the realization the Temptations were dead on accurate about that.
Why is everyone nasty about Elvis? Jackie is my man, but Elvis was a fabulous entertainer. Jackie was influenced by Elvis too, as well as Elvis being influenced by Jackie.
