The Perks of Being a Wallflower, anyone?! And Beastkeeper by Cat Hellison. The Maze Runner is pretty short too, and the Percy Jackson books are quick and easy. Also, Nimona by Noelle Stevenson, which is a comic sort of book, but still amazing.

    • @rhetoricalproceeds4835

Eh, you're probably right. It's shorter than a lot of the other dystopians I've read, but I guess in comparison to most books, it's not too short at all. The other ones I mentioned are, though! I recommend them to anyone and everyone!

With reference to 'The Ocean at the End of the Lane:'
"This book is trippy" - my thoughts exactly
"What the poop did I just read?!" - my thoughts again. :P
Honestly though, I was reading the entire book with a scrunched up face of confusion, but at the same time, something about the story struck something within me that got me scared. Like, really really really scared. I think some of the elements within the book were sort of like the things that visited me in nightmares, but I'm not too sure ^^; It was a trippy read indeed

For Thanksgiving 2016 I picked up a book called The Good Neighbor by A. J. Banner. It's an adult mystery/psychological thriller and a super quick read. It's face-paced with plenty twists. I don't remember the exact page count, but I read it in a manner of hours the day after Thanksgiving, so I think it definitely qualifies as a quick read! I've recommended it to a couple of my friends and they all enjoyed it as well.

Hey Jessethereader! I have two quick reads for you that you might not have read, and they are 'The Outsiders' by S.E. Hinton coming in at 180 pages and 'The Long Night of Leo and Bree' by Ellen Wittlinger coming in at 111 pages. They are about teenagers that are going through different struggles and go on a little bit of a journey to over come them. They are YA centemperary books, they are fast reads, but you really get to know everyone, and at least one of them will hit you in the feels. I hope that you enjoy them if you ever pick them up, and if you end up reading this comment. I hope that you have a nice evening. :)

Aristotle and Donte discover the secrets of the universe was a super fast read for me, I read it all straight through in one sitting. Not sure how long it actually is, but the characters in it were just so endearing, and I loved the relationships they both had with their parents! Bc in YA books now is mostly either dead, evil, or abusive parents and it was so refreshing to see those loving parental relationships for a change! Of course I loved the main characters as well, Donte is so not what you expect from a teenage boy. This story was just so simple and refreshing!

The book "we were liars" is called "Maybe it´s all you need to know" (kanske är det allt du behöver veta) in Swedish, an I absolutely LOVE it. (I cried so muchhh)

The False Prince. Finished it in one day. Couldn't put it down. One of my favorite books of all time. If you love sassy, clever, mysterious characters, this is a great trilogy.

I've actually just finished We Were Liars. I have the most beautiful hardback cover from Waterstones - it's like a dark blue with patterns on it. My friend and I bought matching ones xD

Dear Jesse, have you read 'The book of lost thing' by John Connoly yet because I am gonna start it and don't really know what to expect (Also this book was on a list of underrated books, so that's why i'm picking it up and I think 'The monstrous child' has a beautiful cover and is a very quick read) :)

My current favorite quick read is Ink by Alice Broadway. It has 350 pages. I read it in like 2 days and if I had more free time I probably have read it in 1. I think it's an amazing story and definatly recomment it.
sorry if my English grammer isn't that good, it's not my first language.

I love a monster calls. But I've only watched movies. (Guilty). I love the movie so much that I'm sure I'll love the book. It's in my TBR read. Thanks for the review.

Lately for me I have not minded taking ages to finish a book. It does make me sad that I'm not reading as much as I could. But I like getting more invested in the story. Sometimes taking longer to read something makes you remember it more and spend more quality time. Of course I understand why people want to get through as many books as possible. But that's my view

Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce is always a quick read for me. That entire quartet is a quick read in all actuality since the books are all fairly small. I think they're all under 300 pages depending on which edition you get.

I am such a slow reader that I am going to say: the shades of magic trilogy is probably one of my fave quick reads right now :D
The fact that I finished it within two weeks next to a life and school stress is very quick for me :D

Latest favorite quick read for me has been For This Life Only by Stacey Kade at 302 pages. It's about a boy named Jace who is living with the recent death of his twin brother Eli from a car crash. The accident left him alive but unable to play baseball anymore and he spends the book trying to figure out how to move on while also questioning his faith and figuring out what he believes compared to what his parents taught him to. I know it's over 300 pages but its a really fast paced book that made my cry a lot more than I usually do! Great video

The Selection series is a very quick read! I would recommend to only read the first three and their novels. NOT The Heir and The Crown, cause they suck..

I was just at the book store Saturday wondering if I should pick up We Were Liars.. I didn't get it but it's still on my list to buy at some point. I'm gonna be honest both times that I've read the Twilight books I flew through all of them. Maybe this time it was quicker because it was a reread (those are always quicker for some reason). I wouldn't say they're short by any means, but for some reason I read them really quickly. That's probably the only series since most other books I read get delayed from homework.

i rarely read books in a day, but the one that took me literally 5 hours to read fully was Wintergirls. I loved it, especially for a 14 year old mind not knowing much about the world, it taught me that not everyone is as happy as i am (or was when i read the book). That and Thirteen Reasons Why, a book i read in two days, was a huge game changer for me, i recommend them to anyone wanting a quick read (300 pages lol) but a mind opener as well.

A monster calls! Story time: my cousin wanted me to watch the movie with her. But it was a really long day so I fell a sleep in the first 10 minutes. The next day she told me she had a copy of the book, she asked me if I wanted to watch the movie or read the book. I read the book, but still didn’t watch the movie😂. Such a good book
