      I have used quite a few of them, and will check out some of the links! Dr.Childs, is berberine immune stimulating, because it is derived from goldenseal, that is my concern?

      Winner of a video, I've been looking for "how does obesity contribute to insulin resistance?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Panadison Substratal Preponderance - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to reversing insulin resistance and diabetes without the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my co-worker got cool results with it.

      ​@ednaatluxton4918 not entirely true. It stimulates digestion/bowels. Not nessicarily appetite. It is also in many many diets. It depends on the diet.

    Berberine! - I was 273 pound 2 months ago and an now 247 lbs (-26lbs in 60 days) All I have done is
    1) I have gone to intermittent fasting (no calories from 7pm - 1pm)
    2) Reduced but not eliminated refined sugar ( i still have a small dessert most days or a bit of dark chocolate)
    3) I eat fruit for lunch and just reduce all my carbs in meals - I max good vegetables and min high starch like potatoes/rice
    4) I take BERBERINE - 2 x 500mg daily (and also take vitamin D 1000mg daily)
    5) I drink black coffee (2 cups max) and 1 litre of water daily
    6) I walk the dog about 2-3 kms each day (at varying times and intervals)
    That's it - This is totally doable as a lifestyle for me - I have failed at all other diets I have tried - This one seems easy - down 26 pounds and only 47 to go.

    Berberine helped me lose weight I couldn't lose. 2018 I had heart surgery, no matter how much I tried I couldn't lose weight. My doctor said I was obese. I've stayed the same weight up until last Sept cuz of Berberine. I'm finally 10 lbs down. 20lbs left to go. But it's a start

    I’m a dietitian and I’ve noticed that plant protein has become very popular. Unfortunately, a lot of people who have an allergy to peanuts have a problem with pea protein (it is a legume, as are peanuts). My husband ended up in the ER having problems breathing because he ate a protein bar with pea protein. It was not listed with the allergens on the wrapper (nuts, wheat, etc.). His bad, yes, but now he knows better! It would be great if this is called out on labels! It is dangerous for so many people who only look for peanuts. Appreciate your thorough videos!

      Exactly. Every alternative protein shake has pea or hemp protein which I cannot take. I'm immediately rushing to the toilet.

      I cannot digest Pea Protein or Lentils. It sits in my stomach and I feel nauseated. Pea Protein does not work for me. Whey Protein is also out for me, severe bloating. I have also talked to other people that have the same problem with Pea Protein. Not everything works for everyone. Just thought I’d add my experience. Thx, have a nice day

    Thank you for having this video. I got some Berberine and started it about 6 weeks ago. I had always, even as young child, had strong cravings for sugar. Within a few days of starting berberine I totally stopped having sugar cravings, my husband has never known me to be able to pass up sugar! I also stopped feeling so sluggish. I take the DHB (PeakPerformance 200mg) and take it with food to avoid nausea. (Plain berberine is a lot harder on my GI tract, nauseates me).

      @@drwestinchilds Can you tell me why caffeine affects me unpredictably it’s like I never know how it’s going to affect me sometimes it gives me a high and other times it makes me jittery & argumentative but without fail it always suppresses my apatite 🤷‍♂️

      @@klecoxs2could it be to do with the coffee itself? Or are you drinking the same brand? Or are you drinking the coffee on an empty or full stomach? You may feel more jittery and anxious if you’re drinking coffee on an empty stomach.

    Just watched 2 of your videos and sent to my niece who has taken Ozempic but is now having cravings and doesn't want to regain her losses.
    I started taking BERBERINE 1 month ago and lost 12# and arthritis hand pain is gone. I also do OMAD.

    I've started using Berberine in just the past two weeks (about 800-1200 mg daily) and have lost a few ounces a day, adding up to about 3 lbs. loss in that time, which is fine with me. I don't want to lose weight too quickly. And, you're right, I say "lose weight" but I really mean "lose fat". Some fad diets can help "lose weight", but sometimes it can mean the body starts using the protein in the muscle for nutrition, and you end up fatter than when you started (higher fat:muscle ratio). I want to improve my overall health, and I noticed that the Berberine has cut my sugar cravings, and I seem to be naturally preferring more fruits and veggies in my diet. Thanks for this overview, and the dosage is very important.

    Hi Dr. Childs, great video, as always! I’ve used Berberine for about a year with a great success. I also used Probiotics and they messed up my gut horribly. I can’t tolerate them at all. After five years of keto, I’ve transitioned to Carnivore almost eight months ago and I don’t need any supplements anymore. For a first time my body works and feels as it should be. I’m still taking my NatureThroid though.

      Remember there are many types of probiotics so just because one group didn't work doesn't mean they all won't.

    I use berberine with Ceylon cinnamon to help regulate blood sugar spikes and reduce inflammation. When I didn't use it, I gained 5 pounds.

    Just purchased this weight loss bundle, been using Thorne Berberine since January 2021 and lost 23 pounds but haven't lost any weight since about Feb or march 2022. I have Hashimotos and take a thyroid glandular Thyrovanz for a few years now. So it's a struggle. I cant wait to receive your products and see if i can shift the weight.

    Caffeine curbs my hunger, usually in the form of a diet soda. So hard to quit for me but I only have one a day. I do take the berberine when I am fasting but I didn't know to take it every day twice a day so I'm going to start that I just found your channel so I've been watching your videos especially the one on the black seed oil cuz I was taking it and then I stopped but I'm going to go back to it. Thank you!

    So glad I saw your site. I’m currently taking two multivitamins and two 2 B Complex vitamins for my fat stomach. This combination was given to a woman who had a gastric bypass by the surgeon who operated on her. One month later, my stomach is no longer bulging out. Of course there are other factors involved in my weight gain…70 years old, a husband who eats constantly, and self discipline. But it’s working. Now I come across your site and this is just the cherry on top that I’ve been looking for ❤❤. Thank you for sharing. I’m going to purchase the vitamins and try it.     I had high cholesterol of 7.1 I was advises by a pharmacist to use high dose fish oil 6 capsules a day for three months , my next cholesterol test was 3.1 back to normal levels

      This is why you never take statins that chemically imbalance your system. Never been on them. But I ate healthy all my life. Had a transfusion. The dietician gave me a diet it didn’t work. Going back to my diet of vegetables , chicken few times a week, green tea , apples, probiotic yogurt, etc with citrus bergamot and krill oil supplements really helped. And there is no high cholesterol in my family. I probably got it from the transfusion I got.

    I came across your video by accident but am glad I did. I had a thyroidectomy in my 50’s and am now 65. Within one week of my surgery I went from 100lbs to 115lbs. I currently weigh 125lbs and am 5’ in height. Before my surgery I never had a weight issue but I been struggling ever since. Nothing seems to work!!! I really need your help.

      Sounds like you were way better off without the franken surgery. God gave us a thyroid for a reason, along with an appendix etc. I don't trust hospitals anymore. Every thing they do makes patients worse it seems.

    I went from hyperthyroid to hypothyroid.i went into thyroid storm and freaked out when my eyes had blugged out. I gained alot of weight in my stomach and butt. Tired all the time and muscle pain. Bk pain, neck pain.
    Asthma can't breath well can't walk not even short distance without getting out of breath. Always feel weak. My stomach bloats everytime i eat and i suffer pain and gastrointestinal problems. Wheat allergic, milk allergic milk intolerant since birth. peanut allergic. Can't tollerate the heat and have really bad allergies, always sneezing, hay fever, runny noise, itchy eyes, puffy face and eyes, watery eyes Sometimes i am not hungry don't eat sometimes very hungry. Knee pain. Get frequent headaches, Can't tollerate loud noises.Been like this since i was smaller but my parent's and doctor's did't know anything about it then. They all thought i was crazy. I am 66 yrs old now. I lost all my teeth my hair is so thin now.I am on a fixed income can't afford expensive medicine.

    Thank you for the information! I take fish oil, probiotics, and drink protein shake everyday. I did not know the dosage to take on fish oil and probiotics. Thank you, I'm hoping this will increase the effects. I will also add the berberine. Your video on that was excellent!

      Dr. Berg is a believer of actual cod liver. It comes in a flat can similar to sardines and if you eat it within two days after opening it’s not too bad. It is an acquired taste though.

    Thank you for your video. I wanted to ask about cod liver oil. I just started taking it for other reasons and really like it. How does it compare to fish oil? Also, is berbine bad for your muscles? I thought I had heard in the past that it can cause muscle wasting or muscle loss. Is this true? Thank you.

      Berberine is good for muscles, is helps muscle growth unlike the pharma Ozempic or the likes... they destroy muscle..

    Thanks! I have used animal based protein powder because it does not have SOY! Have taken Probiotics but not consistently. Have used fish oil but not enough, and use berberine consistently. Not a high dose as you are talking though, will modify some of my stuff!

    Hello- thank you for this info. I’ve been taking Berberine for years to combat PCOS symptoms and in desiring to heal my thyroid of cysts, nodes, nodules and of hypo blood work and symptoms I have been taking 2% Lugol’s Iodine for the past year. I am whole food plant based vegan, haven’t changed anything in my diet in the past 4 years. Sadly, I have gained over 30 lbs taking iodine. (When toxins are pushed out of cells, if the body cannot methylate properly, it wraps them in water and fat! The good news is that my bloodwork is turning around, mt body temperature is warmer, my hair is thickening up, but the weight is a huge bummer! Those that have had this phenomena say that it eventually turns around usually in 8 mo. or so, but I’m still waiting.
    I take many excellent supplements including methyl folate to aid in methylation, rebound, drink plenty of fluids… but was wondering if you have any thoughts? I worked slowly up to 50mg/ day of Lugol’s and have been there for a year. Thank you -

      You need selenium ( 1 brazil nut at night) to get rid of the toxins. I would be sweating all night with low grade fever when I started iodine until I consumed the brazil nut.

    Please, please, please do the sugar cravings video. I’ve tried cold turkey a few times and I can’t believe the withdrawals I get. The headaches, the foul temper are the worst. On the other hand, the sugar is destroying me when I’m on it. I can go through an entire day just eating Candy. Luckily my work is very physical and I’ve been able to maintain my weight but my body is suffering in every other way.

    Berberine worked miracles on my candida infection. But at a 1000 mg dose, I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating and with very rapid, strong heart beats that would take a couple of hours to settle down. I would like to stay on it but it appears I can’t tolerate it. If you have any way to counteract that, I would love to hear!

    My Dr strongly advised me to not take Fish Oil due to the side effects. He said he used to prescribe it to lower Triglycerides until he’s done a lot of research. He said the best thing I can do to reduce mine to exercise. Just 30 minutes a day can make a huge difference according to him. I would rather do that than to take something that might harm me in another way.

    I tried Berberine for a few months but if your hypoglycemic like me it tended to give me more hypoglycemic attacks. I quit taking it and no more attacks.

    I Use berberine my ac1 test came back at7.0 and they wanted me to go on metformine and i said maybe but wanted t see what berberine would do and my next ac1 test came back at 6.2 which was great it was like 2 months of taking it.i also added white mulberry leaf with cinnamon.i do have 1 vitamin guy i use.i dont know if its allowed to metion him but hes been ahead of all out there and its made in the US

    I don’t understand much about the CFU on probiotics. Is it total of 300 billion CFU total. Because they are usually broken down to different numbers

    I lost 50 lbs in about 5 months while doing Keto and 4 of the 5 items you listed. I didn't use protein powder. Question, what was the ratio or percentage to use in fish oil for EPA & DHA?

      Somewhere around 2/3 EPA to 1/3 DHA for weight loss.

    Caffeine has NEVER assisted me to lose wt. Even with no sugar drinks for years.
