    Love the dress form! I had thought about doing that myself, but my weight has fluctuated too much in recent years-so I would want to make sure I was at the same weight for a few years before I did so-I do have a dress form, and then I pad it out with those foam fitting aids from: "Fabulous Fit". It works really well-I hope you enjoy your dress form as much as I do mine!!

    That was fun watching you unbox your DittoForm... She looks great - Let the adventure begin!! Instead of using an IV Pole... I have an antique Wolf Dressform that is a tiny size 6. I took the body off and put my DittoForm on the pole... Perfect Fit!

    Today i got my first adjustable dress form Not the same as this perfect copy but weird to see what it looks like when you dial in your measurements. Can't wait to see how you use yours because after I got mine I thought to myself ...I have no clue how to use this because I am so used to just fitting with a flat pattern :)

    I would love a body double (but would either keep the door locked or keep a robe on her). That is just great, enjoy! I have been looking into a handmade one. I think it's Bootstrap Patterns. Can't wait for the fun to begin with you.

    Just name her Damn It because as you work with her you'll be saying 'damn it' a lot! 😋.
    ? -- does this adjust any when your weight fluctuates? I bought a dress form and about 10 yrs ago my weight started fluctuating to where adjustments became impossible. The old age gain, lose, gain, lose but measurements never go back.
    Happy you got her. They are life savers when it comes to fittings.

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. You could technically remove the cover and shave some of the foam or pad it out but it won’t be exactly you.

    It’s a great idea 😊it’s just a shame that it’s only based in the US at the moment I live in the Queensland Outback was hoping there was somewhere in Australia for scanning but nope not yet 😿😿😿😿maybe it’s just too new of a concept at this point but it would so much simpler than making a body mould or using Bootstrap 😹😹😹😹😹 I loved the fact it has the slight body imperfections as that would be a big help when designing cloths on the dressform 😹😹😹

  • @SaltandPepper8010
    @SaltandPepper8010 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is SO COOL!! I have always wanted to get a dress form that was me! I looked into the homemade ones but they fell short. The duck tape-no. But I did come across a company that you would measure yourself and send all of the measurements to them and they made a pattern for your body. You then would sew up the pattern and then stuff it. You would measure all the areas so that you knew if you needed to stuff more or less. Anyway, I had been thinking about doing that one because then it would be pin-able. This however takes the cake! I want to do this. I wish they had more places you could go get scanned. I love it!

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never realized what a tiny waist you have. Plus it's super short. No wonder you're always grading patterns! Seeing you on video while you talked about having to do this I used to think it was all in your imagination, lol. I guess this shows the value of being able to grade your patterns.

    I am so interested in these custom forms, but have a hard time justifying it at this stage of life. I’m a year postpartum, hoping to have another baby sometime, and just have no idea where my shape and weight will land. How did you decide this was a good time to get one?

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well...not growing my family was one factor! Lol! And I was just soooo frustrated with the other dress form options and making clothes that needed little tweaks I didn’t realize until I put it on. I would rather have something that’s very very close than nothing at all.
