Thanks a bunch. I never would have figured out those clips without this video. A $12 part and half an hour of work that Toyota wants $500 for.

Thanks, Brad! I used your video to swap my stock steering wheel for a European Prius leather one. Swapping out the switch panels is not really hard either. Took an extra 5 minutes or so to move them over to the new wheel.

Thank you. I am doing this with a new Corolla steering wheel next week. This helped tremendously.

Thanks for the video, fyi, after I took off the 19 lug, the steering was still stuck. This old Mexican guy that was walking by at the junkyard, that saw me struggling, informed me to put the lug back on loosely and told me to just wack it with a hammer and bam, the steering wheel came loose.

The clip...do you pull the clip towards you? Or push it away from you?

Thanks for video. I bought 2011 Toyota prius about two months ago. Horn didn't work. After a while, the two buttons on the steering wheel stop working. Will replacing this part solve both issues? I was looking for part replacement. The price range is very high. I notice that some clock springs says with sensor, and some don't. What does that mean, or does that make a differenece? I'd really appreciate any feedback.

Brad. I had a minor fender bender in my 2010 prius that resulted in the main damage being just to the bumper and thats easy to get fixed but the collision deployed my steering wheel airbag and driver side knee airbag. the deployment cracked the side of the steering wheel where the windsheild wiper control stick sticks out and now the control stick is busted. My car sensed i was in a collision and wont let me car leave nuetral. Its been towed to my driveway so its in a safe location. My question is- If I fix the bumper before i fix the airbags will my car let me drive it again? is the already deployed airbags fixable/ replaceable? and is the windsheild wiper control and the area it sticks out of fixable? Is it worth it?

What would happen if a coin got between there by an accident. Would there be a possibility of activating the air bag?

FYI: the red handled screw driver in your video is also and extension.

Hey, does anyone know if that ugly steering wheel could be swapped to a 2015 Corolla? Because it's the only thing that's making me thinking of sale this car. Thanks

The airbag will not blow up. You take it off battery for warning indicator light so that it doesn't light up. Airbag only will blow up if you put voltage in to. There is no voltage on this system only when you crash the car.

If you use a pick, those little yellow tabs pull up to unlock the airbag harness.

Honnestly no idea. You see what I did and it came right off. Possibly need to get a flat screwdriver in better the wheel and the mount and get it a couple of taps incase something is gluing it to the shaft. I've see soda spills do that on Chevy wheels.

I followed the instructions of this video and replaced my rubber steering wheel on my 2013 Prius C with a leather wheel from a Prius C of the same year. Everything went well; however when I turned on the ignition the SRS warning light (air bag not working light) came on and it has remained on for weeks. From what I understand the air bag is not longer functioning. Does anyone know how to restore the airbag? Is this something I can do myself or do I have to go to the dealer and get charged $$$. None of the instructional videos I have seen have had this problem.

Do you know if you can retrofit in a heated steering wheel?

I have never tried. I don't see why not just need to feed power and connect up a switch
