You are one brilliant teacher young man ! Verbal skills , teaching skills and mechanical skills to round it all off makes for an impressive CV. The patience you apply to difficult problems is a great guide to young people who might get frustrated with some issues they meet when servicing a vehicle. Keep up the great work, I hope your teachers saw all of this potential when you were at school.
Thank you Anthony that's really kind words I really appreciate it Hoping to get a service video uploaded soon if all goes to plan it's been way to long
Just finished the fuel filter change, I didnt have a pump to suck the diesel through so once I had put the new filter on but before it bolted it into the housing I used some clean diesel in a measuring jug to fill it then bolted it in and fitted the pipes, started ok and ran lumpy for a minute or so but now ok. Also didnt need to remove the air box just the pipe, a 27mm ring spanner will reach or a 1/2" ratchet and 27mm socket.
A-fucking-mazing. I knew how to do most of the stuff, but I had no idea how to properly change a fuel filter on a diesel car. I had mine done in a shop, but the next time I´m gonna do it myself. Thank you.
Interesting video, I can see why some garages don't bother even checking the pollen filter, very awkward place. Also I imagine the clips on the pollen filter housing could break easy. I thought the mk7 golf was hard got at! lol
That's a really kind comment I really appreciate it thank you ozman I also have a fishing channel where the videos are better again due to upgraded kit It's Cardigan bay fishing adventures

great video. Would you recommend buying a Focus with the 1.6 TDCI ? Is it reliable car? I want to buy one but there are a lot of 1.5 TDCI and I don't know it's reliability as it is a new engine.
All cars are the same these days AC they all have the issues. This is my sister in law's focas and she has had no trouble with it so far she's had it 3 years now
Yeah,mk3 1.6 TD is really reliable car I’ve mine since 2017 till now still on perfect condition.. I’m in Belgium and I travel with it everywhere Paris, Genève Switzerland 🇨🇭, Hamburg uncountable and still drive perfect. 💯💯
Hi, I went to your video for a tutorial on how to fit a new oil filter to my 2013 ford focus.2.0 It has a paper filter and I could not find it where you say it is located under the air filter box. I eventually found it tucked behind the oil filler pipe at the opposite end of the engine to your description, Is there a link telling me how to get at the unit that I have. cheers Mick.
This is a 1.6 tdci so it's a different engine. And layout as you pointed out. I haven't worked on the 2.0l version. I'm sure a quick search on TH-cam with you model should bring something up
What does the small pipe coming from the airbox to the engine do? I realised I left it disconnected for a day or two. Hope it wouldn't have caused any issues
Do you know where the oil sensor is located on this car? I think it's hidden deep underneath the exhaust manifold and turbo - can't find anywhere online to help locate
@@Thediycarchannel thanks for the reply managed to replace the sensor however dropped a spanner onto the alternator shorting it against the ac pump.... Managed to fry the solarnoid 😂😂😂😂 oops

I changed my rear break sensor the traction control light has been turned off but still remains on when the engine us running , does it have to be be set ? Thanks .
Is that the percentage ratio of diesel contamination to oil in the system? I know there's a sensor that displays that when a OBD 2 reader is plugged in to the diagnostics.
Can anyone help?? Had a service on mine about a month ago and not run right since and leaking alot of desiel! Iv been told there is a seal broken!! Could this be the O ring causing this problem? If so where can I get one from??
You didn't video yourself replacing the oil. If someone is capable of changing all the filters I'm pretty sure they'd realise the whole point of the exercise is to put new oil in the motor so kind of a picky statement but also a valid point for any idiots watching. Cover all bases. Just serviced mine today and theld oil filter was a real sod to get out of the casing. Ended up destroying the filter and cutting the remaining plastic bits away. Also it's easier to fit the new filter into the engine first so you definitely locate the peg in the hole (crucial) then replace the cover which will locate the filter on the internal clips when tightened down.
@@Thediycarchannel Well you said you put a certain link there , it wasn't that I know . By the way have you ever changed a diesel filler cap on a 2013 focus ( the to part you put the fuel in ) ?
Yes you can paddy. You can just push the piston back but do it slowly all. Garages do it that way but the recommendation is to release the niplle to release pressure

Great video, best 1 I've seen so far on this car, however, cutting costs on cheap oil filters, NOT a good idea.....
Thank you Jerry
I never put cheap filters on unless customer demands it
Really good video.
How would you know when the pollen filter needs changing.
Thank you
Not really sure tbh I would do every 2-3 years

I tried draining the oil today on the same car but the plug didn’t seem to come off, it was just turning but wouldn’t come off, any advice?
Sounds like your sump thread has gone you will need a new sump but I'm guessing it is hard to say without seeing it
Hello, what size is the wrench to remove the oil filter? Thanks
I think it's 27mm but it's been a very long time since I did it
Just looked all sizes I used are in the video discription with torque specs
@@Thediycarchannel Thanks
@@jdnvn no worries
Does this car have a fuel filter to change under the car
No I don't think it does just the one in the Engine bay I believe
Hi was just wondering if that draper torque wrench you had was any good? Cheers
I did comment on your other comment but yes it works great and still going like new
Have you ever worked on mr beans mini?
Yes, loads of times. obviously 😂😂
What does the small pipe coming from the airbox to the engine do? I realised I left it disconnected for a day or two. Hope it wouldn't have caused any issues
Just a breather pipe Dean won't do no harm. It's plugged in to air box to stop any crap going in
Thanks mate, good to know 🙂

how many km do you change the oil and filters?
Ford say 10,000 miles
I personally do oil and filter every 5000miles
I changed my rear break sensor the traction control light has been turned off but still remains on when the engine us running , does it have to be be set ? Thanks .
I wouldn't think the brake pad sensor has anything to do with it. Maybe you knocked something?
After how many kilometers will the message about the oil change come back?
I'm not sure to be honest its goes on a percentage scale
Is that the percentage ratio of diesel contamination to oil in the system? I know there's a sensor that displays that when a OBD 2 reader is plugged in to the diagnostics.
It probably works off hours running
I wouldn't think it actually knows what the oil life is if that makes sense
Can anyone help?? Had a service on mine about a month ago and not run right since and leaking alot of desiel! Iv been told there is a seal broken!! Could this be the O ring causing this problem? If so where can I get one from??
Where is the fuel leaking from ?
There's a good chance it's the o ring you can get one anywhere online
@@Thediycarchannel by the looks of it from underneath the filter!! Iv searched online but can't seem to find anything 🤦♀️
Buy a new diesel filter kit it should have the o ring with it
